Sona’s anger during these quizzes rivals, if not exceeds, Conan’s passive aggressive anger. It’s amazing! 😂
Conan isn’t passive aggressive. He’s more curious, intelligent and likes pushing people who aren’t normally challenged. I think it’s pretty bold and interesting. I think the guy in glasses is more passive aggressive than Conan

Little things, like Gourley's look of excitement when Conan pitches submitting a Bond song together @ 4:43, is why I watch these videos after listening to the podcast
It isn't really the same thing, but Gourley's band, Townland, did a cover of "All Time High" on their most recent record, and they have a few other covers of Bond songs out there. They're really great!

It was actually Radiohead's second time being rejected for a Bond theme. In 1997 during the OK COMPUTER sessions, they recorded a song called "Man of War" which was unreleased until a couple years ago. And it's also a fantastic song.

I remember being legitimately upset when Radiohead’s Spectre was rejected. It was legitimately the best bond theme I’d ever heard.

@@mrblonde1264 Mate of mine always stacked extra cash somewhere, we were kids then so I'd just go home in anger. When playing risk all the pieces were moved around when I went to the bathroom. Or when I was just about to win the board would go up in the air: "no winner, board is gone". Getting angry thinking about it again.

I’ve listened to every James Bonding episode with Matt Gourley. It’s worth your time if you’re a fan. Him and Matt Mira are great and they have a guest for each episode when they’re viewing a movie.
Loved Jack White's Jeff Goldblum impression about that bond-theme song related episode, that one was just great, quite convincing. LOL😆

Anyone who hasn't heard Radiohead's submission is missing out. It's not an immediate song, it takes a couple of listens before it sinks underneath your skin, but it's shimmeringly lovely. As you'd expect.
They also did a sublime cover of Nobody Does It Better which shows off Thom's voice like few other songs, and wrote an unreleased track in the mid 90s called Man O' War, which, well, it basically just *is* a Bond theme in every particular, it just hasn't been used in a Bond film. Clearly there's something about Bond that appeals to them.

I listened to every James Bonding episode even though I only really love about 50% of the Bond films. I love listening to him talk about Bond with the enthusiasm and love he has for it.
Keep it up Gourley, love Bond film trivia. I knew the first one, didn't know the second but my guess was correct. Did not know and wouldn't have guessed the third.

I listened to this episode a couple weeks ago. Ok, I'm sort of learning where they are. Due to some things Conan had said (apparently as a joke, now I realize), I thought they (TeamCoco company) had bought a cute house somewhere and reconstructed it into office spaces and a couple of podcast studios. People love to do this in my state, everywhere: buy up a nice multi-story house from the early 20th century and remodel it into law, or architecture, or historical office spaces. But it turns out... they're still on the WB lot 😂 So much for romanticizing this place we're looking at now lol
Btw, finished Season 1 yesterday, and just started the Dana Carvey deep dive today!

Radiohead had a song that was rejected because it was not written specifically for Bond ("Man Of War") and then they wrote an produced a second/new song for Spectre (the song was also called "Spectre") which was rejected as well. So they actually submitted 2 Bond-songs.

Here is a fact- James bond's theme was inspired by(yeah right) "Bad Sign, Good Sign" by the same guy, created for an Indian musical adaptation.
In the same way, Britney took the theme of "Toxic" from an Indian song.
