This song in particular is a clear reminder that some of these composers went on to work on the Batman: Arkham games, they're super talented! I love how dramatic the music in this game is compared to the just heavy metal the other games had. A wonderful reset for the series.
As a long time twisted metal fan. This theme song has elements of drop dead track from the first twisted metal game! If that doesn't hit hard, this music is a great tribute!
All I can think of is all the mayhem happening in the suburbs with everything on fire as missiles fly-by with the whistling sound and napalms being thrown.
As I said, the had quite a few good themes in it. The Suburbs battle theme holds a special place in my heart because it's pretty much a remix of the theme 'Drop Dead' (Los Angeles Rooftops).
Best parts of Twisted Metal games are the interactive bits. Stuff like knocking down the Eiffel Tower in Paris or, as you mention, setting loose the ferris wheel in the Suburbs.
Personally I'd like to see a remake of tm1 and 2 just cuz i never got to play those two the original versions are ok I'd play them but it would be nice to see them get updated graphics and a few changes to gameplay imagine a ff7 level remake of twisted metal that'd be dope
Joey Gallo well TM1 rooftop was also the final boss battle so I can understand why that song sounds the way it sounds. this version isn't a final boss battle and doesn't seem like it has a "time is of the essence" feel. not as much as TM1 at least
The reason why that theme generates any 'chills' is because it's a complete tone shift for that game. You went from a mix of rock and country sounding music to the closest you could get to full blown orchestra during that time for VGM. This doesn't have the same impact as the rest of the music in the game is of a similar genre.
I wish I PS2 emulation was better... I missed out on this game. And while I owned it on PS3 PSN, my PS3 died and I really don't want to get another one just for this.

Shoutout to the hardcore twisted metal fans who know this is a new arrangement of the rooftops ost from the first twisted metal
The hardest level in the game. This song was one of the reasons why I didn't give up on this game.
Prison Passage and Warhawk's Rooftops were the hardest IMO
+KimJongKardashi
I don't remember those levels but man, was this level hard to get pass.
warhawk was the single rooftop where you fought the helicopter, and prison passage was the one that started off on a boat
KimJongKardashi
You mean the final level(Warhawk)? That was easy. I don't think I chose the prison level.
@@Techhunter_Talon fuck the prison.2 enemies thrown at you with no escape for 2 full minutes, plus being stuck on the boat itself.

*how is this not at least 2 million views is beyond me*
Black had quite a few good tracks but this here is one of my favorites right next to Warhawk's Rooftop and Minion's Stadium.
Downtown final enemy was pretty good
Junkyard is pre good
Prison Passage and the rooftops are good too

Leave a like if you tore down the Ferris wheel to send it through the neighbourhood every time you played suburbs

So incredible! Brings back glorious memories
Such an amazing score. Loved this atmosphere and jumping on the roofs and eating Hot Lime Cheetos with this game. Ah! So many memories.
this twisted metal and twisted small brawl had a good soundtrack
darksidefan 321 Small Brawl had a bunch of remixed songs from TM1 and 2
+darksidefan 321 Pretty much all the Twisted Metals did. :)
I love this level bc it’s so vast, there’s no where to hide.
Litterally just listen to this and other TM songs while playing other games because the music is so intense to listen to while playing games
I love this game.
Repent! 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
I always felt like this theme really fits nemesis
This level was so hard, the frekken hills and flipping the car over after jumping off the hills
oddly enough this is used for skyscrapers on twisted metal black online whereas the skyscrapers theme is used for suburbs
Rooftops gave me legit ptsd
Makes sense considering the original version of this track was in the final, rooftop stage of TM1.
@@Neo-Midgar Which that theme is literally called 'Drop Dead'.
This is also the last song in tm1 when you face minion
incomplete without explosions
Creepy video I dont own PlayStation 2 (PS2) anymore I finished all characters unlocked everything tried all specials.
Even the secret specials? Axel and Shadow have a secondary special.
Twisted metal black needs a remastered edition for PS4

this doesnt give me chills like the twisted metal 1 version did (rooftops).
not even the chorous around 1:30?
+KimJongKardashi its sounds nice don't get me wrong but no chills

to each their own my nigga
Very *Resident Evil* in some places, IMO.
a remake would be great
Same and it's a good map as well

If you have a PS4, this game is available on the PSN Store
I would do it through Vimms Lair, im very pleased with how that emulation is doing
This is the song that will play during WORLD WAR 3.
it's a remix of drop dead for Twisted metal 1
Fire at will
3 month in the nut house

Awesome theme, always play it in GT5 and Dust 514.
WTF? U play this while you play GTA 5?? dude im about to go MINION on you.
Wtf dude you nasty troll. GT5 stands for Gran Turismo 5.
Sorry i was thinking grand theft auto 5 lol but still.. who listens to this while playing gran turismo?
*****
way better than the garbage in the game.
Why does that seem eerily thematically fitting?
RoofTop Battle
