  • Have been doing ceramic coating for a while. Helped pay my way through the academy and medic school. Today I did my personal truck, the daily. I did a single stage paint correction with a Rupes fine yellow pad and used Sonax polishing compound #4. Start off with a wash, and clay bar. clay as you wash its definitely beneficial to combined the process. I use a stripping shampoo/ soap to make sure the paint is free of any dirt, olis, sediment, etc. Then I rinse the truck and use a iron remover, once that sits for a few minutes simply wash it off and dry the vehicle. From here you polish with the yellow pad and sonax#4 . After thats completed you should panel wipe with gtechniq panel wipe. Made to remove any extra oils that may be left behind. Now you can ceramic coat. Use the Crystal serum light for a base coat and do 1 or 2 coats of the gtechniq exo. it's seems like a lot and can be intimidating but once you get started it's petty easy. Just take one step at a time, have a cool place with appropriate lighting. Any questions I'm here to help.

I did CSL + exov4 over 2 years ago on my f150. Made it through Ohio winters. I'm just about to do CSU +v5 on it now as it got body work done from insurance that jacked it all up. This stuff is NO joke. I go through touchless carwashes and hand wash weekly, still beads water like crazy in most spots.

They make a really good product for sure. But damn, getting through some harsh winters is pretty impressive for sure.

What did you do to prep it?

    • @chris_03svt

I clayed it but also used a iron decon spray and applied a stripping soap. The stripping soap you add to the foam cannon with your other foam.
