Got a Mercedes C200d from 2016. It has 155.000km and I must say the engine is perfect for what I do which is mostly long trips. The fuel consumption is outstanding and the engine is smooth for a diesel. One thing that bothers/worries me is that I have to add 0.5l of oil every 4000km. It is withing the manual specs but I have a 2009 2.0 TDI with 330.000km and zero oil added between inspections.
Ive got megane GT,2014, 1.6 dCi and I just love it. Fuel economy very good, performance solid. Over 100 000 km, never failed me. Wish the interior components were as good as the engine. Plastic parts starting to sqwek, but hey, its no bmw or MB..
could you please tell me where the thermostat housing or thermostat itself is located on this car as i could not find on my Renault megane 3 1.6 dci r9m engine. Any kind of help is much appreciated.
This is the most economic engine in the World This engine can achieve 860 miles per tank on Nissan Quashcai 7 seats or Nissan rogue in the U.S sadly ( this engine has been Banned in the FREE WORLD U.S )
@Stekkkkkk True :D But you never know there might be an EMP Resistant car soon maybe this year or maybe a few more :D we Never know what the future holds :D Thanks for Replying
You remove the start stop sensor. It will increase notably the general lifespan of components like battery, electric cables, start motor and so on. Stupid feature
Don't worry, the vehicle only stops and starts in optimum condition. Over the 40 000km, it will never do it again. My experience with this motor anyway.

@DriftUltimatum Yes it does. It sounds like a stupid idea to me, an overuse of the starter for minimal fuel economy. Except for the swirl valve and the variable oil pump, everything diesel car on the planet made in the last 15 years, has all these features. Does the variable oil pump provide reduced oil pressure at high revs compared to a classic oil pump? This is what I understood, and again, it seems like a stupid idea to me. The swirl valve seems like a good idea, if it doesn't break.
@StealthB6 The starter for S&S features are enhanced compared to normal starter. The last 3 times longer. All carmakers uses this technloogy today for fuel economy.
Renault reliability is TERRIBLE! And these dci engines of theirs are truly the worst. They're in Nissans too Avoid Renault avoid Nissan and avoid reliability problems.

worst engine ever build!!!DO NOT BUY THIS ENGINE! this engine is also used in some Mercedes Cars. As a car mechanic from Mercedes i can tell you we have many problems with this engine! Because this technology is the most profitable?😊
From what I've read, It doesn't not have any major problems but still it is not as reliable as 1.5 DCI K9K engines.
