Interesting radio. I've seen them online before and was wondering about them. Simple conversion and seems easy to use. Thank you for another great video.
Well, I think I am going to leave the menu alone because that radio is doing what it is supposed to be doing. Surface mount galore in that radio. I also saw where that radio has software to program it. have a good one, brutha.
Yes, the software can be found at Radioddity.com and it’s also very similar to the Stryker software as well. Surface mount galore lol, yeah brother and no internal adjustments available, software driven radio. I might just get one myself. 73👋🏻
Just a note that's a mighty clean workshop you have there. You can tune on my yet to arrive QT40 anytime. I'll move the jumper and burn it in some and then contact you. Haven't used a comm radio since 1980, I think it will be fun again. Subscribed, thanks.
,,,,,,extremely cool vid,,,,great setup, you got,,,nothing can touch this radio, for the price,,,miss the pots, tho,,,i know tweaks, are menu driven,,,but, seems more easy to get at, with everything right there, in pot land,,,,same with cars, of course,,,like they dont want the average guy to be able to fix his own car,or bike,,,and they exclusivize it, by needing the analyzers,,,,no more gappin points, or rebuilding floats, and needles, in carbs,,,all computerized,,,,takes the fun out of it,,and dumbs everyone down,,,keep em comin, bro,,,de NV1H,😎
Thanks for tuning in, and yes I agree with the new school changes concerning cars and radios. All we can do is try and keep up with it all as best we can. 73👋🏻
Enjoyed the video. I'm considering getting one just because they look like fun to play around with. Honestly, I haven't seen any videos knocking your reputation on RUclips.
He doesn’t even put out videos about radio work, he doesn’t have any work and won’t be getting any in the future as well… This is why he transitioned to putting out bash videos, the trick is now up, and everyone knows he is not a radio technician. I watched that old fart dig his own grave‼️😂
@@GroundControl204 he certainly has a very sketchy history. Nobody that I would trust. Besides, radio technology today has come a long way in the last in the last 20 years. I watched your video but I'm confused did you have to do a special tune that you didn't show to get that what to do 50 Watts on a.m. or does the radio come doing that kind of power once you do the frequency conversion? I've been wanting to buy one of these radios so I'm interested to learn.. hope to get a reply thanks
There is an NPC switch on the radio that limits or opens the peak wattage. They are really clean at about 40 watts peak, but with a few adjustments 50 watts can be achieved and the waveform is still clean on the oscilloscope. They are decent radios for the price but I personally have no desire in owning one. 73
Did you happen to check if this will transmit down at 24.930? I have seen in the programming software it lists the bottom bank of channels down there. Be a good option if if covers from 12-10! Thanks for the video!
Good video and great infomation. Do you Know if schematics are available for this rig? I contacted Radioddity about them, I don't think the gal even knew what I was talking about. Any information will be greatly appreciated.
It will work with a cigarette plug, but it’s always best to connect straight to the battery to avoid static and other interference from the vehicles motor and electrical system. 73
I have a question I have the same radio but my SWR goes from 1.2 and then when I turned it up the power I’ll get a 9.9 SWR and then it’ll go back to 1.2 on high-power and then back to 9.9 I think there’s something wrong with my radio what do you think?
Menu Settings⚠️👇🏻
BP: Beep function
RB: Roger beep
AL: Weather alarm
D1: light Dimmer
NP: Enables peak power
UL: Vox
UT: Vox
SW: Scan type
NT: Mic type (Dynamic or Electret)
FN: Clarifier Rx/Tx
FT: Clarifier steps (F1 1k/ F2 10k)
SR: Enables SWR readings
Thank you

Thanks for stopping by Travis, if anyone wanted to save some money over buying a Stryker, I would definitely recommend this QT 40. 👋🏻
I like what I see, a little 50 watt monster. Good job sir. 73’s

Thanks for tuning in, there good talkers for the price☑️
Nice work great💯

Hey, thanks for tuning in and leaving a comment. It’s a good talking radio to fun around with it for sure. 73👋🏻
the irf 520's are good for around 50 watts, irf 530's are good for around 70 watts and they are a direct replacement.
As long as people are hating on you then you know you’re doing something right. Jealousy is a whore.
Well put my friend. Thanks for tuning in☑️ 73

Where are you located. Do you do radio tunes for anyone.
I’m in the Washington DC area, and yes my services are for the public. Everything starts with an email sir. Groundcontrol204@icloud.com

Is the chassis the same size as an old Cobra 148? I really like the throwback looks of that Qt40.
Yeah, basically the size of A 148.☑️ 73
I’m debating on buying one. I guess it’s all menu driven as far as modulation?
Yes sir, there are no internal pots, all software driven. 73
@@GroundControl204 thank you sir. I enjoy your videos. Good work. Bogger44 Daytona Beach Florida with the wave 👍🏻👍🏻
So what is the difference between this radio and the Anytone...? Looks and acts the exact same.
It is the same chassis and set up as the anytone Aries ll. Honestly, I prefer Radioddity. 73

I did not check how low or high the coverage is for this radio, but I’m sure if it’s on the data list, it’s capable. 73
What about replacing the jumper with a 3 pin harness and a switch so you can do 10/11m on the fly?
@@RadProducer75 You don’t lose 10 meters when you add the jumper for 11.👌🏻

You can always acquire the schematics for the Anytone Aries II, both radios are exactly the same. 73
Wish my QT40 did 50 watts AM. My Nissei RS-27 shows like 13-14 watts but then again I don't know how to get more out or it.
It’s all about the tune up sir. 73👋🏻
Is this the same as the anyone ares II? They look exactly alike.
Yes, same board and chassis, very little difference between the two. 73👋🏻
Hello. How do I get in touch with you to see about sending you a qt40 14:32
Everything starts with an email sir. Groundcontrol204@icloud.com
Hello
Thx for the video
Can I power the qt40 with cigarette cable for mobility?
It will work with a cigarette plug, but it’s always best to connect straight to the battery to avoid static and other interference from the vehicles motor and electrical system. 73
Can you mount a frequency counter on top of radio?
It has a built in frequency counter sir.☑️

It could be the radio is improperly tuned, or your coax and antenna is causing the issue.
bad coax jumper.
