However, it is extremely important to check your engine oil levels regularly, so that you can top it up whenever neededIt is essential to change the engine oil according to the dates or mileage indicated by the automotive manufacturer or your mechanic. Otherwise, the engine may clog or get damaged sooner, its performance will no longer be optimum, and the vehicle will waste fuel.If you're unsure what kind of oil you should use or how often you should change it, refer to the technical specifications or service section of your owner's manual.

First, you'll want to lift the car high enough to give yourself room to work under it. Whether you use ramps, or jack stands, make sure you are being absolutely safe. Never work under a car that is held up only by a floor jack.Your engine and its oil should be warm when you get started, but not hot.Remove the oil filler cap.If yod don't remove it the ,oil would still drain with the oil filler cap on, but it does seem to flow out more smoothly and quickly with the cap removed.Place the drain pan or container under the oil pan.Remove the drain plug(nut). The oil will start pouring out.Allow it to drain until the flow of oil has slowed to a trickle.Using your hand or oil filter Wrench remove the oil filter .Allow it to drain. Its goods to wipe down any oil covered surfaces before you replace the drain plug and oil filter.
Replace the drain plug and tight but not too much.Next take your new oil filter. Before screwing the new oil filter into place,It's also a good idea to rub a light coating of oil around the filter's gasket before screwing it into place, as this helps to ensure a good seal and make it easy to off the next time of oil change. After you reconfirm that the oil drain bolt and filter are both in place and properly tightened, it's time to add oil. Add the required amount of oil.Hold the bottle on its sides for a smooth pour.Replace the oil cap and start the engine. Run the engine for some seconds or so to circulate the new oil, then shut it down and check your work area underneath the car for leaks.Lower the car off. When the car is on level ground check the oil level and top up it if needed.
