I recently watched an interview with a former SO army sniper who had a job to be part of some training of several groups of secret service folks. He basically said the majority of them have horrible technique when it comes to firearms It’s anecdotal, but IIRC he estimated only a very small percentage of them have any real practical experience prior to the job

I am a retired female law enforcement Sergeant and I am embarrassed by these 3 female agents by the SUV. One couldn’t holster her weapon , the second agent was just concerned about getting her sunglasses back on and the third agent looked like she had no clue what she should do next. Insane. I was USAF Security Forces from 99-09. At one point Obama was supposed to fly into our base and then travel by car to somewhere else in the area. Secret Service showed up a week in advance to set up security. They locked down everything. Every rooftop. Every high window. They blocked every line of sight with barriers or vehicles. They checked EVERYTHING. Now, this was on an Air National Guard base and it wasn't a drill weekend, so there were very few people on base and maybe 3 of them were civilians. This wasn't a public place where you don't know who could be around. He wasn't even doing a speech or shaking hands or anything! He was just going to get off AF-1, get in the car, and leave. Plus, he didn't even show up! They always set up multiple routes and he flew in somewhere else. If they go to that much trouble on a base that is already pretty secure, how do they let something like this happen? In my head, either the Secret Service has really gone to shit in 15 years, or something intentional was going on.
I too have been involved in preparing a business for a presidential arrival. At a location I would consider much easier to control than the rally location. There were no areas left unsecured, nothing not considered during the week-long sweep by the secret service. This failure is mind boggling.

Hence why it is so sketchy. They knew about him well before he even showed up. They scanned the parameter but seemingly neglected that one area, which was absolutely within 500 yards. They had their eyes on him for multiple minutes prior to him finally shooting. The Secret Service sniper had his scope on him locked for minutes and said no one gave him the okay to shoot (Taking the shot on his own once the shooter started). Finally, the photo op, the weird dude and woman that were unphased by it all behind Trump, and the fact that the ear injury looks more like a blade job than a bullet wound all scream that something is up. This is one of the weirdest events in modern history, and I sure hope it gets exposed before it gets swept under the rug.

One couldn’t holster her weapon , the second agent was just concerned about getting her sunglasses back on and the third agent looked like she had no clue what she should do next. Insane. I was USAF Security Forces from 99-09. At one point Obama was supposed to fly into our base and then travel by car to somewhere else in the area. Secret Service showed up a week in advance to set up security. They locked down everything. Every rooftop. Every high window. They blocked every line of sight with barriers or vehicles. They checked EVERYTHING. Now, this was on an Air National Guard base and it wasn't a drill weekend, so there were very few people on base and maybe 3 of them were civilians. This wasn't a public place where you don't know who could be around. He wasn't even doing a speech or shaking hands or anything! He was just going to get off AF-1, get in the car, and leave. Plus, he didn't even show up! They always set up multiple routes and he flew in somewhere else. If they go to that much trouble on a base that is already pretty secure, how do they let something like this happen? In my head, either the Secret Service has really gone to shit in 15 years, or something intentional was going on.
I too have been involved in preparing a business for a presidential arrival. At a location I would consider much easier to control than the rally location. There were no areas left unsecured, nothing not considered during the week-long sweep by the secret service. This failure is mind boggling.
