    I used to run Agies two 85 models and 1 was the agie classic 2005 model they were a dream to run. The agie classic didn't come with the prob for levelling the job but it did have the option for squaring up the job with the wire. The technology come a long way since 2005 on those machines. They are best wire EDM's by far.

  • @ADAMX777
    @ADAMX777 10 месяцев назад +3

    Thank you for this video! I used to have an Agie Classic and an Agie Progress at my old job. I used Esprit to program with. I was wondering what you guys are using for the EDM?
    I also had a Mitsubishi FX 10 and an FX 20.
    I had my less precise jobs in the older Mitsubishi's and the aerospace jobs in my Agies.
    I ended up installing aftermarket DI water filtration systems from a company called Ebbco inc.
    To take the load off the Agies own filtration system. When you are running aluminum non stop like I was, the machine did ok but the Ebbco system filters the water and returns it into the machine saving the WEDM from having to clean so much eroded materials. You're not going to want to clean your water work tank and change filters as much as letting the Ebbco system do it's job. I'm sorry if I over shared. I just love you guys and miss WEDM.
    Kind regards gentleman

    This is a really cool machine! Thinking about the mechanical operation, is it possible to make convex cuts by doing repeated passes with the wires angle shifted? Similarly, is it possible to create curved tapers that start at, say, 30 degrees and end at 60 along the length of the taper? If so, this could make some impossible edm cuts more possible

    The biggest change throughout mfr-ing & products as a whole is the information exchange between mfrs & consumers (B2B in this case). Whereas pre-2010, R&D was completely unconcerned with their consumers-desires, now, one, need only have a popular YT channel to persuade companies to consider ideas. Changes that previously took DECADES due to apathy & arrogance are iterated upon continuously ... sometimes in real-time. It's hard to imagine this contemporary, iterative feedback loop of dev won't massively accelerate tech worldwide over the next decade.

    I worked about 6 years with EDM machines from GF and Mitsubishi and my opinion is that Mitsubishi is the better overall package.
    Both companys making good machines don´t get me wrong but the service from Mitsubishi is in my opinion a lot better than from GF.
    It was nothing uncommen for me to wait 2-3 days until GF respond to your calls while Mitsubishi calls you back WITH a strategy for your problem in about 0,5-1h.
    Same if you need someone for a repair on your machines. The longest time we were waiting for someone to show up from GF was over a week and the machine was standing still...
    And what I love about our Mitsubishi is that you´re able to use 25kg wire rolls (about 60.300m or 197.834 feet).
    But GF machines are still very good machines, only the service is terrible. I hope you make better experiences in the US :D

      GF service is why a lot of companies have replaced their GFs with EDMs from the Japanese companies. You tell a customer that you obsoleted a machine and won't service it, they won't buy another one.

      If anyone has ever ran a wire EDM you'd understand that the set up process can be the most extensive part of the op, from spooling your machines to controlling your water with chillers even the door cover can be some serious pains on some old EDM machines. All of these seem really fluid with this allowing for fast setups which gets you ahead on EDM jobs as they often take a long cutting operation.
