Did the same thing on a leaky timing chain cover on my grandpa's ford focus , so far has worked for about a year

Also planning on doing it on a leaky front timing cover. But currently testing some oil stop leak addtives and Valvoline MaxLife engine oil if they can swell the old rubber seal enough.
