      Also, I can relate. I read something the other day that said:
      "Auto Repair: Every 15 minute job is 1 stripped bolt away from a 3 day nightmare."
      This is my life.

    Thanks that was a big help. The top was vibrating against the cabinets above the unit, now, blessed silence.

    It would be helpful to know which way to turn the screw (to lower/raise)

    A long 3/8 inch socket made is a better way. I got a new refrigerator and I didn't have to take the front plate off. I was able to access the adjusting screw using a socket wrench.

    Hello. Can i remove the wheels on a new fridge to make it fit shorter so to speak. Make it lower

    Hi there I hope all is well. I hate to sound so dumb - does doing this allow me to roll my refrigerator more easily? Thanks

    • @GraceAppliance
      @GraceAppliance  2 месяца назад

      Hey, not dumb. Yes, lowering the wheels down allows the fridge to roll more easily. I typically recommend they stay in this position if possible in the event you need to access the refrigerator water shut off valve quickly.

      Yes, very helpful. I weigh 120 lbs soaking wet and managed to raise the fridge just enough for what I needed to do using the same tool that you used. Brilliant!

    How do you roll the frig out on its wheels when the wheels are not contacting the floor?

    Andy, I noticed that my fridge has started to make a rather loud humming sound at times, yet quits if I push upwards on the left (freezer side wall). Is it possible for the wheels to become off-level just by pulling it forward and backwards to clean coils and such?

      Hi J Dee,
      Thanks for the kind words, and I’m so glad you’re finding them useful.
      As for the noise, it definitely is possible and probably likely that the fridge is not 100% level after having been moved as it may not sit in the exact same spot after having moved and no floor is 100% level, tiles are different, etc.
      the back wheels are non adjustable, but the front 2 are. Here’s how that’s done...please let me know if you have any questions:

      @@GraceAppliance Andy, I messed around with the front wheels and the beast, I am happy to report, has been silent for over 2 weeks. No more vibrating and humming. I took a level to it when adjusting the wheels. I find myself walking past it, not hearing anything, and right away open the doors to see if it was even working because it is so quiet now. Thanks!!

    Can you lock wheels to keep it in place?

  • @eaglesview1946

    We have a 42” GE Monogram fridge and contractor says there are no wheels. Is this correct?

    • @GraceAppliance
      @GraceAppliance  2 года назад +2

      Probably correct. I have the same in my kitchen. :(
      It has to weigh 400 lbs and nearly broke my nose when trying to move it.
      Look in to furniture sliders which work ok. Not excellent given the weight, but it got the job done for me.

    I need to replace the front wheels on a GE GSL22JFTE BS refrigerator. The wheel were broken in a move. Any help would be appreciated!

      Hey, I haven't replaced them on this specific machine, but you'll see how it comes apart once it's tilted back.
      To tilt it back, you will need to empty it of food, then tilt it back and place 2x4 blocks or something similar to keep it tilted back.
      Here is a schematic of the parts. You'll see a pin #279 which is friction fit, so just pry this out with a screw driver to hey it started.
      With the pin removed, I beleive you should be able to remove the long adjusting bolt and the entire assembly should tilt forward for removal. At least based on the schematic that is what it looks like to me.
      I hope it's helpful!
      Let me know if you run in to any snags.
      Feel free to send pictures to Graceappliance@gmail.com too and maybe that could help more.

    I asked for installation of wheels not raising or lower. Waste of time and a waste of a video. This is very obvious and you do not need a video to do this.
