One of the best videos about an exchange students year in America, told by a articulate, interesting, beautiful girl. Break a leg sweetheart.
John Creighton totally agree!
thank you so much 💛
I've seen many videos of exchange years but wooow this video is sooo good!!
aw thank you SO MUCH! 🧡
I am so happy you made this video! I wanna go on an exchange year to the US to in a few years (I'm from the Netherlands) and i think i've seen 30.000 video's already but i've never seen a video about that not everything is as perfect as people think. After watching you're video i still wanna go, but i know that being homesick is normal and that i don't have to be scared to get homesick, because i will! But after all, i know that i am going to have the most amazing year in my intire life. Can't wait en thank you so much for making this video!
aw thank you so much!! my year was definitely a really long rollercoaster with a lot of ups, downs and even loops hehe but it is crazy to think about how uniqe of an oppurtunity this actually is. i'm so happy you're excited, it is SO worth it! 💛
bro i wanna be an exchane student so badly and go to the US when i am 16 but my dad hates the us my mom was going to study there for her PhD but he was like no so theres no way he is going to say ok
OMG I did an exchange year in Colorado, it was amazing! Colorado is gorgeous!! I lived ion Broomfield, it's near Denver and Boulder. Totally recommend for anyone who's wondering where to apply ;)
how fun!! 🤩🤩
"I had to do my own laundry" Oh the hardships of being on your own. Your too funny! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
i had never even touched detergents before i got too colorado 😅😜
🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂 Wow Colorado looks like a fun place to spend your exchange. But honestly each state is so different. If you had been in California, Florida, Texas, NY or some other part of the country, you experience would have been much different. The landscapes and weather change so drastically from one part of the country to the other. But at least you got to also experience Hawaii. That must have been awesome. Norway is well known as a beautiful country with all of those fjords and rocky coastline and mountains. I would love to visit there sometime. Glad you enjoyed you time here Christina. You matured a lot. I know it ended in an unexpected way but I do hope that you were not disappointed in any way with the rest of it. Come back some time soon.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Both Colorado and Hawaii were awesome 🤩 Thank you so much! 💛
a00141799 i was gonna do exchange in florida befor corona :(
This is actually my favourite “exchange year” video!!🤍
aww thank you SO much!! 🥺❤️❤️
I've seen so many of these videos, and this one is my favorite so far. It was interesting, real, and very well put together, you're very good at talking and explaining. I'm sorry you had to leave early, Than you for this. :)
aw that makes me SO happy!! ❤️❤️ thank you so so much
This deserves more love! I have seen so many exchange videos, and this is one of the best!
aw thank you so so much!! 🧡
I loved my exchange year in America. I went to Kansas which isn't really a place I would have ever considered going if it wasn't for exchange. Made some of my best friends there.
thank you so much for sharing!!
I started crying while watching this video! I admire you so much
ahh that comment makes me cry!! 🥺❣️ thank you so much
omg i am crying rn, completely relatable everything you said!!
❤️❤️❤️ i’m glad!!
You have a talent with video, you should explore that more.
that means SO MUCH, thank you!!
I wish i can go there😭 u so lucky because u have opportunity to go there
malikyy. ya exchange is really expensive
ahh no i’m sorry!! :( for whatever reason you can’t go, i hope it’ll be ok and hopefully dreams come true? 💓
@@ChristinaWedvik thank you
my parents applied for green card lottery and my dream is to move to the US the results are coming on may 5th and Im so scared any tips on that?🥺
I actually don’t know what green card lottery is, but I do believe as long as you want it enough, dreams come true ;) ❣️ Just see what happens, if it didn’t go your way, there has to be other ways!
@@ChristinaWedvik green card is basicly a card that lets you work and live in the US so you apply and 60k people get chosen every year🧡i hope we get chosen🤞🏻
I wish you good luck, but even if you won't get it don't give up, find your happy place in America :D
Nina Kotevska Heyy how did it go?💞❤️
Nina Kotevska what happened? is all good
Omg I really like your video, it took you a lot time to cut that, and it's fantastic....
I am from Germany normally going to USA this summer not sure not because of Coronavirus 😕😫
thank you so much!! oh no i really really hope you'll be able go, i'll pray for you!! 💛
If I were you I wouldn't go to the USA until they have a vaccine. It seems like Trump's plan is to just let people die because he wants to get the economy back on track so that he can win the election. Don't risk it!
This looks like so much fun! I'm from the U.S and I've always wanted to go travel or do some program that allows me to do that. Wow.
ahh how fun!! It was amazing
This was soooo good!! Miss you so much❤❤
thank you Ellen, saknar dig
Love it!♥️
Thank you!! ❣️
This was extremely well-made. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so so much!!
The video from 5:00 literally gave me goosebumps...
aw thank you so much🥺❣️
Very nice video!
thank you so much!
Eg e veldi glad for at du gjorde den her videoen 🥺 eg bor i USA men slektå komme fra Norge og eg har masse respekt for deg for å kunne flytte t eit anna land. D e drit kjipt at du trengte dra heim pga corona.
I've seen so many of exchange videos, but so far I love this video the most 💕 I’m actually gonna go for an exchange this year, but I think the program is postponed or even cancelled (worst case). I hope for the better condition in US. Beside that I'm not sure if I can go for my exchange year, I haven't got host fam yet 😭
thank youuu, that means so much!! 🥺❣️❣️ and i’m so sorry!! :( really hope you’ll be able to go 🙏🙏
Is there a way to do an exchange in Norway?
And how did u apply for an exchange year to USA?
yes!! I know CETUSA and AFS offers exchange to Norway :) I just got a lot of help from my school and the organisation I picked to apply, the first step is to just find an organisation and take it from there! :)
@@ChristinaWedvik hvilken organisasjon reiste du med?
Kjempe bra video, bra redigert også :)
When ur exchange year just got cancelled beacuse miss rona and ur sad
:(
my biggest dream
thank you sooo much ❣️
wich organisation did you use?? for your exchange year. i want to go to the us too! :)
Explorius! :)
I loved every second of this video!❤️ I’m from 🇩🇰 and considering going on an exchange but I am not quite sure! I feel like I will miss my family, friends and just danish atmosphere when I’m in USA 😕 any tips? Anything will help!❤️
Thank you so much!! ❣️ I understand it’s super scary, and I can tell you you will miss family, friends and danish things you didn’t even think about you’d miss, but it is only less than 1 year of your life, and you will grow SO much from it. Also, you will get a new family, new friends and a new culture when you’re there, which is very unique. 🧡
I look back on that opportunity and now it is gone, too late. I beat myself up over it every day single day.
Don't live a life of regrets
There are two types of people in life. Those who make it happen. And what happened?
you put On my own in this😭 so good! i am an exchange student for 20/21 hope it all goes well :)
haha yeah I looove that song and thought it would fit great 😅🤪 ahh how fun good luck!!
@@ChristinaWedvik thats so sweet of u thank u!!
❤️❤️🥺😍😍
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Awwww det var en såååå bra video
tusen takk
awww så fin videoo
tusen takk Madeleine 🧡🧡
Det er bestemt, hvertfall for min del:((
wowwww I'm so glad covid-19 didn't stop you from experiencing such an amazing year
yeah, i feel really sorry for the people that didn’t get to leave at all :(( did you do an exchange year?
not yet... but if everything goes as it’s supposed to go I’m leaving for the UK in January for a semester (I’m italian)
hope covid doesn’t ruin another year cause we’ve already been quarantined for 3 full months
Emma Signori ahh i’m so sorry, crossing my fingers for you!! 🤞🤞
thanks 🥺❤️
Nydelig video!!
tusen tusen takk!!
All that crying.....not a big deal now.......but.....you lived the life....highs and lows....good and bad.....you can now "walk the walk and talk the talk"...... you proved dreams can come true...even for 7 months....
hehe yeah, thank you!!
because of the corona my exchange student (29th) had to return home 3 months early and lost a trip to Hawaii
Ahh I’m sorry, I luckily got to go to Hawaii and it was the BEST week of my life 🥺❣️
2:02 audio scared tf outa me!
hahah when we jumped off the couch? 😂🤪
Do you know any good foreign exchange programs that go from the US to Norway?
I know the american organisation I was with, «CETUSA» send americans to other countries like Norway! :) I also think AFS send to Norway ;)
@@ChristinaWedvik Okay thank you!!
Where in Colorado did you stay!!!? I was in centennial 😋
Ooooh really? 🤩 I was in Fort Collins!
What program did you use!!??
Classic high school program with Explroius/CETUSA
SUOMI
Tärrve vatutustua!! That’s the one thing i remember but have no idea how to spell it hahah
who did u go with and how much was it
Explorius/CETUSA, i think it was $10k to the organisation plus visa, vaccines etc. :)
How old were u when u went? Also what grade were u in? ❤️
I was 17 when I went, 12th grade! :)
Was it annoying to be in 12th grade with exams and stuff? Did u have to take them? Did people have less time for u bc they Where studying?
Because my norwegian school didn’t require much I took less hard classes and could choose all the fun electives instead! 🤪 My first school was a college-prep school so people studied a lot and did a lot of college stuff, but I did not feel that way at my second school. You have to take finals in your classes, but as long as I got a C I was fine, and that was no problem at all (:
Christina Wedvik thank you so much, you’re a big help! I’m thinking about going but not sure if I should go when i’m 16 or 17 cuz i Wanna be a junior but if i’m 16 i don’t Wanna risk being a sophmore.
Sofia Contreras i totally see that! however, it is up to the school to consider you as what they «want», my first school all exchange students were seniors because that was tradition, no matter how young they were, and my second school put me as a junior because they wouldn’t let me graduate, and i know a boy who’s a senior got placed as a sophomore, so schools do different things but you’ll have to cross your fingers or be a good convincer ;) and no problem at all!! if you have any questions at all don’t hesitate, i would love to help 💓
Hi!Can I ask you how have made this video? I mean what software/app have you use to make it?
Michela Benocci i use final cut pro and love it!! ☺️
@@ChristinaWedvik thank you very much!!! 😁😁
Ik im very late but I wanted to ask what exchange program u where using?💖
Explorius/CETUSA :)
Christina Wedvik tyyyy!
why did you choose Colorado?
I didn’t choose Colorado, I got placed there randomly! :)
what company did you do your exchange with?
i went with Explorius! :)
How can i go on exchange year in usa
i would talk to your school counselor first - maybe she/he knows how to start! or find an organisation, they will help you out :)
@@ChristinaWedvik thank you for the responding you are so cool :)
Ehyy were you in a public or private school?
First a charter school, and then I transferred to a public school :)
@@ChristinaWedvik oh thank you so much❤️
Where are you from?
I’m from Norway! 🇳🇴 Where are you from? :)
Christina Wedvik I am from Germany. I did an exchange year in Canada 2019/2020
i went on an exchange semester this year until i had to leave after just three months. either way i am so sad i couldn’t go the whole year. you can cleary see how much more happens. friendships are deeper, the connection to the host family too. i will forever be greatful for my three months, but i would do anything to experience a whole year in the beautiful place i stayed.
i totally understand, thank you for the comment ❣️
