My favourite riding sequence starts at 5:21 . Another thing you may be wondering why there isn't any action cam footage from the bike. Unfortunately my camera died. It's now heading to the electronic waste site in the sky.
i am 52 years old been riding on and off my hole life this video just help me make up my mind on my next ride WR 250 R all the way thank you all the way from Ontario Canada
Jaw dropping broken finger moment....shows the importance of proper safety gear and strong a strong bike....respect. Thank you MAD for this fantastic article.
What a hoot of a ride! The WR is such a champ of a light-weight dual sport and instructive to see what top shelf suspension can do for an otherwise solid rig off the showroom floor. Excellent editing, as usual, Dave!
Those suspension modifications take an average bike and make it extraordinary. As I have alway said, this a potent round the worlder, or equally a fun dirtbike with a bullet proof engine. They've got about 2 years to go until Yamaha stops making them. Greg Yager is going to keep one of the last bikes into Australia pristine in a packing crate.
With the WR being such a popular model, why would Yamaha discontinue it? I have a hard time believing it's due to emission requirements since both the KLR650 and the DR650 have been around for 30 years with little modification. I picked up a second 2003 640 Adventure with only 5k miles on it so a riding buddy can join me.
It's TOM! I've only seen his face once before this video! Excellent video, I've loved watching them! I'm living vicariously through you, one day I hope to go on a long adventure ride.
These Teknik guys are in a class of their own. I came over fromEngland and rode a bike around Australia when I was a teenager (27k KM) and one day soon I am going to order a WR250R and get these mad bastards to sort the suspension out. It is so great that the WR250R is back, I have to admit that I am a Kato man to the bone but I do really respect that little rice burner.
Good day to all you mad WR250 riders this had been my first outing in 30 years on a dirt bike but not my last thanks to Greg and all the support team for a magnificent weekend safe trip home to all
CycleCruza what's up CycleCruza nice 👍 to see you checking this site out as well. Those guys are serious Rally riders. That suspension looks serious too.
The music makes your movies great. I love the change every few minutes keeps it interesting. Yet again another great video. Looked like a blast. How Lucky is that Yank walking away from that crash. Could of killed the whole event if it turned out badly.
Wonderful vid! I have a WR as well and would be interested to know what other significant mods were done to Tim’s WR beyond the fantastic suspension mods. Thank you for the inspiration!
Crazy shit down under A! Great video from start with all skill levels. I am building a 2018 WR250R right now with 3k miles on it. . I picked it up last week and it’s ready to rip the trails and street. No motor mods yet. She will set behind Mercedes Sprinter on the rack. Around Bend Oregon out!
I've been watching your videos for a while. Apparently long enough to recognize your voice just off camera on Riding with Tom's video on this event. So much fun.
Awesome video. Just discovered your channel better late then never going to watch some more. Also subscribed👍 Great bikd the wr250r just ask riding with Tom.
I agree Brian. In recent years I've become a very strong advocate of spending that extra time and and effort getting the suspension the best it can be for your weight and riding style. It makes a huge difference.
I have a great experience with Yamaha. It is the only Motorcycle brand I like. I wish to have a two strokes dual sports Yamaha Motorcycle 2019 model DT R/WR.
I hear everywhere that this bike can last forever , but i'm really wondering how many years can it last in these riding conditions? ( i mean without investing money in it , just eventually on minor things )
although this bike is not meant for me for its tall seat height, when i heard that it's discontinued in many countries it was a very sad news. such a fantastic bike probably the best in its class being ditched because of all these emissions regulations. people also complaint because it was too expensive for a 250 but when one sees videos like these one must really understands then why...the WR is a pure road legal Enduro not just a simple dualsport.
Interesting the Wacko's that ride 250 R's .......... rev limiter's were working overtime in this video . I didn't hear the disclaimer that no engines were harmed in making this video ......... Was that an oversight or just a wise omission of the facts ?
poor old tim pro suspension but i don't think it his style it looks like the back shock was packing and the rebound adjustment was set to slow and the rear wheel could not return to the bottom of the rut they need to learn how to set up a bike suspention

Motorcycle Adventure Dirtbike TV you must be a little MAD letting us ride so close to those expensive cameras

It's a great little bike.
If I bought WR 250r, it would be because of this video rather than a Yamaha ad campaign.
Jaw dropping broken finger moment....shows the importance of proper safety gear and strong a strong bike....respect. Thank you MAD for this fantastic article.
I am buying a WR250R tomorrow. Excited and thankful they are such great bikes!!!
Good choice!

Hail the WR250R! I'm getting my suspension done too!
Slide ackshunn.
I need some SLIDE ACTION, Like a Chinese scooter, just kidding, you guys are hardcore rally riders.

Epic Video! Thank you for sharing this awesome experience and marvelous WR250R MC!

Great Vid. Tim looks like a good sport for a seppo! Hats off to him for dusting himself off after that come off.

Wonderful vid! I have a WR as well and would be interested to know what other significant mods were done to Tim’s WR beyond the fantastic suspension mods. Thank you for the inspiration!
You guys definitely know how to have fun.

Excellent. great little bike.
Awesome rally! Lucky guy that Tim and riding hard! Sorry about that hand, way to represent. Hello RWTom at 14:54
Badass ride guys! And that finger! Lol, 90 degree bend! Respect to Tim.
Ouch fingers, wow, lucky man, so wrr is totally a dual sport even with the suspension mods.

When you here a voice 😊👌 I know that voice that’s my fav you tube person riding with Tom 👌👌👌

Welcome aboard! There are hundreds of videos here.
The WR250R is still my favorite
Pity they don't make them anymore.
That bloke had his angel watching over him that day by the sounds of it.
Jorge Gonzalez most definitely I did
Dualsport Hooligan hope you enjoyed your time here mate!
Jorge Gonzalez I most certainly did, was a dream come true! Thanks mate 👍🏻
Dualsport Hooligan im riding down to Sydney next yr for it. Looks like a well organised rally.
Thanks for this high quality video. This looks like a fun even to be a part of
It is worth doing the upgrade. You don’t realise how much power and forward motion is lost on basic suspension until you get upgraded.
I agree Brian. In recent years I've become a very strong advocate of spending that extra time and and effort getting the suspension the best it can be for your weight and riding style. It makes a huge difference.
You do awesome work Dave. You did an awesome job on this video. Thanks to you and Greg for letting me tag along.
I hope I wasn't too pushy getting the shots, but you can see now where they came from and how I set them up. Now, keep those secrets! :)
Love how Chicken rubs his nipples at 6:46 :)
Not at all. I'm glad I didn't get in your way too much. It was a blast and great to see you work to get those perfect shots.
I nearly lost it when Chicken almost mounted Lee
why is it that my WR doesn't go that fast?!
Dave thanks for the video mate it was a fun event and I'm still scratching my head that Tim got away with that accident.
Yeah I had a great time. It was great catching up again.
Great video! What gearing front/rear do you normally run please?
standard gearing what the bike comes with.
Obivously, like any bike it will need maintenance and parts replacement.
Omg, you guys made a superb trip which I can't image that was wrr, may I ask about the gearing setting, just amaze me how comes power or the rider
Ayee I saw myself in a few shots! What a quick edit!
Jumping the tracks was sick.
He won't forget his aussie vacation!

Unlimited trails in Australia, they go on forever.

This was an amazing video!
Send it!
that was awesome , liked (thumbs up)
Super late to the party but this video is fantastic
Glad you liked it!!
What tires did most riders use?
That was years ago, I have no idea.
Dr Dave at it again. You seem to know your first aid.
yep, know a little bit
Interesting the Wacko's that ride 250 R's .......... rev limiter's were working overtime in this video . I didn't hear the disclaimer that no engines were harmed in making this video ......... Was that an oversight or just a wise omission of the facts ?
Bikes regularly on the rev limiter. Those engines a bullet proof. Omission of facts as to overnight stay.
I've bounced one off the rev limiter daily for 25 thousand miles, and it still ran perfectly like the day I bought it after.
But dont tell anyone else please, it's a secret
When is this wrr rally?
End of April each year. This is the second one and has doubled in entries.
Can't believe they discontinued this bike still...
I shake my head.
Anyone who gives this a thumbs down is a liberal snowflake! This is pure bliss! I’m getting a WR!!
Hello everywone, wath is the best tires for dual sport for wr250r? 50 road end 50 offroad, not stock tires! Thanks
Take a look at the Shinko 700
