What up man.. great video. I have the same radio as you have there. Yeasterday it lost all front panel display. The radio has worked perfect for many years. I turn it on I have receive,, everything works just no display. The display is green and fades out after about 45 seconds. I think like the one you and I have there (no internal battery). I'm going to try to clean the plugs going to the display with some Deoxit F5.. maybe they dirty? HA.. wishful thinking huh! Can you help me? Love your vids man. Thanks 3's ✌
Well, that radio turned out really well because I wasn't confident with that radio back in it's day on my base station. I would gladly run that on my base station after this work was done. Keep on doing what you do. Almost time for two more radios to make a trip out east, right?

Good explanation. Watching the video, I have a question: what should I use so that the oscilloscope reads that signal?
An RF sampler is needed. You cannot connect an Oscope directly to a radio or you will burn up the scope itself.
