This past Feb. I developed bursitis in my right hip. I was sent to physical therapy for it and the PT used tens. I also have fibromyalgia and I could not believe how much the Tens helped both things. None of the doctors I have been to ever recommended Tens for my fibro before. I have been suffering with hip pain and lower back pain from the fibro for years now. I bought this exact unit and it is pretty good. Obviously the unit at the PT works better, but for the money, this little unit does pretty well. I am grateful that this works for me because I don't like taking pain meds all the time.
I dug out my old tens machine. I used it for years, wrong, and last night I finally understood how and why so many believe this is the answer to my chronic hip and muscle pain... For the first time, I managed to get the long muscles in my left leg to contract with the electric charge...instantly my muscles relaxed! ( I am bed ridden 22 hrs a day, I have shortening of my tendons and muscles, sciatic nerve damage that is both on the outside of my hip going down the outside of my leg, behind my knee and down the inside to mid calf as well as a similar pain that goes through my genital area, to the hip and down to the knee, behind the knee and again to the outside of my leg to mid calf ) I slept through the night for the first time in 20 years! I fell asleep with it on... 8f you arent doing it right, it's not going to work...I was never a believer before now
I have 1...amazing device...stops me taking so much pain meds that were damaging my liver/kidneys. Really works for me but we are all different i guess.
I had one for years, I wasn't doing it right, and so it never worked for me...last night I tried it again...I put one on my long muscles on my leg, as I was moving the second one around, trying to figure out where to place it, I noticed my muscles contract, and vibrate...this was the first time I actually had the pads in the right spot to get a reaction!!! What a difference it made!!! I slept through the night for the first time in 20 years! Now I'm buying a box of pads, as they used to be reusable contact pads, now they are disposable but they stick better!
I've used a tens unit since before they became available over the counter. I have had chronic pain with fibromyalgia for 24 years. My tens and EMS units takes my pain away. It's a sort of "hurts so good" feeling. I have gotten better using tens treatment because I could be more active and get stronger.
I thought the video was great! I didn't know about the criss-cross. Thanks for helping. I already have a TENS unit and it really helps better now that I watched the video.
Have had a lot of problems with SI joint pain for years and TENS units help a lot. I just got a new one and really need to know the best placement of the pads for SI joint pain...please!! Thank you so much
I use Tens, PRN. If I am going through touch time ( tougher than regular, than I use it. ) It helps, but nothing is a miracle of course, but it does help. It tells you in the directions and diagram where to put, pads. Parallel to each other. This is wonderful how you teach the use of it. Mine does not seem to have that many pads.
Great video! I am learning a lot from these videos 👍 my tens unit is quite large but is very powerful and relaxing, bought it for the EMS and helping with workout but enjoy TENS massage function the most 😀 muscle pain no more!
Just bought one of these from amazon arriving today, I’m a cleaner and suffer from a bad back after I pulled something while weight lifting 7 months ago when I start to clean for example my lower back gets stiff and sore because I’m turning and twisting I really hope this helps as I’ve tried heat pads cold pads and creams etc this is the last resort.
Can u do a video on bertolotti syndrome? It's a congenital change in backs that causes back pain. Maybe stretches for this or strengthening? Ty love u guys!
could you talk about wireless vs wired.. how long do the aaa batteries last in this particular unit you are demonstrating.. ? would one wear a wireless as they go about their day or should one limit the use ? Is there a limit on usage, etc?
I paid $30 bucks for 1. I got it for my husband. And he loves it. Thank God for Amazon. My charge nurse recommended for us to get it we both have back problems. I swear by it
I have read reviews of some TENS/EMS units where ppl say a specific unit/model isn't really a true TENS device even though the product description claims it is. So as a first time buyer, how do i determine any device is a true Tens unit without seeing or using it?
I have extreme pain from a pinched nerve in my upper back to my neck to my arm. I was in the hospital with it and they gave me a steroid pack which didn't do anything. I just purchased myself a little TENS machine and I hope I have the pads in the right area and I hope this makes it go away faster
Does TENS help with stiffness and swelling or just pain? I had total knee replacement six weeks ago. I can manage the pain with ice, but I need something for stiffness and swelling.
So basically it vibrates the area with electricity to wear it over stimulates the nerve sends back and overstimulated response to the brain which cuts off the pain
The brochure that came with the machine is worthless and I can only get so far but I cannot get it to start working so I need some advice on how to get the damn thing to start
I literally just got my TENS unit last night and used it on my hands, it felt pretty good but I have yet to test it on my feet but if I do I'll let you know 😊
William Krumm Look on Amazon and get the pads with the highest ratings. You can renew pads by putting a drop of water on it, let it soak in and then use them like you normally would. I've had pads last for over 10 uses each. Your skin should be clean and you need to store your pads on the plastic trays that come with them in between uses.
I got the icy hot one for christmas, I have used it daily except 2 days, sometimes multiple times per day and haven't had to change the pads yet. I rinse them with a few drops of water daily.
I have suffered with sciatica and spinal canal stenosis for the last 20 year. It's unbearable. I have a tens unit, I just don't know exactly where to put the electrodes where it would help me the most.
Bobbie Darland I have the same thing and I put 2 pads on the dimples in my lower back and the 2 other pads either above or below the first set. It all comes down to experimenting with what works best. I actually just bought a new tens that is super powerful and it has 8 pads. I put those pads on my shoulder blades and the top of my shoulders for a massage like affect.
i understand when you say it is unbearable, i had and still has slipped discs and gave me painful sciatica, what greatly helped were Physical Therapy exercises and shunning sugar from my diet, no pills helped at all. I hope you overcome yours
i would think around the spinal level where you have stenosis, sciatica is nerve impingement at the spinal level (usually) but since it travels down the leg its felt on the whole leg. The cause of the pain is at the spinal level, so you put the pads at the spinal level, and what should happen is eventually the pain will decreased and localize. for example if you have sciatic pain all the way to the ankle with time itll decreased only up to the knee, then eventually to the thigh, and ideally its just be LB pain. TENS isnt a cure all modality, supplement it with exercises, and if unsure seek physical therapy, some exercises can cause pain to worsen.
I have used tens for chronic pain for over 20 years. I think I am too use to it. I leave it on fit too long and it burns my skin. I can’t take pain meds. Use to help a lot but I must be ammune to it.
Krita Kareem i use it for muscular pain but you can try it on any type of pain as they are so safe to use...either it works or it doesnt but it wont harm you (if u use it correctly)
Oh forgot to add I had surgery about 8 years ago, they were going in to shave down the protruding disc but when they went in there he said the disk just came squishing out so he took the whole disk out I don't have a fusion or anything
Hello sir i hav just started to view u r channel i hav been suffering from accute lower back pain it goes away so time but returns again so i hav been off from my gym plzzz help what to do in this situation should i show a chiropractor???
The instruction manual is not helpful. Can't get this unit to work. The video is not addressing operation of the unit. Can you address operating this unit pls for first time owners. Thanks
Why do people do these videos who want to be actors and comedians rather than getting to the point of the topic. The devise is difficult to see and if they continue to overtalk each other your wasting your time and ours. The Tens unit your using should be identified at the beginning of the video because it doesn't match the one that I got.
No matter what I search on youtube, these guys always have a video

Can you be more specific about why you would not use TENS over or near a metal implant like knee or hip replacement?

I used it on my shoulder and felt quite nauseous but on my low back it works great xx
Please show pad placement for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome if you have one video for that. Thanks.

I got a great unit for $20. There were many in that price range to chose from too!
That's good!
Where did you buy this from
What about the wireless units?
Can this help with nerve issues?
Can it be used for rehabilitation after a stroke?
I also wish to know this
It's helpful on pain, would you recommend tens therapy for pain and "rest for injury healing". Please reply
I paid $30 bucks for 1. I got it for my husband. And he loves it. Thank God for Amazon. My charge nurse recommended for us to get it we both have back problems. I swear by it
Can you please tell me what your credentials as physical therapists thank you.
Credentials...? You always learn from them.
so this is not something like a physical therapist uses that contracts the muscles and all to relieve muscle neck and head tension?
I have read reviews of some TENS/EMS units where ppl say a specific unit/model isn't really a true TENS device even though the product description claims it is.
So as a first time buyer, how do i determine any device is a true Tens unit without seeing or using it?
The maternity ward at UK hospitals routinely give these during pregnancy for back pain. So I'm pretty sure it's safe for that use.
Would it be useful for myofascial pain syndrome? How do I get these giant knots out
which machine is work best for spinal cord injury person.
High tens or low tens which should be used

What happened dude
@@tanmaysingh267 the chiropractor in about 4 months of being very careful while working out helped thank you.
I have tens dr ho both help alot
How to do the EMS function?
Can you reuse the pads once you’ve used them?
I do.
can i spray biofreeze over the area and then use a tens/ems unit over that area?

Certainly, placement of the pads is important. Great video except still confused about placement and the crossing of pads.
What about neuropathy pain & burning in some toes? Would it work and where to put the pads?
I literally just got my TENS unit last night and used it on my hands, it felt pretty good but I have yet to test it on my feet but if I do I'll let you know 😊
Any recommendations for a good brand of the adhesive pads ? I have difficulty finding pads that can be used for more than 3 applications. Thanks.

just wash them under the tap they last like for ever
I've used the same pads with medical tape to hold them in place. It works!
@@OneOfTenVirgins thank you for sharing the idea!
I use mine on my neck and arm pain
One of the channels + and - function doesn't work. Do u have any tip to make it work?
I used it for migraine

@@Sharon-pb7so I'm anxiously awaiting my tens unit. Right neck/shoulder have been killing me, lately! Of course I'm hoping for some relief

What about infrared light treatment for neuropathy? Does it work? Are there any substantive studies?
Thanks
Tr Whitford they have a video about this.
Lota Sprout it is not mentioned specifically in their playlist. Do you have a link?
Can it be used over bone? Is it primarily for muscle pain or can I use it for bone or nerve pain?
Krita Kareem good question
Krita Kareem i use it for muscular pain but you can try it on any type of pain as they are so safe to use...either it works or it doesnt but it wont harm you (if u use it correctly)
You shouldn't use the TENS unit if you have a metal implant. Does that include a stent?
