It's good to hear that they've separated Nene from the troop. With how this situation has affected the troop it's clear this was the right decision for Nene's wellbeing. I hope my favorite grandma gorilla gets well soon!
She should of been separated days before they actually did it. Waited way to long but yeah at least they finally did it I suppose. Let's hope the old girl recovers her strength ❤🦍

A lot of people are asking about Nene. She is separated from the rest of the family ( about time ) From what I read she can no longer climb and can hardly move. She does sit up at times but lays down again and sleeps. Shabani and Ai are constantly checking on her through the windows but in my opinion the keepers need to make a hard decision, her quality of life is terrible. She is old and I feel will not improve but that's my opinion.
Yeah, seems like the end may be near. Had a pet with similar behavior back in the day. Even though these are gorillas it’s still evident. She’s weak and nutrition is horrible from not eating. No exercise or movement and she’ll probably fade away sooner than later. 😢

Please be honest and open and give us all Nene's current medical diagnosis. How bad was the stroke she had? Does the zoo feel she will recover or is her health spiraling. It's good that she has been separated to reduce her stress level from the aggresive begavior from the the gorillas. BUT...what is the zoo vets doing for her, and what is her current health prognosis????
