Repairing Pasture with My John Deere 750 Tractor

  • I have some craters in my pasture from my Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs. I rent a tiller for the three-point hitch of my John Deere 750 tractor to smooth out the pasture. I overseed afterward with a pasture seed mix.

You're going to wonder how you ever did it all before now that you have the tractor. That was a wise investment.

Doesn't hurt for sure but it isn't needed to plug in block heater above 40* especially since you'll be running it for a couple hours. Turning key counterclockwise should produce a flame in the intake, then crank at full throttle. Pull back to a fast idle once it starts. NEVER use starting fluid on that tractor. Hopefully the previous owner has the original toplink, doesn't hurt to ask. I have the original plus a TSC one. Next time try hooking the chain hook to the bucket edge then run under the bucket, up the back and over the top so everything stays in place plus keeps load further away from smashing hood. You should make the hood/grill protector for it. I bought the Countryline 5' last year for my 750 and switching it to counter rotating this spring. You should know by now that hogs push dirt grounding out the fencer and then get out. All they need is a small lot, the muddier the better with hog panel and single hot wire about 18" off the ground, keep the dirt off it. They will destroy your pasture mix if you're planning to put them out as as before. Glad you're taking good care of the 750 and doing a good job with the animals. Thanks for the great video. Hope everyone is healthy.

Great job, Dan. Looking forward to your next video. I hope you were able to finally buy enough seed mix to complete the re-seeding.

You could make a drag out of some old fencing, weights, and chain to make the field quite a bit smoother. Same concept as a chain harrow.

Nice video Dan. I laughed out loud (watching while wearing headphones) when he said "and you want to be subtle" as he kicked it. Does Little Buddy like driving the tractor? I was about eight when I started driving one, Great memories. Keep up the good work.
