What a little jewel of a masterpiece! I only heard this great work yesterday for the first time on the First Night of the Proms in the Royal Albert Hall in London on BBC 2. I love Anton Bruckner's use of the dominant minor 11th and especially his employment of the rarer dominant major 13th serving as an appropriate climax in the drama!
I was there too! Elim Chan, BBC Symphony Orchestra & Chorus were amazing. Ben Nobuto Hallelujah Sim. was great as well. The entire concert was excellent.
