    Awesome communication, lead truck right out wide on the curves to straighten the pull line and the next truck set in a bit and still clearing the inside guard rail with the trailer, hair raising gear change before the waiting cars and off into the dirt to get clearance, can only imagine the strain on the trailer pin.
    Great job.

    The sound of that Horton fan cutting in and out reminded me of the very first time I drove a truck with a Horton in it. I was crawling up the Drummond Range, coming from Gladstone, in a Western Star with two "W" tankers full of cyanide briquets when the Horton fan suddenly cut in and frightened the livin' be-jesus out of me! I had already been warned of the risk of stopping on the Drummond. ( One bloke did and wound the tail shaft off trying to get going again and another got his drive wheels half across the cattle grid on the hill, when the lead wheels lost traction and spun and that broke an axle. Both times the trucks and trailers sat halfway up the range for two days! ) So, I just had to screw up the courage to keep going and pray it wasn't too serious, until I got onto some reasonably flat ground to check it all out.
    I reckon most of us who have been up the track know that feeling - when your arsehole sucks your bum onto the seat and you suddenly break out into a soaking sweat on a cold day! It's enough to drive a man to drink....and it did!

    This is an awsome video, real powerhouse big rigs. Mack trucks are my favorite, the Mack Titan has very serious pulling power. The Freightliner 122SD could not pull this load, the Mack Titan would come out like true champion. Awsome video

      @@yo9758..... Apparently, Mr. "Know it All".... you don't consider an 11% gradient with 573, 201.88 lbs in tow (260 Metric Tonnes), for several miles.... very impressive. For your information... it Does Snow in Australia! I am Not an Australian trucker, but have driven over there and I have the utmost respect for the "truckie's" in Australia.. as a semi retired American Trucker with a total of 52 Years - OTR, mostly Heavy Haul as an Independent O/O.
      Other than possibly Wolfs Creek Pass, name me some 11+ percent grades here in the US, that are on major Fed. & State Hwys. Canada has longer and steeper grades that the US does, on their side of the Rockies, and even they are usually not more than 8 to 10%, like on the No.3 at Cresston and Osoyoos, BC. on two lanes with several tight switchbacks.

    • @TGLAZEY99
      @TGLAZEY99 7 лет назад +2

      the first one is usually 1 and half to 2 kms infront of the load to warn oncoming traffic of its size and weight so they have time to stop and pull off the road. Oh believe me they need the police escort to move it and they usually have 3 or more with them. The Aussie truckies are without a doubt the best in the world and thats coming from an Aussie

      The key to keeping in sync with the gears and revs is to keep an eye on the truck in front of you - and another important thing is communication! Communication between every driver in the pull is also key to keeping in sync

      Here - in Australia - all very large over dimensional loads like this are planned MONTHS in advance and yes the local police and other authorities would have had more than adequate warning that something big was gonna happen on this day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
      Thus they were out there awaiting it and closed the road to all other users when the BIG EVENT arrived.
      Personally I have seen 700 tons go down the wrong side of a divided highway - Mount Ousley -because the right side was too weak to take the ground pressures.
      When you see THREE TRACTORS (prime movers) at the front and FOUR behind, all on Dynatard - then you know SOMETHING BIG IS BEING MOVED.
      I once watched a show called Mega Moves - Canadian I think - where halfway through the mega move, as time was running out - they encountered an unforeseen problem. No chance of it happening here -- but of course occasionally it does.

      When I worked with Rail in NSW Australia, the wheat trains would leave Moree as a Triple Header, 3 engines. Over the Murrurundi Range they had another 3 pushing. Around 2,000 ton. 5 gallons of fuel to the mile. That is imperial gallons. Much larger than US gallon.

    The MP10 motor has various power models, but the 685hp version can be ECU tuned to approx 745hp. Thats not to say other mods wouldnt make it achieve more hp...., but if they are all 685 models just with ecu tuning then I'd say its more like 2200hp.

    Admiditly that was a fair pull. However they had 9 horse power per ton.
    My farther in a TK Bedford with 100 hose power, and 5 speed box and 2 speed dif could pull at least 12 ton, up equally steep climbs. Unsure if he had a heavier load. His truck was legal 7 ton pay load and 5 ton empty. So 19 ton with 100 horse power.
    We are talking Dorrigo mountain. 3000 feet climb in 7 miles. New South Wales Australia.

    Three Bulldogs really working hard towing the equivalent weight of a Boeing 777-200ER Jetliner, no wonder they are barking too hard,, To me all three are under powered to be thrashed like that, especially in arduous conditions, . I,d love to have a Mack Titan , change the engine and fit a Big Kitty-Cat, their monster V12 Industrial engine at 960hp its serious pulling ponies to play with. Juice it up to 1200hp 1500-1600hp with turbo compounding, coupled to an eight speed Clark Power Shift gearbox, three speed plus overdrive auxiliary box and three short geared Clark double reduction drive axles. My trio of mutated Bulldogs would pull that load with 1200-1300rpm on the tacho smack in the green happy band. I hate revving the guts out of a big diesel.

    • @Signaturegen2
      @Signaturegen2 Год назад

      You might need to lay off the crack pipe, a V12 wouldn’t fit in the chassis for a start, to keep 1600hp cool you would need a radiator the size of the back of the truck pulling up there,
      Then all the reduction shit you wanna add in would make them about 8mtrs long, most of the heavy haulers have Joey boxes to reduce strain on drive train, and you keep these in line 6’s at high revs so it is pulling cold air into the engine and the fan is pulling at max rpm to cool the cooling package, your ‘mutated’ Mack’s would overheat and shit in the first 100mtrs, but if you ever do some stupid shit like that please inform me so I can watch the explosion
