The owner was very interesting and it sucks that the new cards of players most will not remember in 20 years are more valuable then a "Henderson " rookie card who i still consider the best leadoff hitter of all time.
Trevor Williams that because topps made a million Rickey's and the newer stuff is less produced and serial numbered...80's,90's and early to mid 2000's are so over produced, that is what caused the prices to dive!
Nice deals!
Those prices are temporary, nothing has changed
Collect what you like. Dont get bummed out by values.
I agree! If the fans of newly printed cards invoke the “today’s cards are numbered” line, just look closely at eBay. They print, and reprint cards like crazy, just as they did in the junk era. Today, they’ll print a “limited run” of cards numbered to 10/20/50, and then print that same exact card numbered to 100/250/500... it’s a gimmick. So collect what you like! For me that’s 50’s-the late 80’s.
Wow, that guy is a character. I think he was excited to have guests in the store who actually know their way around a stack of cards. I like that he seems to realize that some people need their space and said to let him know if he was bugging you.
Facts
That is how a card shop owner should be. Straight to the point, tells you like it is, doesn't jack prices for off-conditioned cards, funny, and last of all, not trying to get anyone to buy cards you may not want (like some of the places you and Jon have been to in the past).
I like this shop owner. He looks like a great owner to talk to.
I'm from Uniontown and I literally live about 1 minute from the mall. Had no idea the store was there. I will definitely be giving him some business.
jefftkey 😂
What is the address for the store
Make a video too.
I remember when Nolan Ryan made Rickey Henderson his 5000th strikeout victim. The best leadoff hitter of all time vs the strikeout king.
Man I loved that owner. Also, that store looked EPIC. I could’ve sat in there and looked at the cards and talked to him for hours
Your the type of clients no business owner want, all talk no money
This is the type of store owner that even if you don’t want anything you’ll buy something just to support him , seems like a really cool genuine guy
THAT store owner looks pretty cool to hang with and have a couple off drinks and just here some of his stories about collecting and about what the cards are worth good knowledge about players and the price there worth!
He don't drink..
Go ask him out and buy him dinner and a movie while your at it
Wow, that one of the best card shop I have ever seen, just phenomenal, he has everything!!!
Thanks for promoting the hobby and small businesses!
Man wish I had a shop like this on my town
Me too
I live 25 min from the Uniontown Mall... never knew this guy opened a shop there. ...i'll be checking it out for sure.
Meeeeeeee Too
That gorgeous Clemente poster on the back wall was OUTSTANDING!
80’ Topps Rickey Henderson will always be one of my favorite cards ever. Sweet pickup 👍
Yes great card I took one to a baseball card show no body wanted it most of these card shop owners r scammers this guy is one out of a million
Mr. Scale 1000000% true! Love Ricky what a talent he was. I idolized him as a kid :-)
Good thing I don’t live anywhere near Victor’s store! Lol I’d be living in a shipping container full of rookie cards
I'm an English guy who knows nothing about card collecting but I do find these videos fascinating. Makes me want to get involved. This shop owner seems to be the sort that you need around, not blowing smoke, but giving it straight. 👍
Enjoyed as always! I wish we had card stores in Houston. If I ever make it up to PA, I'm using your videos as a guidebook. Thanks as always Erik!
Victor and his shop need his very own RUclips channel. I could listen to him all day. Wut a cool guy. Wut a great shop. I wish him all the success in the world. He’s a proud collector who sells and just tells it how it is. Rare dude.
That Ricky is a beauty! Nice shop, it's great when the owner is engaging and talkative without being over the top.
Looks like a great shop and an owner with a wealth of knowledge. I grew up in Altoona and went to Juniata Cards as a kid (Now 38) and Steve Springman from there was the best owner I have ever come across. His prices were always fair and at times are cheaper than the giant wholesalers. Has an lcs owner ever discussed with you the cost to open a shop? I’ve been thinking a lot lately that my town, DuBois, PA could use a shop again with the resurgence in the card market.
I know Steve. Great guy. I'm not sure how much one would cost to open up.
I always love when a worker at a card shop is a good conversationalist
I just subscribed based on this one episode. I love how you followed a subscribers tip and found gold then let the owner talk his way thru with u guys. Then you got some great steals on awesome cards. It’s a win win win for all. Then u went over the cards at the end and gave shout outs to the shop owner and others. Looking forward to more content like this!! This is exactly wut I need in my little card collecting world. I recommend this channel.
Used to have 3 cards and comic stores in my town, 25 yrs later now theres one 17 miles away from me lol
Wow. Victor really is an interesting guy. Every town needs a card shop with a Victor in it. Great video. Thx Erik. I'll have to check his website out.
He seems like a very honest and great guy! Nice find! Both store and The Owner!
AWESOME video Eman that was a steal for those cards bro.....Real Nice pick ups and the owner looks down to earth as well so thanks for sharing ur pal,Dodgers fan Drew!
Great vid of what looks to be a great store owner was very personable & knew what he was talking about & his prices to you guys for what you purchased were really great anyone in the area i think would be pleased with their visit to this store
Just the Ozzie, Rickey, and Munson alone I would pay over $30. That is an amazing deal.
Cool guy....has the gift of gab. Be nice to see him appear periodically on your channel. 👍👍
I'm in California, but next year I'll be fixing a house I bought in Pittsburgh. I can't wait to hit the stores and flea markets!!!
Great Video and find.. wow!!! thanks for showing us..
$100 worth of cards (low end estimate) for $30. Nice
Great video! When I am up in the Pittsburgh area I will definitely go and check it out. Checked out the card shop in Cincinnati that you did a video on last year and had a blast. Spent over 2 hours in that shop.
Great video Mr. Jabs! I like this guy. I don’t live in the NE area. But we need to let’s keep guys like this in business.
Sweet pickups! Wish I lived closer, I'd definately visit that store. Thanks as always for sharing.
My wife will be staying in Uniontown next week and is going to stop by his store to maybe buy some Red Sox cards for me...im looking for Yaz and Fisk, Betts etc. My wife haa watched some of your videos, including this one. Thanks for the info.
Wow he gave you a great deal. Wish I lived near there but I'm all the way on the other side of the state in northeast pa lol
That’s why I like the old cards, ‘59, 60-68. I did put a down payment for a house made up of half my collection. That was 30+ yrs ago, and I’m still in it!
I 'm was a big Thurman Munson fan since the early '70s. Watch a lot of the games on TV in the late '70s. Was sad to hear of his death the day after my 21 birthday. He very likely would made HOF if he had lived.
That man puts cards on the counter with authority! Cool guy
You and your brother got amazing deals on the cards bought from that guy. He really seemed enthusiastic and passionate about the hobby plus very personable and knowledgeable. He has a massive inventory including when he showed you the backroom and bathroom full of boxes and totes. I'd keep going back to give him business if I lived close to that mall.
Quite a store! Great finds!
Take care of yourself and your family.
Awesome place. It's nice to have a guy like that behind the counter. Tells it like it is.
Rickey Henderson rookies for $20, id take atleast 5. super cool video, victor is a cool shop owner.gotta get to uniontown mall.
He needs to start a channel ASAP!! He sounds such like a great and awesome dude!!
Wow, nasty deal for $30!
Yay we’re going card shopping! Love these videos
Great Video!!!! Store owner is a stand up guy he’s is RUclips Gold !right on!
What an amazing card store! And a straight shooter who runs it. One of the best ever I have seen on RUclips.
This guy is as happy as a kid at show and tell in class. Nice shop if I lived closer id have to check it out.
I really enjoy stores where you can go in and have a great discussion with the owner. I used to spend hours helping my local store owner open wax boxes and sort cards back in the early 90's. I never thought I would get back into it and I owe it all to you and your channel. I was shocked when you opened that Trout 1/1 for me. I am so back into card collecting. When I feel better I will send you some nice old stuff. Thanks again. You and Jon certainly have brought the past alive.
Thanks for the kind words Bill! That 1/1 Trout was a card I'll never forget pulling.
This guy is a walking legend. Might have to take a trip up there to go talk sports with him.
I want to visit this store. Talk to the owner at length, and buy some cards. Very cool shop. Very cool.
Awesome shop and owner, he will definitely get more people coming through now!
Great deals on all of those rookies!
10:42 my brother totally had that Jeff Gordon binder when we were kids, I had a Mark Martin one.
Owner seems like a really cool dude.
Very cool! I Miss my local card shop that was destroyed in flooding over the summer :(
Very cool shop
Thanks for the video Erik.
I have always wanted a Ricky Henderson rookie, but I never have been able to afford it on ebay and I live 4 hours away from a baseball card shop :(
Great store. Hilarious store guy. Hope we see more of him some where. Great sports memorabilia in his store.
I'm from Cleveland and I am thinking about taking a day trip out there to visit this card shop. Nice video and thanks for turning me onto this shop.
I wish I lived close to that mall. I'd be broke though, because I'd buy all the baseball cards I could. LOL. Loved the video. Just like everybody else was saying the store owner was very cool and layed back. Good luck with your shop Victor. Nice share Erik. I enjoy watching your videos. You're are real cool guy Jabs.
That rocks that you got that Munson rookie in that lot!.Very Nice!.Pick up Munson's 1971 Topps card if you dont have it..I think it's one of the coolest cards of the 70's...
What a interesting guy! He sure did have tons and tons of stuff. I wish we had a shop like that in Kansas City.
The baseball card store on 87th st... that's my go to in KC. There is also a nice one in Gladstone on north oak twy
Damn, you got a hell of a deal!!!!! Great vid as usual! Love that Munson!
Owner is 100% right. Cards now value more of the 1/1 or /99 and/or the Variation color vs the greatness of the Player. Even the RC pre Junk Era of HOF players in the 70's are not worth what a Gold /1999 Ohtani was last year. It has become a chase for rarity or scarcity instead of a chase for greatness when collecting cards.
Wow great deal, gotta love that! Great video as always, thank you. Go Cubbies.
Awesome know the place and the people glad we still have one left here and he is amazing to deal with.
Well he sold me...ill definitely be visiting him. Sportscards etc in Robinson is a good place to check out as well. The place is a lil cramped but they have some great stuff
New subscriber here, I saw the thumbnail on the side and had to click because I only have 1 card shop in the area but thank goodness it's one of the largest around in Dave and Adams. This guy had some very reasonable prices and I'll definitely be checking out that website, he had some very cool stuff, being a Steeler fan my eyes lit up like it was Christmas. I totally agree with him on the prices of the new cards though, I just bought a PSA 10 2004 score Ben Roethlisberger for $24.00 shipped, I went to purchase a PSA 10 Mason Rudolph non auto and it was $35.00, the dude hasn't even played a down yet, I don't understand it at all. Anyways thanks for the video I love walking into card shops and checking stuff out and I look forward to watching other videos of yours.
This guy is an awesome store owner anyone in this area (Which I am not) Go give this guy some love and buy stuff. And also chat with this guy he is awesome
Haha I love owners like that! I have some of my best conversations at card shops.
I use to be into collecting baseball cards a lot all in cases and 5 row boxes but stopped caring about them and they are just setting in my closet but I just started watching your videos today and already watched 4 and you earned my sub keep up the great work!!
Awesome video and awesome store. Thanks
I hope no one needs to use the toilet. That's some hardcore collecting.
Nice video, I’ll be sending you some more cards very soon!
Great shop and owner. Loved the story about the guys wanting to come in and make a fortune off of their 80's and 90's cards.
Love this guy, like to see more of him and his cards, store great episode guys.
Grew up at uniontown pa now live in Boston,Massachusetts I used to go the mall.
Thanks for saying at the beginning where this place was. This card dealer is real friendly. Thanks for the video. There's a card shop app that finds card store. You can get it right out of Google play store.
I am the person who said about this shop I got so many basketball card off of this store to bad I don't collect base ball I might go there this weekend
Look in the bathroom! LOL. That guy just got a TON of PR marketing! Jabs Stamp of Approval!
One of the best shops you've recorded in a long time. Great prices
Hi, enjoy your videos. That owner is right to make money speculating in this case on cards one needs to understand how markets work and study the market that you want to speculate in. In theory markets are driven by rational self interest. In practice markets are driven by the emotions of the market participants. Any way keep you and your bro keep making that great content. Ps throwback Thursdays is my fave
Great shop & fantastic deal! I need to put that place on my road trip list.
Good job helping this guy out . Word of mouth goes a long way
Did you ever stop in at TNT collectibles before he closed down? The one in Monroeville use to be my go to in my childhood
Wish I lived closer to Uniontown, I'd swing by. For me, that's going to be about a 2.5 hour drive.
Great pickup and yes vintage cards are awesome!
This guy is the best! I wish I lived close enough to go there
Best video ever! That owner was awesome. Hope he gets a RUclips up and running soon.
This guy has such passion for what he does. Erik, I love your videos. Please don’t fall victim to the trap of the flashy RUclips standard of glitz and clickbait.
Thank you! I like to think that when I do click bait, it's usually true and relevant to the content in the video.
Awsome card shop. Wish I lived closer to PA.
That guy was awesome ! Definitely going to check out his online store! Awesome buster posey though great pick ups!
Awesome pickups, cool store, another great video.
You got a crazy deal, if I lived in pa I would definitely go here.
Wow Jabs this guy was right on when he said watch the wax cards will make a comeback! Hahaha
