You say that but relics are by far the more popular guitars. I work in a guitar store and we have quite a few Fender Custom Shop guitars with no relicing, but they don't sell nearly as well
I’m not one of these sour types who object to heavy relic but, why would a beautiful daphne blue be sprayed OVER a sunburst. It makes no sense. Things should make sense. Ah well I’d have it anyway if I could afford it.
Theres history behind that. The standard fender models were bursts. They overproduced bursts for preparedness and when a custom color was ordered, it wasnt uncommon for them to spray over a pre painted body. You'll find it, though rarely, on some custom color pre CBS fenders
@@franktalarico689 it also wasnt uncommon for players to paint over original finishes. Keeping in mind these guitars weren't the new car price tags they are today. Neil Youngs black Les Paul was a gold top, same with Gilmours black strat
For me that reverse Tele bridge is EVERYTHING, especially when paired with that neck pickup starting at around 3:09. Loving that sound.
That is a great sounding guitar - brought to you by the man who never met a guitar he didn't ❤️
I'm not a middle posish' man myself, but that 3:10 sound made me a believer.
That is one nice sounding guitar right there
Roasted and relic'd. Both of the high price snake oil favourites on the one instrument.
Clearly you've never owned anything roasted.
Don Vanco I’ve had roasted peanuts and my brain has been roasted on drugs, that more than qualifies.
omni434 lol - seriously tho - roasted necks are awesome

I like the sound and looks. But would have liked more technical explanation about the whole reverse thing...
There is a short explanation in the description of the video
Watching Greg Koch is so inspirational. I’m giving up playing altogether 😂
He’s unbelievable! Makes it look easy, but it’s not.
Does anyone know what overdrive pedal Greg uses in this clip? It sounds amazing and it's the sound I want to get out of my guitars.
Shredding!
The bridge pickup is reversed as well 🙃
That sounds so good.
does it have coil split?
Paaaauuul!
SQUANK!!!!

@@joshcook1965 dude I always wondered why the really high end relics were over bursts very cool
