I'm always going to have a soft spot for this movie. I remember going to see this when I was in 5th grade and was just amazed, this movie was the epidomy of everything I was into back then. Plus every kid was jealous if your parents took you to see Ninja Assassin.

During the time this movie was released there were still a lot of movies that relied on jump cuts for the action scenes, I appreciate the wide open shots that showed masterful choreography and great action. There's been lots of movies that depicted ninjas but none, as far as I know, come close to this.

yeah, I remember doing most of that stuff. replaced my bo staffs. lost my gi and belt somewhere along the way. remember advanced break fall techniques, and once or twice saved me from a world of hurt. remember the joint locks and finger movements. haven't practiced since last summer. no excuses. music and movements were awesome.
This movie deserves an award. The character development covered in a short span is how it should be. No need for a prequel but, a sequel however. We need it!!!

I was shocked to learn that Rain wasn't actually a martial artist. The choreography is so good and he is such a natural that he sold it. Not many people can go toe-to-toe with Sho Kosugi and be somewhat believable

@@zackrider3708 Don’t know about the racism part; but I think you’re aware of that a movie aren’t made by an individual person instead many peoples are associated with it right from the director to the writer and the producer; an actor is just an part of the that. So stop making they are the only one. Meanwhile this movie was bashed by the critics and was a box office disaster, thanks to the audience. Whereas Rain was just an fan service for the K-Pop fans, who end up charging huge amount from the studios more than what the movie would made later. So stop beating the bushes when you don’t know anything. The only reason why we didn’t had a sequel was because of the box office collection couldn’t even meet it’s overall production costs & secondly not every studios are like Marvel who would take risk; for example Winter Soldier & Thor :Ragnarok whose prequel couldn’t live up to their expectations.

I thought the warriors way was pretty cool. The character wasn't exactly unique in some ways but he was interesting to watch throughout out in my opinion and the ending was pretty nice.

man, this was such an amazing movie with such beautiful visuals. I really wish I could see it again for the first time.
I just don't know why they cheaped out on the blood spills. It doesn't look like a cheap movie but the blood spills seem like an afterthought. Like they got notified late about the R-rating and they they quickly added blood on top. They look so game-like that it brings you out of the experience.

The blood is done in that way to mimic anime blood. That's why it looks atypical of generic blood used in movies. It's a homage to anime.
This should be the standard for every ninja movie or any movies involving ninjas

i just love how ninjas are depicted in this movie, a supernatural force, they can vanish in shadows, shurikens felt like some artillery fire, and fight are so over the top, i enjoy a lot this movie, also Sho Kosugi to play the master ninja, cherry on top for sure.

This movie showed us how to do stylized and over the top right. It found the right balance between a bit self aware and serious. Had a lot of fun with this one and still am waiting for the sequel. The protag still needs to defeat the other clans and learn their special abilities.

I showed this movie to my friend a long time ago when we were younger and the next time he saw me he told me he had nightmares from it. It was pretty funny bc this is generally mild for me even then but I can understand why he did since it is really bloody.
