I feel like this album has that dreamy lightweight quality of Sweetener infused with the maturity of a grown woman and some serious introspection from Ariana herself! I love itttt. My favorites are the boy is mine and imperfect for you. I like that the vocals are pretty understated for Ariana's standards because it really puts the focus on the lyrics and her evolution as an artist.
Wow this is an excellent way to describe the mix of sounds. Sweetner is my fav because of the playfulness, the exploration of new sounds. I think she did an awesome job marrying her sound we love and know her for but also trying somethings different & connecting with us in a new way.
For some reason, this album feels very refreshing, idk why .I listened to it today during my train ride to uni very fiting vibe . There were some songs that did feel kinda generic but I will always appreciate Ariana's vocal arrangements those are always heavenly, and I also enjoyed the songwriting . Definitely up there in her discography . Great video, as always ☀️❤
eternal sunshine is her best album , a 10/10. this was such a mature body of work. and the fact that she wrote and produced the entire album with max goes to show what a musical genius she is. in awe of her always. and the mv for we cant be friends made me BURST out crying. something ab this record feels SO personal and relatable and the concept behind this album is incredible too. goosebumps throughout.. never heard something like this from her before.
The maturity and growth in the music and lyricism is everything i could want out of her. I’ve been a fan since before Yours truly and it’s amazing how this far into her career she’s showing us new parts of herself and claiming stake in the fact that she’s a musical genius. People need to put respect on her name!
@@mojojomarrnah it’s wild how y’all love ppl who aren’t morally correct and lack values. ariana doesn’t deserve any praise. she’s worse than the avg citizen
Celebrities aren't dumb. They know if they have a scandal all they have to do is come out with a good body of work artistically, do good in their field etc and people will no longer care. People are fickle.
I like her new album. Is it her best overall? Depends on individuals metrics of what they define as „best“. To me the „Dangerous Woman“ album is unbeatable because for me personally this was her most iconic, most popstar-esque work. Eternal sunshine feels like a more intimate and more sophisticated maturing of the „Positions“ album, but I wouldn’t say this is tour-material. It overall is laid-back, driving in your car listening to this album.
Heyy omg you are so quick bestie LMAOO .. this album is honestly so different from her previous albums.. in a good way.. I feel like it showcases Ariana’s growth, maturity, and the album feels more refined and sophisticated.. not to write a whole essay but I feel like this is the best representation of what a 7th studio album should be like, especially coming from a pop artist.. its more subdued, relaxed, and has that new theme (just a hint of it) where everyone is now doing this dance, house, electronic revival and I am here for it!! Luv your vids ❤❤
I was up til 5 am😭😭it absolutely shows her artistic growth, i was able to listen to it in the car on a drive this morning and wow. I felt alot of this music in my soul. An indescribable feeling & damn it’s so perfect for it being a 7th studio album. She killed it. Also thank youu🥰
I love the album. It just feels so mature, has the R&B feels just like Thank U Next but the beat like sweetener, feels deep, fun, beautiful harmonies and it just makes me happy to see Ariana so grateful and at peace with herself in the interviews she is doing. I really like imperfect for you because it is just a bit different. I love the harmonies in Eternal Sunshine and the into gives me just the savest feeling, the chordss
I TRULY LOVED THIS ALBUM. my top 3 is: 1. bye 2. we cant be friends 3. supernatural i wish i could listen to this album for the first time forever tbh 🥹 loved your ranking btw 💅
Not a fan, don’t like Ari as a person but I love (some) of her music! Also, home wrecking doesn’t make people happy, it just synthetically fills the void and saves them from being lonely when they get “bored” or their relationship isn’t working out. It’s like a twisted coping mechanism for something they haven’t addressed yet (which is odd because I could’ve sworn Ari had a therapist… her therapist must be Jada Smith 🤔)
This album has Sweetener's sound mixed with some of the 'adult vibes' of positions and then an extra level of storytelling and connection I loved that so much.
after so many listens of this album, i’ve come to the conclusion that she’s told 2 stories in this album. in intro, she talked about being unsure and unhappy in her relationship and about how she possibly met someone new that makes her feel happy. all the tracks from bye - eternal sunshine, talk ab her relationship with dalton and how shitty it was and all the hurt and pain she felt. whereas supernatural - the boy is mine she revisits the idea of meeting someone new and how she is not going to fight her feeling and fly, true story and the boy is mine is about the media and how they painted her as a certain person and her playing into the character they set her out to be. after yes, and? we get the aftermath of her actions and decisions after choosing to leave her relationship and finding someone new. this album is imo her best album in every aspect of musical artistry.
I don’t think We Can’t Be Friends is generic at all! I think it nailed that feeling of grief from the movie. It makes sense that she chose that one to do the music video around.
she didn’t just write most, MY SISTA WROTE ALL THESE SONGS BY HERSELF!!!!! that alone was so impressive to me considering how well written this album was, absolute lyrical masterpiece. it definitely knocked positions and sweetener out of the top spots for me 😭 this was so new yet so… nostalgic. it felt like all her old albums in one yet also like such a new ari. i absolutely adore this album
She explored almost every facet of her artistry, like you can tell this album was HER. She produced, wrote , had stunning vocals. Her emotions , the acting in the we can’t be friends mv. She’s a force
This album is definitely her best lyrically. Its personally not in my top 3, mostly because it’s a bit too heavy for me to listen to as much as her other ones. Dangerous Woman, Sweetener, and Positions are still my top 3 albums of hers. My top 3 on this album are: supernatural, the boy is mine, and ordinary things. True story does come close though. Ps, I loved your review! Keep it up!!
The taste!! It is definitely a heavy listen but agree it is her strongest album lyrically and i love that. Supernatural is growing on me! It’s my fav pop hit on the album. Thank you so much for watching my video😊
I understand why some people don’t like the album and I get that, she really didn’t put any filler songs and some people love those but I think Ari did a great job of just putting out what she wanted people to take away from the album. But regardless I give it a 9/10 bye, supernatural, the boy is mine and eternal sunshine are my favorite songs.
after mv wcbf is my fav song by ari. and ari fans know how hard it is to choose a song as fav by ari. and It now holds a special place in my heart. This song is about to be bigger than 7 rings
“Imperfect for you” surprised my ear, I think it’s my favourite. It’s hauntingly ethereal. I enjoyed the album, I still prefer Positions. Also…no features!! ES & TUN are her only no feature albums. It’s also her shortest ever album, only 35 minutes.
The album was an instant classic. The songwriting, the storytelling and the maturity she has shown on this album is immaculate. Every song hits (minus the interlude although it was essential as a transition). But yeah Eternal Sunshine was the AOTY for me.
12:44 This easily was her best song on that album. The melody feels so transcendent, it gives me chills. And the lyrics really speak to me. Supposedly Ariana even said this is her favorite track on the album... I'm pretty sure I know what the intention was behind the song but the vibe I get from it is very different. To me it expresses an undying love that transcends lifetimes. Even when you forget a past love you end up meeting them again and falling in love again. The chorus "I'll wait for your love" is expressing that to me. It's not a possessive love or an expectation, rather her love is her truth. "Me and my truth sit in silence." And so that truth remains with her, "waiting" to bloom again. On the other hand, when I look at all the lyrics of the song it seems to be expressing something darker, like "annoyance." Lol. He can't hope to understand her, "How could you even try?" And he paints her as something she's not, "But at least I look this good" 😂 She waits for him to like her again despite their break up, because she knows he can't help but continue to paint her as something she's not. To see her as representing something he wants her to be. This also unintentionally addresses the topic of parasocial behavior, whether it's fans of Ariana, or viewers and content creators. People develop this one-sided relationship based on assumptions and the idea of the person. They believe they really know the person when it's based on little to no real interaction.
Agreed and great analysis! The melody and lyrics have this ethereal yet somehow nostalgic vibe, almost like a song from a dream. This track was the standout for me as well
this album was so magical and it felt so complete even tho it was short. i know that it’s gonna be one i could listen to a thousand times and still get something new and moving from it with each listen. this video was so well made and i loved all of your thoughts! definitely gonna subscribe 💞💞
The emotional intensity with which the new album hit me, is so overwhelming that it's almost scary. These tracks were truly needed for her and everybody and I connect to it so deeply. It gives me a more mature, centered yet fragile Ari and I'm here for it. (Even though the entire dating backstory is haunting...)
My faves were “Bye “ , “The boy Is mine “ , “ supernatural” “we can’t be friends”. Bye and The boy is Mine being my Faves . I love when Ariana does rnb type of songs and that Bye was too cute for me not to love
I love some of the songs on this album for sure, but I feel compelled to note loudly that Jhene Aiko also did the songs "Eternal Sunshine" and "Spotless Mind" on her album Souled Out and to me personally she captured the concept much, much better than Ariana did. So that kind of made it less mind-blowing for me 🤷♀ I also feel like there's some pretty significant missing pieces in the story she's trying to tell. All she did for me in essence was imply that she wasn't thrilled to fail at another relationship, Dalton probably also moved on very quickly, but he didn't really do anything to her it just didn't work out, and now she's in love again. With some sprinkles of "I'm super independent" and "at this point breaking up is muscle memory for me" that told me nothing.
And to be clear I adore her and don't actually run around sprinkling "hOmEwReCkEr" at her (I reserve that one for the cheater themselves thanks!). I just didn't find it as mindblowing as it was implying to be. The struggle reflected was very minimal, particularly compared to albums like Sweetener. But the production on some of the tracks was really nice.
Oooo I didn’t even think of Jhene’s songs but I absolutely love those records. Because it wasn’t in my head at the time of listening, i’ve sat with these songs & it’s hard for me to even see those together bc sonically they’re so different. Also i think the subject matter is clear but purposely vague at who she’s discussing. Im seeing a lot of ppl as interpreting a song as if it’s about dalton while a group of people think maybe the same song is about Ethan. I think in some ways her being raw with her emotions probably don’t make sense. To be fair, as ppl i think if we were to put such complex feelings of heartache, loss, and conflict down on paper a lot of it would sound contradictory or confusing. Maybe it’s the way it was executed for you but for me oddly enough it made sense and I think I was able to apply it to my ownn life in some ways
If you pay attention in the beggining of eternal sunshine the track, she says “you were supposed to be here with me” after the laught and before the breath
Also just from a technical point of view this album is perfection. The vocals are mixed perfectly, the production is 10/10. The album just sounds so. damn. good.
I think the production on “imperfect for you” is meant to sound like things are a little off, but in a way that still sounds good. It’s imperfect, but it works
I think it's my favourite which is iMPOSSIBLE to say because yes i am a good old dangerous woman stan (have your opinions) but it's just the perfect mix of the whole inspiration + sweetener's R&B + thank u next & like i love it so much. I'm really glad it wasn't an extension of positions (well not extension but like you know, my everything & yours truly), I just loved the R&B style she went for in sweetener more than in positions.
Imperfect for you gives the vibe of when the rain ends and there’s still rain clouds in the sky but it’s clearing. You can still smell the petrichor on the pavement but the sun is just beyond the clouds ready to peak out… the whole album gives Drizzle Rain Heavy rain Thunderstorm Settling storm Sunshine Idk that’s kinda how it felt. But this album has so many meanings to me. It doesn’t mean just one thing and ppl shouldn’t take it JUST how it’s presented because there’s a tun of different paths you could go down with what it really means. I will say I’m separating the art from the artist because the controversy is just too messy. She makes beautiful music and this is probably in my top 2 favourite albums from her.
I have mixed feelings on it, but I will admit the subject matter & controversy surrounding it does cloud my judgement on it because of the places it came from. However I didn’t doubt for a moment this album was going to be well written, sung, and produced as usual.
NGL it was a fantastic album. But that doesn’t erase what she and Ethan Slater did and that she’s gaslighting the public into feeling sorry for her. I’m not buying it. For those of you who are dedicated fans and are standing by and supporting her no matter what (kind of a swiftie situation), your idols are NOT perfect. They mess up and they are not immune from being assholes. They should be called out when they do horrible things. Just as any public figure should. They chose their career and they have to lie in the bed they made.
I completely agree with you BUT, in this situation I don’t fully believe she wrecked a marriage. Because like first of all, ALL of this is based of some random article that an Ariana grande hater wrote 😭 there’s no proof whatsoever of Ariana supposedly “holding Ethan’s baby” or her and dalton having double dates with them, neither is there any proof of lily Jay actually coming out and saying that all these rumours and accusations are true. Though yes the timeline does seem tight, that is only the timeline WE know, nobody actually knows what happened behind closed doors. People have always wanted to hate on Ariana and i assume they saw this article and ran with it because it baffles me how so many people just put all their trust in some random article? Honestly if that’s what people have done it just means theyve always wanted to find a reason to hate her, there’s always 2 sides of a story and we only know one that came from a completely unreliable, biased source I also believe she does not at all wanna gaslight the public, she uses music as an outlet for her trauma, which is a good thing and like kind of the whole point of creating music anyways. All she does is explain her truth and side of the story, on her insta story today she even expressed how she doesn’t want anybody attacking her ex husband or anyone else that gets mentioned in the album based on our interpretation. A lot of people always make her seem like some evil crook with a cruel incentive to ruin peoples lives when all she wants to do is to just make music for her fans, so I don’t understand why people have this idea of her trying to gaslight people into being on her side. People take things wayyy too seriously (Omg btw I’m so sorry for this massive paragraph I just wanna let u know I’m not attacking u in any way I respect ur opinion I just wanted to talk ab it😭)
@@Sheinkid I understand that. And everyone should be given the benefit of the doubt unless there’s concrete evidence period. My only issue is the fact that Ariana has a history of this kind of behavior, so I guess that’s why I didn’t have too much of a hard time believing it, especially after seeing the timeline of things and the fact that Lily Jay told many outlets that she was COMPLETELY blindsided by the whole thing. (This is from multiple sources btw, not just some… Ariana hating news source? Not sure which one you are talking about - I’m not aware of such a news outlet that exists…) The fact that Ariana already has a song (break up with your girlfriend) boasting this stuff - and yes I know it’s just a song but my goodness doesn’t it throw gasoline on the fire? I also just find it incredibly ODD that Ariana, after liking their posts, and spending time with them, even if there was technically no “cheating”, is so ready to jump in there and start dating him almost right away. Like with the timeline, you cannot tell me that at least one of them at least had their eye on the other before the official divorces. This idea is just me having some grace on her but to be clear, I do not believe it again, given her history. The public in general does direct unwarranted hate towards Ariana (things like holding her responsible for Mac Miller’s sobriety was just idiotic). But something like this should be universally condemned. I’m not saying to HATE on Ariana but to praise her boasting about these things, even if just through songs, is concerning and regrettable. I know her fans want to believe the best about her and that she would never do something like that, but to go out of one’s way to find excuses for her and enlarge any space for doubt, no matter how tiny those spaces are, is being in denial and making an idol out of a human who, in their eyes, can do no wrong and should not take accountability for anything. I think majority of the songs on this album were excellent! Even yes, and. But the message in there is that, yes, people don’t know the full truth, but even if they did, “your business is yours and mine is mine” and “why do you care so much whose d**k I ride?”. When those two things, and especially the latter were not the MAIN issue in this whole thing. It’s the fact that the evidence is so strong of what she did, that we can confidently, as a community, say “this is wrong”. There is no “her truth”, only the truth. Yes there is her side to it but it doesn’t change the facts. (BTW I ALSO WRITE NOVELS IN THE CHAT SO don’t mind me 😊)
@@cinephile0620 oh yeah i definitely understand u!! I too think celebrities should be held accountable for their wrongdoings, but i think that people don’t know how to do it in a respectful manner, I also defo agree with you with the fact that atleast one of them were ready to jump into the relationship, however I think that although I can see why people see the lack of morality Ari had, I believe most of the responsibility should go on Ethan’s shoulders and not hers. Since they were both fully split up, Ethan was the one that decided he wanted to move on from HER and in the end of the day it’s his responsibility since lily was HIS wife. Oh and btw the article I was talking about was the page 6 article, the author of that article was an Ariana grande hater who’d always post really horrible things ab Ariana on Twitter and other celebs like Taylor Swift which is why I said that article must’ve been biased, and then other other news outlets decided to jump on. I think that if Ethan and his wife was still together then it is 100% Arianas wrong doing too but since they were split up if Ethan wanted to leave Lily for Ariana it was HIS CHOICE, people act like Ariana held him at gunpoint and manipulated him into having a divorce. Also I don’t know why people feel the need to hate? There’s other ways of condemning people instead of spreading so much negative energy and unkindness, at the end of the day we are all human and life is about making mistakes and learning from them, that’s why I always defend Ariana because even though I think what she did was immoral and she SHOULD be held accountable, it hurts me seeing people say horrible things like how she deserved to get cheated on and divorced, speak bad about her body and just use the excuse that she “deserves it” when she doesn’t, I’ve even seen people making fun out of the Manchester bombing saying she should’ve died and it’s her karma. The media makes up lies and exaggerated, and people lack maturity and human decency to be respectful, what is anyone going to get out of hating, being rude and cruel? (Sorry if I’m yapping I was in a car and music was playing really loud so like my heads all over the place 💀😭)
@@Sheinkid agreed. Thanks for pointing out the source. Hate is def NOT cool. I’ve also always believed that Ethan was obv the one at fault. Don’t think it’s cool when women get the hate for all of it and men are never held accountable for their actions. My biggest concern is that this is something that Ari has a clear pattern with, which is neither good for her or the people involved, so I think that it’s necessary that she possibly seek out help to deal with this issue head on instead of putting out songs that boast about it is all. I loved the rest of the album and found it to be vulnerable which can be very healthy and therapeutic. But I just found “Yes, and” and other songs like “BUWYG I’m Bored” to be relatively unhelpful and actually damaging. I’ve always loved Ariana, since the Nickelodeon days, even through her imperfect moments like the donut shop scandal, etc. I’ve accepted the fact that celebs are human and going to fall short constantly. But I will always listen to her music because she’s damn good and I love her. I just think that when things like this happen, especially when a song is written trying to make it sound like it’s not a big deal, we should be vocal about why we think it’s wrong otherwise people might think it’s okay to do this and it’s not. I look at it like watching your favorite actor getting caught saying something racially insensitive. Certainly they don’t deserve hatred but they shouldn’t be applauded either. They should take the criticism, block out the non helpful trolls, and look at it as a lesson learned. Celebs are the biggest influences on culture and we need to remind ourselves when things like this happen that 1. they should not be idols because they are not perfect and 2. We shouldn’t model our behavior after them because they’re famous, and acknowledge when they do something unequivocally bad. Love for Ari only on my end. I want her to get the help she needs to nip this pattern in the butt and I just don’t think the song “Yes, and” was the way to go about it. But everyone can have their own opinion and agree to disagree. I see the many sides of it. It’s a complex issue.
@@cinephile0620 yess completely agree! I don’t really know what her intentions were with BUWYG and yes and were but she should’ve known that people were going to take it seriously and interpret it in a bad way 😭 I mean in an interview I’m pretty sure she said buwyg was just for fun, and tbf yes and didn’t really give off “yeah I’m accused of wrecking a marriage and what about it” vibes to me I felt like it was just an uplifting song but I’m not surprised people took it the wrong way. I don’t think she really cares about what people think of her anymore and just does what she wants and I don’t blame her for that, whatever she does she will ALWAYS receive criticism and hate for it, she was the reason for macs death, it’s her fault those people in the bombing died, she’s too overweight, then she’s too underweight, it all seems really sad to me tbf. I dont actually think her problem is STEALING men, I think it’s her wanting them and trying to get involved, because in the past what I’ve noticed is that she’s never actually cheated with a man, it’s just that she has a repeated pattern of instantly getting with a man after they have just broken up with their partner. like big Sean, even naya said herself “I never said they cuddled, I never said he cheated, I just said she was sat on a sofa” Ariana didn’t get with Sean whilst he was dating naya, but when naya and Sean break up only a couple weeks later Ariana and Sean start dating and I think THAT is where the immoral part comes in, but I feel like people overlook that and can’t be bothered to actually look at the situation deeply so they just say she’s a manstealer but she kinda isn’t, she only gets with someone after they’re broken up with, so I feel like because of that she thinks that what she is doing is okay and hypothetically speaking it is, but it’s immoral because it proves she keeps an eye on them and chases after them once they’re single, so it kind of also makes me feel like having a man makes her feel validated. Either way i defo agree with you that she does need to seek out help with that, I think it all goes down to her seeking validation by being with a man.
Finally someone gets what she was trying to reference. I was like does no one get the reference. Im so happy you mentioned it because no one is getting the connection between the flim and with her. ❤
Yes! I feel like that’s so important in understanding the depth, and the time that she put into this project. I felt like I couldn’t mention one without the other.
It’s not doing it for me but perhaps I need to re listen. The album didn’t feel fresh or new to me, it just felt like a variation or a retread of sounds she has previously explored. Lyrically I was underwhelmed. Don’t wanna break up again at first seems to be discussing her marriage but now I’m not so sure. Marriages are not situationships. I can’t sympathise with her on this record the way I did on all of her previous records. Maybe I’m just tired of break up songs idk. Yes and still goes hard though, that track is a bop.
Regarding Don’t want to break up again? A lot of ppl are confused on who she’s talking about . It think it was done intentionally but in an interview recently she did say that some of these songs have real situations intertwined with ideas pulled from other places (like a lot of songs) so i knew it would be kinda hard to decode things
My top 3 songs are 1. Bye 2. Eternal Sunshine 3. Intro (End of the World) I could genuinely, Dance, Sing, and Cry to Bye all at the same time!! It is one of my top songs by her. I love how the lyrics are so simple but it’s just full of meaning behind it
Positions is my favourite album from her but eternal sunshine is a great album as well. And I appreciate that it’s different than what I would’ve expected from her.
funny how these channels posted abt her not being a girl's girl then suddenly change the vibes they give off to her just because she dropped a dope album
Very much so, which I think was awesome. Especially bc people always said her enunciation needed improvement, I think this was a great way to switch it up🙌🏽
@@CamrynSuzanne absolutely. I feel like her vocals have definitely become clearer since she started using theatre methods. In Broadway (which she used to do) they really emphasize enunciation. Seems like she took some lessons for wicked and it paid off in her music
Okay, you've convinced me to give the album a listen! I really wish we didn't care about the personal lives of any of these artists. Personally, I don't want to come across any stories about my faves cause the art is so personal to me, I don't want anything to affect how I see it. I can't wait to see the end of tabloid culture. It's so creepy how entitled people think they are to the personal lives of total strangers. Plus, the stories are always sensationalised and rarely ever positive 😂
I’ve done a tarot read on her and have watched multiple tarot videos on her to see if they can confirm what I saw but omg Ariana’s career will definitely be on the downfall . I don’t think she’ll last more than 5 years. And it’s a damn shame cause she’s such a great artist. But that combination of the unveiling of her dating habits and aging in Hollywood will cause a downfall in her career and it’s such a. Shame . Such a shame
you actually believe that bs? eternal sunshine got big after like two hours, most of its songs occupy the top ten on apple music, it went #1 in a hundred countries, and received amazing critical acclaim.
@@gweters I’m talking about the longevity of the record . And the longevity of her career. Just cause you don’t have your Third eye open doesn’t mean everyone else does.
although i wish this album was longer because she hasnt released an album in 3 years. this is a really good album. the vibes were just it. and i feel like it was released at a VERY good time not just for her but for listeners too. she managed to do a lot of things just within 35 minutes in her iconic ariana way. her vocals are just as good as always. production and instrumentals were fire. and the aesthetic of the entire thing is really good
I love your video! 🥹 For me this is my favorite Ariana's album. It's a tender and intimate record, also Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is one of my favorite movies ever. My top 3 songs are: - eternal sunshine - we can't be friends (wait for your love) - imperfect for you Special mention to ordinary things ❤️
Awe thank you! Yes this album gives a different feel than her other albums and i love the artistic growth. The concept of it all and tying it into the album made it that much better
I feel like this was the album Ariana needed to make to explain her side of the story. While I personally don't like her relationship with Ethan Slater (that decision is up to her), I do like how she discussed a few topics, like her divorce with Dalton, her new relationship, and how the songs seem to answer the question: "How can I tell if I'm in the right relationship?" I wish it could have been longer tbh, but I'll take what she will give us, especially since it's been so long since she dropped her last album.
I believe "the boy is mine" is NOT about Ethan, if it's about anyone it's probably about Dalton, but it might have not to be with anyone since she only made the song so she could have smth like "fantasize" in the album (fantazise wasn't about anyone specifically either)
I agree about the “generic pop releases” thing. “Yes, And?” was so different and I had kind of hoped for an album full of masterpieces like that. And there for sure are some. But there’s a couple radio hits too, and I really think Ari needs to understand she could have a radio hit without sounding like a radio hit
Yess!!! This exactly. I felt like she was choosing the songs that SOUND like a radio hit when it’s like…girl you’re Ariana grande any song you push would get rotated. I would’ve loved Bye as a single or if she went the pop route, Supernatural was a stronger song to me for single material
@@CamrynSuzanne YES! Bye would have been such a great single! 😫🤩🤩 such a banger. It’s interesting because (atleast on Apple Music) that song seems to be doing really well on streaming.. labels sometimes just really don’t have a clue I think.
This album was pretty ok. As usual with Ariana, I had to let a couple of the songs grow on me. It's funny how this girl dropped an album to make us see her as a victim when I'm pretty sure Dalton has a fat NDA on him so he can't tell his side of the story. Not saying he didn't do some toxic shit but come on... We've seen her history. Frankly, I don't believe shit she says. Celebrities are the best liars. I will be looking forward to when she leaves that disgusting man in the dust though.
this album sounds great, but i have to admit i do think it’s a lot of style over substance. she doesnt touch on any new themes in a way that is fully realized. the reptition of themes and surface level self examination doesnt make me believe she is actually growing as an artist veruss pretending to under new sounds. and nothing wrong with focusing on style but it rubs me the wrong way to portray yourself as growing, maturing, etc yet there isnt substance to back that up
I think that was really mid tbh. If Ariana wasn't famous I don't think ppl would be saying "Best one, 10/10...etc". Let's get real, Ariana has a real good portfolio, but that last one sounds unfinished and experimental. Eternal Sunshine vs Positions who wins?
i liked we can’t be friends a lot coz i instantly thought it’s lyrically directed at us, as the outside speculators. It gave very NewJeans vibe with the whole anti-parasocial thing saying that she likes to pretend but can’t actually be our friend, we don’t really know her and she knows that the public perception tides will turn, we will like her again, and she will wait for our love
do you hound celebrities like Chris Brown as much as you hound Ariana. Because he actually committed a crime. Who cares that Ariana hurt someone’s feelings
the fact that the source that provided all those things said "there is no hard evidence" at last solidifying how every thing they said was a lie and they basically and mercilessly defamed Ariana. Your statement is contradictory as youll believe anything without ANY hard evidence 😂😂😂😂
I was looking for someone else who wasn’t a huge fan of ‘We Can’t Be Friends’ bc that’s EXACTLY how I felt about it too. Everyone else seems to love it, had me thinking I was crazy 😅
Then you're on the right side of history, unless you mean 'I couldn't care less', then you're excusing her homewrecker behaviour, this girl is a menace.
@@duckface8425don’t listen to her, that’s your given right. But until we decide as a nation to overthrow our government whose behavior is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING also.. idgaf, she doesn’t personally effect me.
I feel you about her vocals being drowned out on The Boy Is Mine because the background vocals after the bridge are so smooth 🤌🏾✨ I hope they don’t get overlooked. it’s my fav on the album.
I really like Bye and I Don’t Want to Break Up Again. And she wrote most songs on the track. Some of the songs were boring, but she seemed to be letting us in on an diary entry of hers. It felt personal. But I still believe she was a homewrecker but talent is talent.
Bye is amazing. It’s such a vibe mixed with the powerful vocals. And Don’t want to break up again is a grower. I listened to it in the car this morning & i was obsessed. It’s a new fav
How you still believe she's a homewrecker? TMZ admitted that there was no real evidence and that Ethan and his ex-wife broke up in November 2022, and him and Ariana got together in July 2023.
@@FortuneLuvsshe isnt! ethan and his ex wife seperated in november of 2022 and ariana and ethan got together in july of 2023 ❤️❤️ nice try though!! and lily already confirmed that the articles that came out about the "scandal" and what was said wasn't true, but believe whatever you want troll ❤️
I love this album so much. It's a gorgeous work of art. True Story is on absolute repeat. "Yes, and" is the worst song to me though. But this is her best album to me. "We cant be friends" grew on me and the video is heart wrenching 😭😭 On the other hand, she's still a weird woman for her infidelity habit. Girl clearly needs more therapy to be risking it all for that diaper wearing menace.
I totally agree with the track eternal sunshine sounds like a mixture of nasa & everytime but I’d also throw in there that there is a little hint of better off as well. Like if those three had a baby it would be the eternal sunshine track!
I somehow assumed it would be boppier and more dancy, so sonically, I have to admit my initial reaction is feeling kinda underwhelmed, because most songs are more dreamy - and the more upbeat songs tend to fall back on these cheap sounding trap snares and hi-hats. I'm just over that sound tbh but that could be just me. Maybe I just got my hopes up given how "yes, and?" sounds. Anyways, it's still a solid project and the concept and message are awesome!! I'm sure I'll warm up to the sound over time.
Yes and definitely was what I thought the vibe would be but secretly I’m so happy it wasn’t. I didn’t want that sound the entire project but I completely understand how you felt a little let down bc sonically it’s even different than i imagined
OMG SAME boy is mine & imperfect for you are my fav too

The "healing from somebody,or something we don't see just right" became so much more palpable
This album was so different but so needed but also so good
Yes! Very diff than anything she’s dropped
a lot of people r saying 'we cant be friends' is their least fave which is funny cuz personlly its one of my favs
Thats crazyyyyy, who doesn’t like it?? Smh
I will throw bows for that song.
i wouldn't say so bc the song is performing better than yes, and? and many are saying that it should have been the lead single instead
Yes refreshing is the word! Shedding the baggage, renewing oneself, finding yourself. It resonated with me in my own way. Thank you for watching!
this album was 10/10 hands down her best album. PERFECT timing
I think it’s top 3 fasho! It has potential to be top i just need to sit with it for like a year
It deserves a 0 garbage
eternal sunshine is her best album , a 10/10. this was such a mature body of work. and the fact that she wrote and produced the entire album with max goes to show what a musical genius she is. in awe of her always. and the mv for we cant be friends made me BURST out crying. something ab this record feels SO personal and relatable and the concept behind this album is incredible too. goosebumps throughout.. never heard something like this from her before.
The maturity and growth in the music and lyricism is everything i could want out of her. I’ve been a fan since before Yours truly and it’s amazing how this far into her career she’s showing us new parts of herself and claiming stake in the fact that she’s a musical genius. People need to put respect on her name!
It's more like a 3/10

Yes it feels like such a fun blend of some of her best albums, however so fresh at the same time!
I TRULY LOVED THIS ALBUM.

2. we cant be friends
3. supernatural

Don’t even hate Ari, because I’m honestly a fan. But I don’t understand how home wrecking makes you happy.
Thank u for not being obsessive
Not a fan, don’t like Ari as a person but I love (some) of her music! Also, home wrecking doesn’t make people happy, it just synthetically fills the void and saves them from being lonely when they get “bored” or their relationship isn’t working out. It’s like a twisted coping mechanism for something they haven’t addressed yet (which is odd because I could’ve sworn Ari had a therapist… her therapist must be Jada Smith 🤔)
This album has Sweetener's sound mixed with some of the 'adult vibes' of positions and then an extra level of storytelling and connection I loved that so much.
Yes it’s a lovely blend of both of those sounds🙌🏽
after so many listens of this album, i’ve come to the conclusion that she’s told 2 stories in this album. in intro, she talked about being unsure and unhappy in her relationship and about how she possibly met someone new that makes her feel happy. all the tracks from bye - eternal sunshine, talk ab her relationship with dalton and how shitty it was and all the hurt and pain she felt. whereas supernatural - the boy is mine she revisits the idea of meeting someone new and how she is not going to fight her feeling and fly, true story and the boy is mine is about the media and how they painted her as a certain person and her playing into the character they set her out to be. after yes, and? we get the aftermath of her actions and decisions after choosing to leave her relationship and finding someone new. this album is imo her best album in every aspect of musical artistry.
I don’t think We Can’t Be Friends is generic at all! I think it nailed that feeling of grief from the movie. It makes sense that she chose that one to do the music video around.
still generic

Dangerous Woman, Sweetener, and Positions are still my top 3 albums of hers. My top 3 on this album are: supernatural, the boy is mine, and ordinary things. True story does come close though. I understand why some people don’t like the album and I get that, she really didn’t put any filler songs and some people love those but I think Ari did a great job of just putting out what she wanted people to take away from the album. “Imperfect for you” surprised my ear, I think it’s my favourite. It’s hauntingly ethereal. I enjoyed the album, I still prefer Positions. Also…no features!! ES & TUN are her only no feature albums. It’s also her shortest ever album, only 35 minutes.
Yess hauntingly ethereal is a perfect way to describe that! It was a very short album but tbh it didn’t throw me off!
The album was an instant classic. The songwriting, the storytelling and the maturity she has shown on this album is immaculate. Every song hits (minus the interlude although it was essential as a transition). But yeah Eternal Sunshine was the AOTY for me.
supernatural, true story ,boy is mine, imperfect for you are my faves so far
Nice picks!!

Yeppp Ariana and R&b are a match made in heaven!

Idk that’s kinda how it felt.
Wow what a poetic way to describe that, it is a perfect representation of that song and tbh makes it even more beautiful from that perspective.
Wow is right! Described beautifully
I have mixed feelings on it, but I will admit the subject matter & controversy surrounding it does cloud my judgement on it because of the places it came from. However I didn’t doubt for a moment this album was going to be well written, sung, and produced as usual.
the...controversy that ended up not being true at all? and isn't any of our business anyway?
Honestly if that’s what people have done it just means theyve always wanted to find a reason to hate her, there’s always 2 sides of a story and we only know one that came from a completely unreliable, biased source
I also believe she does not at all wanna gaslight the public, she uses music as an outlet for her trauma, which is a good thing and like kind of the whole point of creating music anyways. People take things wayyy too seriously
(Omg btw I’m so sorry for this massive paragraph I just wanna let u know I’m not attacking u in any way I respect ur opinion I just wanted to talk ab it😭)
@@Sheinkid I understand that.
Yes there is her side to it but it doesn’t
change the facts.
Ariana should do more conceptual albums. This is her best album.
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOUR THOUGHTS
I hope you enjoy!!!
You're so well spoken!!
Thank you!!
in my opinion this was a 100/10 album, no skips, everythign was beautiful. I LOVED IT. Its her best album.
What was your favorite album before this one came out?!
Loved can’t be friends. With it especially referencing Mac miller in the music video. Beautiful
My top 3 songs are
1. Bye
2. Eternal Sunshine
3. Intro (End of the World)
I could genuinely, Dance, Sing, and Cry to Bye all at the same time!! It is one of my top songs by her. I love how the lyrics are so simple but it’s just full of meaning behind it
Positions is my favourite album from her but eternal sunshine is a great album as well. And I appreciate that it’s different than what I would’ve expected from her.
I wish I could literally rewind time and listen to this for the first time.
It’s truly a moment in time!
funny how these channels posted abt her not being a girl's girl then suddenly change the vibes they give off to her just because she dropped a dope album
Im simply reported on the convo , i didn’t take a harsh stance. Said in my video imma still listen to the music…
@@CamrynSuzanne yea sure
Was waiting on this vid💋
Glad I could put it up so quickly!
Yess , I also got a lot of Broadway esque , theatre type of vocal arrangement. I was like hold up ✋🏽 , I like dis 😩😂
During the Wicked press tour, Ari said that the boy is mine could (keyword could) be about Elphaba. She also said eternal sunshine is a gelphie song
“bye”, reminds me of love language and test drive combined 😩
Great comparison and the funny thing is i love both of those songs😭
Girl you're such a dream 🤩 I subbed so fast! 💖
Awe thank you🥺🥺🥺 I appreciate it!
although i wish this album was longer because she hasnt released an album in 3 years. this is a really good album. the vibes were just it. and i feel like it was released at a VERY good time not just for her but for listeners too. she managed to do a lot of things just within 35 minutes in her iconic ariana way. her vocals are just as good as always. production and instrumentals were fire. and the aesthetic of the entire thing is really good
We can't be friends is my standout favorite and omg that music video destroyed me 😭
I haven’t listened to the album yet bc I was scared (lol) but damn you make me excited to listen to it!
Yes please do!!!!
So happy be I’m an og of your channel
Thank you!!❤️❤️❤️
Top 5
1. We cant be friends
2. Imperfect for you
3. I wish I hated you
4. Eternal sunshine
5. Ordinary things
❤❤❤
I love your video! 🥹 For me this is my favorite Ariana's album. It's a tender and intimate record, also Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is one of my favorite movies ever.
My top 3 songs are:
- eternal sunshine
- we can't be friends (wait for your love)
- imperfect for you
Special mention to ordinary things ❤️
Awe thank you! Yes this album gives a different feel than her other albums and i love the artistic growth. The concept of it all and tying it into the album made it that much better
I feel like this was the album Ariana needed to make to explain her side of the story. While I personally don't like her relationship with Ethan Slater (that decision is up to her), I do like how she discussed a few topics, like her divorce with Dalton, her new relationship, and how the songs seem to answer the question: "How can I tell if I'm in the right relationship?"
I wish it could have been longer tbh, but I'll take what she will give us, especially since it's been so long since she dropped her last album.
LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEE THIS ALBUM! Can’t believe you didn’t like “ We can’t be friends” first listen I cried my eyes out. This album came at the best time
The music video with it made me connect with it more! It’s still not my fav sonically but that music video….tears were shed
I will be looking forward to when she leaves that disgusting man in the dust though.
this album sounds great, but i have to admit i do think it’s a lot of style over substance. she doesnt touch on any new themes in a way that is fully realized. the reptition of themes and surface level self examination doesnt make me believe she is actually growing as an artist veruss pretending to under new sounds. and nothing wrong with focusing on style but it rubs me the wrong way to portray yourself as growing, maturing, etc yet there isnt substance to back that up
The boy is mine was giving Ciara’s one two step fused with Cassie’s me and you. I just got that vibe from it
Ooo i like that!
I think that was really mid tbh. If Ariana wasn't famous I don't think ppl would be saying "Best one, 10/10...etc". Let's get real, Ariana has a real good portfolio, but that last one sounds unfinished and experimental. Eternal Sunshine vs Positions who wins?
POSITIONS literally wins with just “my hair” and “love language” !
I feel like this is the best album she's ever put out, it's wholesome and the songwriting is amazing
@@Tony_0265 agreed. I also love thank u next
i liked we can’t be friends a lot coz i instantly thought it’s lyrically directed at us, as the outside speculators. It gave very NewJeans vibe with the whole anti-parasocial thing saying that she likes to pretend but can’t actually be our friend, we don’t really know her and she knows that the public perception tides will turn, we will like her again, and she will wait for our love
yall would defend her no matter what, lmfaoo
yall acting like she killed someone and blew up an orphanage calm the fuck down
do you hound celebrities like Chris Brown as much as you hound Ariana. Because he actually committed a crime. Who cares that Ariana hurt someone’s feelings
Exactly. 😂😂😂 what a bunch of losers. When it happens to them, they’ll expect sympathy on TikTok.
if a man cheats: the hate, ridicule and bullying goes to the woman
if a woman cheats: the hate, ridicule and bullying goes to the woman
the fact that the source that provided all those things said "there is no hard evidence" at last solidifying how every thing they said was a lie and they basically and mercilessly defamed Ariana.
Yeahh its kinda growing on me bc the video but im not feelin it like that 😭
I could care less about her personal life. Her music is PERFECTION ❤
Then you're on the right side of history, unless you mean 'I couldn't care less', then you're excusing her homewrecker behaviour, this girl is a menace.
3 of her songs slap though
@@duckface8425 That? ://
@@duckface8425 well some of us are excusing her as a whatever you're describing her
@@duckface8425don’t listen to her, that’s your given right.
Yeah, i wanted to hear her a bit more😳 but the song is a BOP
I really like Bye and I Don’t Want to Break Up Again.
And she wrote most songs on the track. Some of the songs were boring, but she seemed to be letting us in on an diary entry of hers. It felt personal. But I still believe she was a homewrecker but talent is talent.
Bye is amazing. It’s such a vibe mixed with the powerful vocals. And Don’t want to break up again is a grower. I listened to it in the car this morning & i was obsessed. It’s a new fav
How you still believe she's a homewrecker? TMZ admitted that there was no real evidence and that
Ethan and his ex-wife broke
up in November 2022, and him
and Ariana got together in July
2023.
she isnt a homewrecker lol
@@neuvilovely she is
@@FortuneLuvsshe isnt! ethan and his ex wife seperated in november of 2022 and ariana and ethan got together in july of 2023 ❤️❤️ nice try though!! and lily already confirmed that the articles that came out about the "scandal" and what was said wasn't true, but believe whatever you want troll ❤️
I love this album so much. It's a gorgeous work of art. True Story is on absolute repeat. "Yes, and" is the worst song to me though. But this is her best album to me. "We cant be friends" grew on me and the video is heart wrenching 😭😭
On the other hand, she's still a weird woman for her infidelity habit. Girl clearly needs more therapy to be risking it all for that diaper wearing menace.
Supernatural followed by true story??!!! I was NOT READY 👏👏
I totally agree with the track eternal sunshine sounds like a mixture of nasa & everytime but I’d also throw in there that there is a little hint of better off as well.
Like if those three had a baby it would be the eternal sunshine track!
Ooo i like!!
DAMN youre fast!!!
I was up til 5 am🥲🥲🥲 had to!!
Loved this video and your take on this. And my goodness you are absolutely gorgeous💙✨️
Thank yoouu😊😊😊
Another great video lovely one🔥
Thank you 🙌
