I just came from your tank test on this jig. I thought I had watched this but looks I didn't because it wasn't saved, I save all your work. One word on what I think about this jig - AWESOME! Thanks Dan!
Thank you Joe!!! I use this style jig on a few bodies of water but I use a scaled down version. This style of jig is popular on lakes with ledges and large gizzard shad. When I use to sell jigs I would make these for a few guys that fished Kentucky and Barclay lakes as well as Guntersville.
I have a couple of reservoirs near me that have a ton of shad in them. I'll have to give this pattern a try! One of them has somewhat of ledges in them, but not really fished them. This pattern will make me try it this summer. Thanks for sharing this pattern Smalljaw!
Thanks Bryan!!! I don't have any ledge lakes near me but this type of jig still gets bit. I make a mini version, 1/4oz about 5" long that I fish in 6' to 8' of water. It gets bit from both largemouth and smallmouth so I think you can tailor it to your specific situation.
Wow !!! Ive gotta try that material ... So many ideas . Im sure the action is wild . Did you pick it up from Barlows ? Hope all is well and stay safe in that crazy weather good Sir
really interested in knowing how they performed. when you mentioned about the potential great action of using the polar goat, are you intending it as a straight retrieve swim jig? thank you sir & have a really good year.
im going to tie these i let you know if they work on ledge lakes thats all we have here.i like this i love fishing bucktails an floating flys just pressure water have to use clear floats to get fish to bite them

Thank you Paul!!!! I'm going to put it in the tank, there won't be a lot of room but it will give you an idea of what to expect.
