    Awesome video, I have only recently started making smoothies and the flavour that blackberries give is amazing but the seeds have been so annoying.
    I can't wait to try out this method, thank you!

    Thank you so much for this video! I couldn't drink smoothies because of the seeds giving me digestive issues. Now I am enjoying my morning protein berry smoothie every day with 0 issues!

    Thank goodness for this tip! My mixed berry mix has black berries and I just couldn't drink my smoothie with all seeds. Tasted good but was too annoying.

    I never thought of doing this, which is probably because I've never used a crank sifter! Thank you very much😊

    That idea is GENIUS! I actually have a flour sifter that I literally NEVER use.

      Yep, that's all I use my flour sifter for. I don't know anyone who actually sifts flour. 🙂

    Have to say came in expecting a pretty cookie cutter home-made video. Minus the recording equipment of course all the instructions and little details really make this video as good as it gets.

    The crank-sifter tip was great, thank you. :)
    Tip in kind: I avoid letting seeds go down the drain and occassionally use copper sulfate to kill off sprouts/roots in the drain and septic. Ours isn't the only irritable plumbing.

    The blackberry seeds were ruining my smoothies, the sifter worked great!
    I tried it today with oat milk and yogurt-ice-cubes, or a deliciously cold and creamy smoothie!

    Thank you! Now to find the old-fashioned flour sifter! I'm wondering if you could freeze the blackberries an milk after sifting for use later.

    • @elainecaliff3362
      @elainecaliff3362  3 года назад +2

      I got my sifter at Walmart. I'm sure you could freeze the blended solution of frozen berries and milk, but does that really save enough time to be worth it? It's so quick and easy to run it through the sifter. Good luck!

    Would any flour sifter work? And for super small seeds in blueberries

    • @elainecaliff3362
      @elainecaliff3362  2 года назад

      The only flour sifter I've tried is the one that's available at Walmart, and it works great. I'm guessing there's a standard size screen for most flour sifters, though. I haven't tried my sifter on blueberries. The seeds are so small they don't bother me, so I don't know if they would go through a flour sifter screen or not. You should try it and let us know! Someone else suggested a blender that simply blends up the seeds into such small pieces you can't tell them from the fruit, but I've never tried this.

    What the heck, why have I been destroying my teeth? Lol. Thanks for the tip.
    I wonder if this would work for fast filtering cold brew coffee as well? I usually filter through a screen and then a paper to remove fines, but it takes forever, and the sifter looks like it might speed up the process.

    Would a wire strainer work?

    • @elainecaliff3362
      @elainecaliff3362  2 года назад

      It could work, but the four sifter wire forces it through the mesh with a lot less work. Good luck!

  • @deborahhayes825

    do you get pulp or just juice? There is a lot of fiber/nutrients in the pulp so I hate to throw it out. Its just those damm seeds get stuck in my teeth. Would be nice to see what is left before you rinse it out.

    • @elainecaliff3362
      @elainecaliff3362  Год назад

      Most of the pulp goes through, it's just a little bit finer than it was before it went through. A small amount stays in the sifter, I'm guessing a couple of tablespoons. If you sift longer than I did, more will go through.
