    @ 00:50 I'd call juice fasting, nutritional saturation. I did it to get ready to go cold turkey on sugar/HFCS, wheat, corn, soybean and most rice. Without good nutrition, breaking the addiction to added sugar will end in failure because of the cravings and mind game rational one plays on pizza night. Juicing helps to slay the Beast of Carb.

    Mic Drop!! I truly appreciate what you are saying John! And it takes guts since most of the raw vegan community seems to have been hypnotized into thinking these juice cleanses are the end-all-be-all! I've seen many in the community go down from these fasts where one was actually a life-threatening situation and I had to step-in and advise medical interevention. It's almost a game to them, to see who can last the longest. They no longer listen to their bodies but listen to their "leaders" or whoever is out there to impress upon them second-hand info that is subpar. Thanks for sticking your neck out there and telling it like it is!

    The main point you're not addressing John, is that lots of people go on a long term juice fast to get rid of an illness/disease. With your method it can take upwards of 3 years to accomplish. With a juice fast it can take only 3 months. How long would you prefer to wait if you were sick? However, your method would be a great introduction to build up to a long term juice fast. Also - most people should be sticking to a whole foods / plant based diet after their long term juice fast is complete, otherwise they're defeating the purpose of the juice fast.

      There are pros and cons to long juice fasts. Surely if I was sick and had an immediate health situation, I would not do a perpetual juice cleanse. I would first look to medical supervised water fasting and then juice fasting such as the Gerson Therapy or some other "proven" natural therapy. There are many "juice fasts" being promoted by IMO unqualified people online that scare me. If someone just wants to lose weight and get healthier, I think it is more sustainable to do a perpetual juice cleanse as I Share in this episode based on what I have seen, if someone wants long, term, sustainable results.

    I don't think your number one reason for not doing a juice fast should keep someone from doing it, who plans on sticking with a healthy whole foods plant based diet. There are some really good reasons to do a 30-day juice fast, especially if you've been living on the typical American diet most of your life. You need to break up all the impacted crap in your lower intestines and colon. Merely switching to a healthy whole foods plant-based diet and juicing occasionally, or daily, is not going to rid your body of all the impacted crap for quite some time if ever. There is one other way to do a really good cleanse in your lower intestine and colon without juice fasting, that's doing ozonated colonics.

    • @RenegadeOfFunk00
      @RenegadeOfFunk00 Год назад +1

      yeah, i was pretty surprised with his reasons
      it basically amounts to "if you're a normie that's not ready for a radical change, don't do it"
      i do appreciate his perspective on the psychology of ping-ponging
      but i reckon that, to an extent, ping-ponging is a necessary part of the path to actually make it a lasting change in your health and consciousness - experimenting with and comparing different states of consciousness that the different diets bring
      the only other point he makes outside of that is the fiber necessary for a healthy micro-biome, to which he speaks about the importance of eating dormant foods such as beans and grains, which i disagree as being optimal
      in any case, i would take it as common sense that that the (on average) 10-20lb of accumulated rotting poison in our guts and throughout our bodies accumulated over years is much more damaging to our micro-biome compared to a reduction in fiber. maybe less fiber IS less optimal for the micro-biome, but there is no other choice if someone is serious about cleaning up. the only other choice is water fasting. then commit to rebuilding the micro-biome with raw foods, as committal as they were during their juice fast
      so it's basically a non-video. but might be a helpful video for bottom of the barrel normies not ready for a serious change

      There are pros and cons to both blending and juicing :) I do both Vacuum blending and Slow juicing.
      The issue with using a vitamix is that while you KEEP the fiber, you LOSE phytonutrients, due to the oxidation from the blending process.
      For me, I get plenty of fiber in my diet, and sometimes want to eat LESS fiber because studies show greater nutrient intake when you eat food with reduced fiber, such as juices.
      I would encourage you to upgrade your vitamix so you do not OXIDIZE the phytonutrients by purchasing a vacuum blender addition for your vitamix. Please watch the video I will upload in a day or two where I show the two best options out there to do this with a vitamix.

    • @discountjuicers
      @discountjuicers  Год назад +9

      I recommend doing both. I make vacuum blended salads sometimes, but also chew my salads. Both are beneficial for different reasons. It is important to exercise our jaws. So if you do vacuum blend your salad, make sure you "chew" your vacuum blended salad to help it digest better. You could also eat half of the salad, and then vacuum blend the other half, to cut the time down by half.

      Fresh juice is better than juice powders. That being said, high quality juice powders can have a place in a health diet. For example, I use a wheatgrass juice powder since wheatgrass can be hard to find for me, but I drink virtually all my other veggies that I make fresh myself. It is important to discover if you are getting a juice powder (more concentrated) or a whole food powder as well as how the product is dried, as that will reduce nutrition in the end product.
