Not exactly diaper related but high five for "my son's step mom needed some diapers so I lent her some of mine". Thank you for living kindly. Thanks for the reviews!! Your channel makes all the choices so much less overwhelming.
I loan out my diapers to close friends 😊 I’ve had a mini loaning program going on here since 2015! I even keep a newborn stash to loan out to friends so that they can try cloth before investing. I have had a few unfortunate situations where people took advantage of my kindness. But it’s a wonderful feeling to have helped out 9 families over the years by just loaning out what I already have 🥰 it has helped out a lot of struggling families and I am grateful to be able to show up in that kind of way
@@JaysNest I have acquired a huge stash of cloth diapers and haven't gotten to have a baby yet. I hadn't even thought to loan mine out. I help friends find great deals and references but I never thought to just let them borrow some of mine. 🤯
Awwww I miss cloth diapers so much ha! Okay, my favorite one size covers are Diaper Rite, Nickis, and the Petite Crown keeper. I like crossover snaps and double leg gussets. Can't wait to try new newborn stuff this time around! ❤😄
Girl, I am SO excited for your new baby 🥰 I am excited to see how your newborn experience goes. I doubt I’ll be having more babies lol so I’ll just live vicariously through you 😂 if you ever decide to do a virtual baby shower I’d love to get a diaper gift for baby 💚💚
My favorite is Nicki's diapers cover, it's got many great features. I love the double gussets, the inner flaps and the cute designs! It's Also a great price , very affordable. And plus they offer free shipping! And it fits my 3 year old son very well! Love the fit.
For newborn my favorite cover is cloth eez size 0 for under the cord. After that’s outgrown we went to thirsties duo wrap size 1. Next up is thirsties size two and three. We also love and use buttons covers for nighttime. Thirsties size 3 are perfect for tall toddlers.
Love this!! So many great brands! The new Pannolino Bambino Gentle fit covers are my current favorite. I'd like to see a double row of snaps on them but the legs are so gentle on my little guy. They're our go to night time cover!
I'm loving my imagine covers. I actually use them as an all in two system with inserts I got second hand with a fleece topper. This is working for my 4 month old now, so hopefully it'll work well as he gets older 🤞
Loved your video, it’s refreshing to find an unbiased honest opinion these days! I recently started up with covers as a bedtime solution and love buttons super covers and thirsties size 2. I’m in Canada so I selection is not as great 🥺
I love buttons OS and pannolinobambino forever fit (very similar to buttons). I personally love covers with only 1 waist snap which is why I reach for those first. Double PUL is a must for me also so I love Bebeboo covers for that reason too
Actually after trying the Buttons super cover I've now decided this is my new favorite!! I wish I could afford a whole stash of just buttons super covers !! LOVE!!
My favorites changed all the time, because my son's bodyshape changed all the time ;) But some of my favorites: -Best Bottom & Best Bottom Bigger for their narrow fit in the crotch, pretty gentle elastics, double leg gussets, gorgeous prints. It's a pity that the OS fits early, but won't fit a bigger toddler and the Bigger fits a toddler but not a newborn... so they actually don't have a one size option. -Thirsties duo wraps, size 1 and 2 for their pliablility, gentle elastics, double leg gussets, just fit well. Prints are hit or miss for me and the inner leg elastics wear out quickly. -Rumparooz for their soft TPU material, elastics at the front that kind of holds in a prefold/flat. Elastics around the legs are tight, so not for chunky legs I guess and prints are hit or miss for me. -Blueberry Capri for their flaps at the front and back, pliable PUL, gentle elastics, double leg gussets, cute prints, feels well made. Quite roomy fit for a slim baby, which isn't bad but it made me only like the cover and not love it.
All my diaper covers are happy flute and I love them! They have worked so well for us. I have one elf cover and I dont use it. I feel like the leg elastics relaxed super fast and I cannot get a good fit on my baby. The legs are too big unless I put the waist snaps too tight. Annoying, but overall I'm glad I only bought one.
We tried covers in the newborn phase, but they weren’t very husband friendly and I was pretty stuck in bed. We’ve switched to all-in-ones, but I would love to try covers again after watching this!
You know, I wasn’t in love with covers for the newborn stage. I used them but I really loved aios for the newborn stage. For the one size stage I love covers and pockets, and don’t reach for aios as much lol. It’s funny how it’s flip flopped! I just prefer covers as my children reach into the toddlers years. I prefer covers more through the toddler phase than the newborn phase lol. But newborns also poop so much more 😂 so maybe that’s why
My all time favorite cover is Petite crown. It has double gusset. It doesn’t have flaps which is something I was stuck between loving at first and then hating and now I don’t mind them but prefer not to have them (poop reasons) I also like thirsties duos for when I use fitteds. I’m personally not a fan of how thin it is and that it’s only one row of snaps but it is super roomy for fitteds.
@Kimberly Bontrager sadly I have not. I got into cloth this year due to the pandemic and didn’t use cloth when my babes were newborns. I will be using cloth for future babes in the newborn stage but sadly haven’t yet. If you join the petite crown Facebook group or add a post on your ig asking about pc newborns a lot of cloth mommas can help you out🥰 I’ve heard great things about the newborns though.
My youngest (not for long!) Is about to turn 18m, but she is TINY. 18lbs and 79cm tall so incredibly skinny. We have only been able to use the Thirsties size 1 covers on her after she outgrew her preemie covers at 4m old. She's FINALLY reaching the last snap size, but she's also self-potty-training so I doubt she'll ever fit into anything one-size besides her Bumgenius Flip cover, which worked since she was about 1yr on the tightest settings. Most stuff gives big leg-gaps which is awful if she poosplodes or if she is napping. We don't really care when she's awake though because she's been walking since 9m and so is usually upright anyway, so it doesn't matter as much. Happyflute do the BEST preemie and newborn covers, but they are so incredibly wide in the one-size! 😂 We gave ours away free online because they were so bad on both our kids!
A very comprehensive review. Thank you. Can you kindly list the names of the various companies, you talked very fast for me ( English is not my first language) so I didn't get all the names.
Hi. I have something to say about Thirsties covers. Back in 2009 when I had my first baby I pick up a few size small covers at a cloth diaper store. Those inner leg elastics and the TUP (if it even was TUP back then) was higher quality and thicker. I also later was gifted some used sized covers from someone and those were also virtually indestructible. Anyway, after my baby grew out of the size small, I ordered some size one duo wraps. The TUP was thinner and the inner leg elastic was lower quality. I was super disappointed. I have no idea why they did this. Maybe their covers were to durable? 🤷🏾♀️
Hi, please someone answer me : I have a Big question to you (i am french so excuse my bad english) : in this video you said that buttons super diaper cover do crack very quickly and you ll review it one year later but I didnt found this later review : are buttons super diaper covers really this undurable ?? Do they really crack quickly ? (I LOVE their fit on my 3 month old and their designs but I plan to use it at full Time for a long Time because they are expensive in France so I need them to be durable !!)
Yes It is a decent affordable cover. Happy flute takes my top spot I have had a few elf covers have weak snaps and inconsistencies in the stretchy tabs. But overall decent workable cover for the price
Hi! I watch tons of your videos and I’m still stressed and lost on what to get! I didn’t want a huge weird fit at the newborn stage so I’ve bought a mix of different used newborn things. But I really want simplicity past the newborn stage, maybe one or two brands of covers and just flats. If you could only pick one cover which would you pick? I’d prefer one-size but do the sized ones work better?
Sometimes we are hard on ourselves. The unknown can seem overwhelming but I believe you can be successful with the right mindset. What newborn diapers do you currently have? How many? Thirsties size 1 covers are a great “in between diaper” because it fits at 7lbs but also goes up to 18lbs. It’s nice because you don’t have to invest too much money in a newborn stash with those. Same goes for the nickis newborn cover. It fit around 8.5-9lbs for us and went up to 22+lbs Outside of ^that I would skip sized covers (small, med, large) and go with one size covers. For a one size stash there are a lot of great brands. I like the diaper rite one size cover. Bebeboo has good covers too. I personally like the variety of brands and diaper styles. Depending on my mood I like to use different types of diapers lol. At the end of the day, my #1 SUGGESTION is to not get caught into finding the perfect diaper. The main things you need: 1) a diaper that fits correctly 2) absorbency that absorbs enough I suggest keeping extra cotton, bamboo, or hemp inserts around. Skip the microfiber. Skip the charcoal bamboo. Extra inserts help out a lot when your babe needs more absorbency. You got this!
@@JaysNest thanks!!! I don’t even know off the top of my head what newborn stuff I have. It’s really a mishmash of all different things lol. I have lots of prefolds size small and a mix of all-in-ones and pockets. But pockets really don’t interest me much so I might just use them as covers. I shouldn’t need any in-between sizes between newborn and all-in-one sizes, right? You are always so helpful!!

I have a question about your Mama Koala diaper you used as a cover. We use those as covers for now but want to sew in AWJ. Do you think that would be possible and have you done anything like that before? Thank you so much! 💕

That’s a great way to repurpose them if you are handy with sewing 😊
