After watching some of your games I would say that your main problems are 2. First, you don't analyze the board deep enough. Second, you lack focus in identifying a strategy. When you placed in the beginning, for example, you noticed the scarcity of wood, but didn't notice the excess of ore. If you did, you would have probably understood that 8-4-10 was a better pick. The reason is simple: the wood on this board is super valuable, AND, which is more important, whatever the 4th picked, you would have gotten ore and wheat on the way back anyways, either on 11-5-6 or 3-6-11 or 3-4-8, having all 5 resources AND, again, pretty much guaranteed road since practically no one else makes wood. With your picks instead you locked yourself in a game where you basically need to pray for the 11 sheep to roll in order to fight for army that was clearly going to be hard to challenge, being everyone on strong ows. Even so, instead of getting the 2nd city you should have ported and bought devs... that's what I mean when I say that you lack of a focused strategy.
Anyway don't worry 2 much about placement games because they don't really mean much... Personally I've just finished mine having won 6 out of 10 and I still got gold I and something like 400ish rank in the world.

Again man…. Stop buying cities without protection. You could’ve bought devs like 6 different times and ported for a brick or city lol
