- How to get rid of Mealybugs on plants? We often find Mealybugs on plants and here in this video I have provided 5 very easy ways to get rid of Mealybugs fast. Whether you are growing any flowering plants like Hibiscus, Rose, Portulaca or even Houseplants, by using these methods you would be able to get rid of Mealybugs on plants forever.
All these methods are easy and it would take only few minutes to remove the Mealybugs from your plants. If it rains just after applying the insecticide, please repeat once again within 48 hours. It's also important to spray once in a gap of 2-3 days for a plant which is badly affected. In other case, we can apply the insecticide once in 7-10 days just to avoid the Mealybugs in our garden.

Just grind some cloves & put about 1 to 2 teaspoons on the soil. Works on all plants. Pests hate the smell of cloves. Do this every 2 to 3 months.

Neem oil with shampoo or hand wash is the easiest and safest. You had shown it in earlier videos. It's very very effective. Even my croton had a severe attack of mealy bugs. And I sprayed the above combination 3 times and the pests were gone

Very useful information. We can even use 1ml kerosene per ltr water or fermented rice water 2-3ml per litre or mixture of baking soda1teaspoon+liquid handwash4-5drops in 1ltr water. These all methods actually removes the waxy protective layer .

Here in my garden the problem I have is with aphids, they love my roses 😩 I don't like using chemicals on them as I really don't like to kill them, so this year I will try using the detergent method. I have a problem with vine weevils, they love my heuchera plants, they totally destroyed the roots of many of them and the tops of my plants just totally came off, it was an awful sight. 😔

Aphids...I too get them on my Roses and first 2 methods work against Aphids too, unless there are not too many Aphids. Sorry to know about your Heuchera plants, they are really very beautiful. Very very rare and difficult to find in my place. But still, I collected once. Unfortunately, it couldn't handle the Summer temperature even though I kept in shade 😔😔

Thanks to your video managed to get rid of Mealybugs that had infested it, the infestation stopped and dried within 24 hours, then I cleaned the plant and cut off the areas where there was some infestation, now its growing well

I usually grind 2-3 garlics only, mix them with 2-3 litres of water and keep them in a bottle or sealed container for couple hours before applying on my plants.
What about the mealybugs in the soil infesting on the roots?
Do they? I confess, my knowledge about plant infestation is very little, yes these bugs attack the roots also.

My Gardenias had grown beautifully .Recently they got attacked by caterpillars which stripped off all the new leaves. Plants had grown up to 1 1/2 ft. In 10 " pots. Would it be O.K. to prune all the branches at this time.?

My Camilla has shed all its leaves after I sprayed been oil hand wash solution on it to get rid of scales . I am anxious . Will the leaves grow back . Camilla being a slow growing plant and mine is small one........Is my concern .
Roots are nice and stem is drying at some places but main stem is green inside though. What do you suggest ??
@Komal mehta, I believe you wanted to say Neem oil. If you haven't used excess amount (more than 7ml), plant won't shed leaves because of Neem oil. The problem is something else. Anyway, Neem oil is organic and it doesn't harm like Chemical pesticide. For Chemical pesticide, if we use 2ml instead of 1ml, we may find issues like you. Sure, leaves would grow as roots are fine. At this time, please avoid watering regularly and don't keep the plant under too much direct sunlight. 1-2 hours of morning Sunlight would be fine. Good luck with your plant :-)

Sir mn croton plant purchase kiya use indorr rkha hai ghar ke andar . Abhi white fungus shuru hui hai .use light mn rkhna chaiye to thik ho ayega. Ya ghr ke andar hi

We can use neem oil + handwash remedy daily for 4 to 5 days continuously ..for getting rid of mealybugs ? Is it safe for plants ? On daily basis we have to use only on the effected plants?

@Zeba Salim, Azadirachtin and salannin are the major components of Neem oil and yes, seller is correct. It's organic. For the Dose, you can take 5ml pesticide + 4ml light hand wash => Mix them in 1 liter water and then spray on your plant. If you are worried, before applying on the whole plant, please apply only on few leaves and see if there is any side effects. If you don't see any issue, apply everywhere. Good luck :-)

Inside house - Hmm, won't be a good idea as you might not like the smell (please avoid using Chemical one at any cost). Instead, you can try using Lizol Disinfectant Floor Cleaner or Naphthalene balls in their entrance area, good luck!

There is nothing to worry if we are using only organic :-) I have found another good organic product and it's Exodus (available on Amazon). But overall saying, Neem oil + Hand wash works perfectly for Mealybugs.

Nothing to worry actually...but since you are worried, please make a very light solution by mixing with water. The Chemical pesticides are much more dangerous than Lisol spray....but we can spray easily, whenever needed!

I'm just here to tell the truth I was gifted a dragon tree it had mealy bugs all over and in the crevices I showered it 3 days in a row then I let it sit for maybe a week. I still noticed some but not many . I used Clorox wipes and wiped down each leaf and in the crevices . It's been about 5 days since and I haven't seen 1 mealy bug at all 😮 I shocked myself . I keep checking over and over and still nothing . Also the same person gifted me a dying croton it had spider mites I showered it 2 days left it in the shower went back cleaned it with Clorox wipes applied thin layers of Vaseline and kept it under my grow light. No spider mites no mealy bugs no leaf burns discoloration or nothing . I'm happy I even used superthrive foliage spray on the dragon tree and it has new growth all over
