- Fredericksburg is a very popular town for tourists to visit in the Hill Country located 70 miles from San Antonio. It has so many shops, restaurants, boutiques, etc and offers many things to do with a German flavor. During Christmas, the town comes even more to life!
Fredericksburg really is the premier old German town. A great day trip from Austin, or San Antonio, is to get up early to climb Enchanted Rock, then get lunch in Fredericksburg and spend the afternoon walking around.

It’s like you’re in a Hallmark movie. Next thing you’ll know, you’ll bump into a cowboy who also runs a winery.
