I miss the old Hockenheim that went into the forest. The current layout has too many corners being the hairpine at the end of the back straight the only realistic section where overtaking is possible.
Seems like you're talking right from the bottom of my heart. I was 10 years old when I first climbed the grandstands' stairs outside and I will never forget when this the view opened to me as I reached the top. This huge motorsport stadium surrounded by deep woods. That look up the straight in the forest to the last chicane, when the cars came back.... Also those days 'til 2000 when the Dragsters disappeared into the forest. Somehow I still have this image in my mind when I go up there nowadays and it's every time deepest disappointment when I see this "tundra" they made out of it. It's a shame.
