Like you said maintenance is the keys to longevity in a vehicle. Most vehicle failures occur during the warranty period and after that it is normal wear and tear. Take care of your vehicle and it will take care of you. Good info Ben.
I bought a new 2021 JLU Wrangler Sport EcoDiesel 3 1/2 years ago. I have 64,000 trouble free miles on it. I love it. The only recall was a high pressure fuel pump. The original pump worked fine until it was replaced. It is my only vehicle. I do drive it off road and have scratched it up a bit but otherwise it looks and drives like new. It has been very reliable.
2019 JLU Sahara 3.6 V6 has been very reliable so far with 115,000 kms on it. A few more minor squeaks as mentioned but nothing obnoxious. Did just notice a small puff of blue smoke when my wife started it yesterday. Tried repeating it this morning nothing there. Hoping it’s not an issue!
My 2020 Rubicon just hit 135K. I've taken her all over the country multiple times. I've had to repair/replace several things like alternator, A/C compressor, and of course the oil cooler (thats still an issue on these) just to name a few things but man I just enjoy driving her.
I bought a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with 100k on it and it's in great shape paint body interior-wise. The engine is solid and idles so smooth and has all it's beans. I have fixed allot on it but it's my reliable off road fishing camping rig!
I know Chrysler products have never been known for reliability. But this, the non hybrid 5.7 Hemi, the 6.4 Hemi, and the 6.7 Cummins high output are very reliable (6.7 Cummins standard output has transmission issues). Too bad the 5.7 Hemi is being discontinued. The Pentastar is very reliable, a little under powered, but that 8 speed is very reliable.
Jeeps rarely have major failures. Its the little stuff. Their weakness is electronics. If you keep it simple, they're pretty reliable. My Sport S has power windows, locks, keyless entry and the standard 7" infotainment screen and thats it. No lockers, no blind spot monitors, no heated seats. Its not luxurious but its given me no problems so far, other than a dead battery after 2.5 years.
I have a 2013 Jeep JKU Sahara with 178k miles. Fixing all the driveline, axel and suspension parts was expensive. Oil coolers will eventually leak and cam sensors will fail. If you can do the work your self it will save you a lot. The leather and paint have been excellent. The Pentastar if taken care of will last a long time. I would buy a Wrangler with 120k miles with a Penstastar and one owner.
@@atombomb6719 I thought the same thing. My wife got one in '21 with the 2.0 Turbo. We wanted the V6 but had to pay extra or get it with the Etorque - ended up with the 4 cyl as I thought it was less complex than the V6 Etorque. I must say I am pleasantly surprised. Great power and torque, and remarkable gas mileage. It had a water leak fixed under warranty due to a defective gasket - no problem since at 38k miles.
@byronlarson5534 I'm glad to hear it - I have the 21' JL 3.6 liter V6 with 6-speed manual transmission - 4 door. It's a ton of fun. The V6 has historically been tried and true- So I'm quietly watching the 4cyl and the hybrid/ plug-in set up. Seems like its the future of Wrangler and Gladiator.
This looks exactly like my jlu same color same Sahara features. I have modest lift with 34 inch nittos RG tires. My 2018 has 71500 miles. It’s been a great Jeep. I would send you a pic but can’t on here.
The JL was released 5 years ago. It's high mileage for the year, yes. Average mileage is like 12-15k per year, which would put 75k miles at the high end of the spectrum for "average" miles. If this was a '19 model year bought in 2018, 120k miles after 6 years is 20k miles per year. That's high mileage.
As a previous owner of three wranglers I can you they were NEVER reliable, but you tolerate the horrible quality because you can take the doors and roof off.
My Jeeps have been fantastic and very reliable! What’s amazing is you can beat these Jeep Wranglers so hard in MOAB and they just take it! No other manufacturer makes a vehicle that can take that punishment!
If you look at Long Term Quality Index you'll see that the Jeep Wrangler gets 11.3% problems with power train( engine and transmission) and the Toyota 4 Runner gets 10.3% problems
Any vehicle is only as good as the people who own them and keep up on maintenance, Jeep is no exception nor is Toyota or Honda if you don't take care of them they will have issues.
You can review my 2016 Avalon with 116,000 miles. Still runs like new, 3rd set of tires, replaced battery 6 years ago, still strong, still on original brakes. Best car I've ever owned from a reliability standpoint.
Like you said maintenance is the keys to longevity in a vehicle. Most vehicle failures occur during the warranty period and after that it is normal wear and tear. Take care of your vehicle and it will take care of you. Good info Ben.
I have a rubicon JKU 162k miles still runs strong lifted on 37s would not trade it for anything!
I have a 3 years old Wrangler with not a single issue so far. Took it to Breckenridge 2 weeks ago from Texas; saw so many Wranglers up in that area.
My first gen JL just ticked over 70Km...take care of it with regular service and 300Km is no problem on that V6. The ZF 8 Speed is what makes it work

What do you mean “still reliable”💀
First time for everything.😀
Dan Grec, Chris Shontz and many others who actually take their Jeeps around various continents will say they can be very reliable vehicles.
Haha 😆
@@gs98999 But how much work and change is involved to make them that way?
I just bought a used 2021 Rubicon with 50,000 miles on it. I feel more confident now that it will give me years of use.
keep you eye out for the dreaded corrision and ear out for the ticking from the rockers.

check the door edges, hood edge, and hinges for the corrosion defects
I would love to see high mileage on 2.0 turbo too 👏👏

I traded mine in with 110,000 with ZERO issues. Whoever bought it got a great Jeep.
love it this is something others are not doing very interesting

Enjoy your channel, Ben! Particularly like your comparisons of new cars - Colorado v Ranger was well done.

Review the 2.0 turbo with same mileage
That engine will be a paper weight

Would be nice to see a review on a 2015+ Charger/Challenger RT that has the 8 speed automatic in it, to see how that has held up.
How about a Chevy Traverse 2014-2018 or so . They have a reputation as junk but my experience with my 2016 is very positive..

@@backwoodstherapyit’s not. It’s slightly above average. 120k is to be expected for any vehicle for reliability.
You should make a review on a 3 year Tahoe and suburban with 50,000+ miles
Only thing that sucks about these with age is all the rattles otherwise they hold up well
Hi Ben. How about a “high milage” 392? Thanks!
You say 120,000 miles like it's a lot. I do about 45-50k per year!! LOL
As a previous owner of three wranglers I can you they were NEVER reliable, but you tolerate the horrible quality because you can take the doors and roof off.
How about a high milage 5th gen 4Runner?
Could you review a high mileage 2018-2020 Toyota tundra?
Can you review a high mileage F-150 Coyote?
Less to break is my MO 👍
I want to see how the new 3.0 will run at 120K????
Highest mileage Outback XT that you can find? Reliable?
Take those tires off put 35s tires on it than it looks better
@@KenMcCune-wb3jp exactly 👍🏻 i went with 34’s. Well 33.96 Nitto RG. 285/70/18. Really works well off roading and on the thick beach sand
👍🏿# 197! Please review a 2015+ Jeep Renegade with the 2.4L engine.
Figure out when the last V8 year is yet?
a used low mileage JL is a good buy
Can you try to find a 2013 Dodge ram 1500 with a 4.7 in it

Still???? More like "Will it ever be"
2020 Jeep grand Cherokee limited
That jeep is 10,000 plus taxes,no more
You can get the seats redone, slap a steering wheel cover on it. My co-worker did this to an 1986 Toyota truck we sold them that’s still running!
120,000 is high mileage? Laughs in Toyota.
My Dads ol TJ is still under 100,000 miles
You could call it a rolling garbage can that is completely useless and Jeepers would still buy them without even blinking! 😂 Loyalty at its finest
See if you can find a trackhawk

Save your time…. NO
Too bad its not a stick
It never has been reliable!

yeah but how many windshields has it been through? 🥲
