- Man what a great game this was. I spent so many hours with my friends in this game blasting eachother to hell, running down innocent pedestrians and destroying some of the world's most famous monuments.
But a big part of what made this game great for me was the soundtrack, which I still rank as one of the best video game soundtracks of all time. So I decided to upload the whole thing for those of you who feel the same way.

Discovering that the game disc doubled as a music disc was magical
One of the best split screen multiplayer games ever made.
I love the mix of heavy metal, guns, cars and blood. I miss badass games like this.
amen brother
This game is so badass it hurt man, i buy this game in the ps3 haha, i can't live without this game, graphics doesn't matter, the gameplay is what it make it awesome!
bruhhh right?
@@carlosdcf8268 I am going to buy it for Christmas this year 2023 and play it. :) That and TM1!! Oh and maybe Vigilante 8!!
those times when i was listening to metal without knowing it was metal haha, i love this game :)
Me 2 when i was younger,TM2 for life!!!I see you play Ibanez RGs,i do too.I subbed to you. Please give my channel a quick visit :)
For real! such a big influence on me
Yes!!!
When I was an adolescent and discovered thrash and speed metal, it was surprising to then replay TM2 and realize how *heavy* it is. It has a lot of balls.
Those times playing video games without knowing such women enjoyed them too...
One of the best games I ever played. Oh, the good old times, when all I needed to care about was getting good grades, driking soda and playing games. God, I played TM2 so much...
Agree❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@perfectcell4492 Thus man decided to pool his resources adn take back the land, and make the ultra Man Cave Temple, where men go to play games, tehy build the cities nda power the systems, why not build, the CONATHON. the TEmple to 90's games... most games were badass for many reasons, most had very free artists, and some made good money that were not captured like prince, but its not about money but its about money.. today art is less than steller in most things... its like forgetting to live. Instead its your worthless, your this and that, your x and y, and msut submit to us that cattle you udner our lable so we can get a mob to slap you and beat you... it slike we gotta summon our inner Calypso, and go psychopathic on them. lol
Love the Clown's laugh in the beginning, so sick.
I remember the clown and heavy metal all my life from when I was a kid
Man, so nostalgic. Golden years for me...
This game was badass. The soundtrack, the gameplay, and everything else just awesome. My favorite off the soundtrack is Los Angeles.
Still waiting for Twisted Metal to make its way to PS4. Hell, I would be fine with an HD remaster of 1 and 2
The Superior Spider-Mew it’s been 2 years to late
@@cumberbatchambassador4270 Remake of II or Black on PS5 would be sweeeeeet.
Steven Jan Cadena That would be awesome
Actually blacks on ps4 4 $9.00
Twisted metal 2 was the best out of the series.
the first song was stuck in my head for 20% of my childhood
Wingnut Mcspazatron It will forever be stuck in my head, along with the glorious sound of my Omni Taser.
+Wingnut Mcspazatron I think this is why I grew up to like metal music.
+MrBarelylethal dude you get me lol
Hahaha dude me too!!
Whenever I bust out of traffic to hit open road... in my mind...
My favorite still has to be the Paris level theme. The whole song sounds like the crescendo you hear on French ambulances.
Absolutely epic! Frère Jacques mixed with Jacques Offenbach's "Galop Infernal" mixed with heavy metal guitars, sirens and screams. They really outdid themselves with that one! Kudos to the composers!
The sound design team put a lot of care into their design.
i love twisted metal 2 one of the best games ever made
So much nostalgia for this soundtrack! So much of Twisted Metal 2 still sticks with me to this day;
the badass music
the just-as-badass characters (that wacky clown bastard Sweet Tooth in particular)
the secret levels to play with my friends
the wacky background secrets for the levels (like blowing up the Hollywood sign, or seeing the Statue of Liberty in a bikini)
the iconic sounds of each character (Warthog and Axel stick out in my mind the most, despite the fact I almost never played Warthog, and I only played as Axel for one campaign)
the way Calypso twisted nearly every competitor's words and screwed them over in the end
the wicked howl of my Soul Shadow (primarily drove shadow)
and that droning whistle that told you a Ghost Missile was homing in on you...
Good times...
+ShifterInTheShadows Don't forget the sound of an impending glacier fall in Antarctica!
Joe Barbieri
Oh god, those tense moments when you hear the rumbling and watch the blue flashing on the very glacier you're driving on! ;_;
UNlocking Minion and destroying everything without god mode!
Don't forget running over all the pedestrians 😂
Those 6 dislikes ran into minion without cheats ^.^
My way to defeat him (without cheats) was just to hide in one of those 2 buildings that were side by side, because he never entered them and you could just shoot him through the doorway.
I beat the game with specter minion special was up down up up r2
R.I.P. SingleTrac studios
nothing will ever compare to what they achieved back then in the 90s :c
I used to put the disc in my stereo just to listen to these tracks
On Amazonia, did anyone, when they reached Minion, head for that temple with the 2 destructible entrances, even when playing with a friend, throw everything at it to open it up, then hide inside like a little wuss, firing fire and homing rockets, and ricochets out at him til he was dead? xD That's what me and my friend did, so we could save lives for Antarctica and Field of Screams :P
strifey07 haha that was probably the best way to take him out easy.
yeah
Yes! I did the same thing, hide inside the pyramid and shoot freeze from time to time, and shoot special, napalm and all i got until Minion was dead. I couldnt face him outside, i tried it a few times but i couldnt beat him toe to toe.
I remember having found this secret platform, if you headed up north (from what i remember) and go into the lava, a fair distance from the coast, and just jumped up you'd land on an invisible platform which made you safe from the lava and just waited for everyone to kill each other while eating lunch. Then hid into the temple for Minion :D
dang for real ; that game is a legend i hate it for those who didn't play
that laugh though! so many memories!!
there was an iceburg in antartica that wouldnt ever fall and it was a portall close to the edge when u got to it u could back against the wall on it and ppl would come through the portal then u hit em with richochet they fly right off the edge it was a garanteed easy win in it
Just gotta get there, and get there first.
Jesus Christ, nostalgia bomb hitting me hard. Roof tops and Paris.
When I was a kid and played this game,I didnt paid much attention to the music, and was more concentrated on a gameplay.Only now I realize how wonderful and cool it was.
This game is great indeed, much time spent playing it. One of the best games on ps1. Those times.. those games..
This album was LIT back then and still is LIT today!!!!
los angeles is best soundtrack
This sound track is so fucking awesome.
Twisted Metal 2 was the best of the series
Quake zone rumble was the best song for a video game ever made! Paris' farajaka song was pretty sick too
Frère Jacque
This game definitely needs a come back. I know they f'd up on the most recent attempt of a release, but I know it can be done!
Nah the most recent game absolutely wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t as good as the rest. Hard to top perfection.
Divisive game but it’s just fine on its own.
with the rerelease on the Playstation, we are now above to relive the whole experience and maybe even share our love with the newer generation.
I fondly remember back in 1999, throwing the TM2 cd in my boombox cd player and jamming out to this soundtrack when i was home alone. Now nearly 31, my wife has to deal with it. lol.
OMG yes hahaha Monumental Disaster (Paris)
omg dude u rocks!!! thnx 4 upload this epics soundtracks ...really dude this game was epic.
What a classy soundtrack. Too bad no other twisted metal or wannabe of this genre came a where close in terms of anything...
Buzid it was an incredibly mature well put together soundtrack. It's evolution from hair metal anthems, to classical orchestra was fucking brilliant, as the later levels get more intense, notably Antarctica being the climax of the soundtrack. It's fucking brilliant sound design. My biggest gripe is finding fucking credits to the soundtrack, I literally find no traces of a soundtrack credit anywhere
Rogue trip had an awesome soundtrack too. Same devs as first 2 Twisted Metals so it tracks
Mi vicio de la infancia :-)
the fucking memory's..being an adult sucks :-(
it sure does.
The way you fucking just said that, which means your a child. Lie somewhere else.
Austin Yozze dude you fucking said it! I love nostalgia
Axel Power!
Monumetal Disaster is soo SICK! Best soundtrack ever!)))
Moscow has the best song lmao >:]
Too Paris (Monumental Disaster) and New York >:3
New York City's theme is just so fucking epic.....it's like some symphonic doom metal
Also does anyone remember Timesplitters 1? Since I think the song for Hong Kong was used for that game I think unless Crystal Dynamics got the composers for this games soundtrack...which could be a possibility
Just hearing the beginning of New York City is so fucking dark like some DOOM metal meshing in some symphonic metal too.. fuckin love that song as well as Antarctica and Los Angeles... those are the 3 that still stay with me to this day
Maybe Holland if I didn’t remember it more from Jet Moto 2? Or was it Jet Moto 1? I can’t remember
Very fun, exciting and adrenaline fueled soundtrack, I love it! Thank you very much for the upload!
anyone agree this game is the first battle royale genre?
Yukari Hideki very true. I know I’d personally be way more interested in PUBG if I was playing as the grim reaper in a motorcycle firing flaming souls out of my side-car.
I'd like to see a modern BR game with vehicular combat where your vehicle parachutes down and you have to find weapons that attach to your vehicle.
One of the best game soundtracks from the 90's period.
Twisted Metal 2 is still and always be my ultimate favorite game ever.
@1:00 tears of joy!!!!
I put so many hours into this game in my teen years. It was the first time a game felt multiplayer.
We're going to be jamming with this guitarist on one of our upcoming album/videos. Can't wait!
How'd it go lol?
Mis favoritos, Intro, Los Ángeles, Moscow, New York City y Final boss Darktooth
Twisted Metal Fans: Knock Knock! Sony: Who there’s? Twisted Metal Fans: Uh it’s been 8 years since the last Twisted Metal been made! Where’s a new 1? Sony: Twisted Metal who? Twisted Metal Fans: U forgot what Twisted Metal was? Sony: Oh yeah that’s right, Throws out copies of Fortnite 2 everyone. Twisted Metal Fans: This isn’t Twisted Metal? Sony: Yes it is. It created the “battle royale genre”. Twisted Metal Fans: Storms the Sony headquarters and finds Sweet Tooth in a small cage saying Sorry boys n girls, I’m 2 scary for these kids of today.
It was such an honor to record and release a jam with this guitarist... what a god..
this ost is part of my childhood i was full of fury and this was my landescape
Man I forgot how much fun this game was and then I remembered what all the levels looked like. lol
Hidden powers were great, so much fun with mines in VS mode;
Napalm, back napalm, shield, jump, freeze...
Played it a lot with my sister in HS, hell... we even got mad and angry with eachother...
5:27 still gives me goosebumps.
Still one of the best game soundtracks ever.
Some of these songs randomly get stuck in my head since playing it in my childhood, despite never even thinking about TM for ages.
Twisted Metal music is the best! TM 3 and 4 are my favorites ;)
That flutter at 3:09 is killer
Not sure how to even do one that lasts that long.
This was my first game i bought on ps1. I remember like it was yesterday. Total classic. Top 10
1996 was a good Christmas.
Got Mario 64 along with my new N64 and this game for the PS1...That was a fun vaca.
So this explains why I loved metal as a kid
Badass shit!
Use to rock the TM cds on my cd player :D!
Shit I still do!!!
this and battle tanx on the (N64) is the reason why I listen to metal.
That same engine rev and tire squeal was in the Need For Speed hot pursuit 3 soundtrack loved playing both of these on my playstation growing up.
this game is so good. such memories
Fire Walk would drive me absolutely fucking insane every god damn time. Falling the lava by accident and dying trying to escape Minion's OP burst of missiles and shit.
YEEESSSS!!! Awesome game and equally awesome soundtrack!! Thanks for uploading :D
MR SLAM WAS THE DADDY.
I am buying this game for myself for X-Mas this year :) I can't wait for the flood of memories while playing.
L2 + Up, Down, Up, Up = Death to thine enemies.
My bid is this:
Sony REALY should do a Remake of Twisted Metal 2 World Tour with Jaffe back in control. Do an alternate version of World Tour though. Have all the classic TW2 characters back but also bring in cars from Black. Do all the levels again but revamp the gimmicks to include a few more twists. Include two brand new levels to the roster for tournament mode. Revamp the ending cutscenes for the drivers, possibly change some around. (One of the issues they had with TW 2012 couldn't justify multiple endings because people wouldn't play through the game multiple times). I think the solution is to have to unlock tiers where some characters are unlocked after getting other character endings. The game isn't long. It can be beaten in like 30 minutes if the player is good, hence why I think more levels would be good.
Online play would do wonders for this game if executed properly.
Also, they should probably include a way to unlock the maps from Twisted Metal 1.
Every new Tesla truck comes with a copy of this game that you can play while driving
I wonder how new this comment is
It was even gta like. It had a town with people you could run over lol
+BloodRedCars I gave that as a reference to understand it.
L1+L2+R1+R2: up, down, left, right, right, left, down, up.
ice ball?
God mode
This make me remember My old times... Great Game with great music
love the "Holland" theme. rocking twang
Never like the stage, it is an open slaughterfield with minor protection.
@@kirra9152 I love the stage. It’s pure chaos.
I remember when my husband found this like 7 years ago, and he was like "check this out" and it played the ost!
God I played this for hours when I was in elementary. Just played it for a few hours seconds ago and the game is still addicting! >:D Music never gets old too!
2023 and still playing this game on PS1. They don't make them like they used to!
*21:00** lol that open field level music. It's's crazy I haven't played this game literally in 20 years and I remember what levels all these tracks belonged to.*
TM2 is where I started from in the twisted metal series.....good ol memories ❤
Games these days: “video games should be like books, all story and leave you bored!”
Games in the 90’s: can it just be fun?
Twisted Metal 2. As batalhas, as caçadas, as fugas. As correrias para achar uma sobrevida, os sons da aproximação do oponente, e também de suas armas disparadas. Trilha sonora perfeita, somente de obras-primas. Jogaço emocionante. Super divertido. Inesquecível.
Now it’s on PlayStation Plus Classics!
Let's hope they add whole series 🙏.
The best part 5:26.
I still remember being like "I wonder what happens when you put a PlayStation disc in a CD player" 🤣 Next thing I know, I'm sitting with my guitar for hours on end learning how to play this entire soundtrack. I was 13-14 when this game came out and a HUGE Megadeth fan (still am) and I remember feeling like the Moscow level could've easily ended up as a b-side leftover from the Youthanasia album sessions.
Sounds a lot like Marty. Same similar era.
I played the game non stop from tennessee to arizona when I was 13. Definitely good times on this game.
Guys all pray that someone recreates 12 and just all series and with the same amazing music and maps recreated and 2 movies in the future.
The Twisted Metal series, and the Vigilante 8 series are both good!
But man, Twisted Metal 2 for me. It was a memorable game. Always loved it. A fucking masterpiece!
What a nostalgia I still have the CD from ps1. Can’t wait to see the movie.
Some heavy Roland SR-JV80 sounds here! One of my favourite game OSTs.
Me and my dad used to play all the time when I was little... Axel and Warthog teamup in co-op... I remember switching between Warthog and Minion (If I entered the cheat, but my dad didn't like it cuz it wasn't challenging enough... Thumper was cool to, lighting bitches up in a pippin pink caddy lol)
TheLaughingCritic Yeah it was a Really fun game :D I also played with my dad to.
TheLaughingCritic I played it with my dad, as well! :)
Andrew Lyon Good times lol... This is by far the best Twisted Metal game and one of the best playstation games... It's got me thinking how I wanna play this again lol
TheLaughingCritic Good times indeed! :)
TheLaughingCritic team up with my brother as Axel and Shadow still remember the noise they make lol good times bros
damn this takes me back
Between that and Rock N Roll Racing it's a wonder I only ever got into a single minor car accident in real life.
TM2 and Red Alert 2 had the best soundtracks of any games in the 90's!
This is fantastic!
Forgot the menu song. I'm aware it's basically the intro with less going on and a palm mute but it's iconic to the game
Wow Beautiful Music
The music was so metal and iconic 🔥
i think suicide slide was actually the first song that got me into metal. It was so different than the rest..and i dunno what the hell that voice is screeching in between the music but i understood every word it said and it was right. I must metal.
7:04
Wooow
