You are exactly right Katie. Episode five is the best episode of “The Acolyte”. The action scenes in this episode is its savior. The one downside is that we didn’t get a chance to see the Wookie Jedi fight. With that being said, the show is still terrible. The writing and the dialogue is atrocious. These critics that say this show is great and compelling obviously have been paid off or just complete idiots at this point. There’s no way that they can sit there and look at the first two or three episodes and say to themselves that this is some of the best Star Wars ever. saber fights” 🤔? I’ve seen better Light saber fights in a fan made video. Calling Star Wars fans weird because they don’t like the acolyte is weird in itself. Everyone has a right to their opinion and to call someone weird because they don’t agree with you exposes your narcissistic thought process. “I can love it, but how dare you hate it”. People have every right to feel however they want to feel about it and they should be free to express themselves without being trashed by someone with a different viewpoint.
EXACTLY! There are better lightsaber fights in fan made videos, and just because there was more action in this episode, it doesn't excuse the plethora of other issues with the show. Even if this wasn't a Star Wars project, it wouldn't be a good show. Now everyone is entitled to their own opinion but bashing people who don't like the show is ridiculous
@@holdmydualshock there are videos here on RUclips with professional fencers and stuntmen who say the choreography is lame, the timing and moves leave them far too open to attack, yet the characters are so dumb they don't realise it! Someone else noticed that they put CGI trees in the way of some shots, so you wouldn't see how bad the moves are and so you don't see a decapitation. 😂
I think liking a bad show because it has the same name as something that used to be good is weird. So, anyway, ep. 5 was really, really bad. I get that it had action and that’ll get a lot of people to favor it more, but the reality is that the amount of bad writing and stupid in this episode was almost non stop. From Mae’s fluid and contrived 180 degree changes in motivation, from Jedi and Sith not using abilities constantly, to Sol just not existing somehow while his Jedi friends get slaughtered, to Yorn coming to aid Sol from the opposite direction than we last saw him, with one Padawan out performing groups of Jedi Knights, and Sithboi not killing Jedi when he absolutely should and would, and Sithboi vanishing like Batman. Oh. And head butting lightsabers. At least nobody sang anything lame, I guess; there is that small mercy. The writers didn’t change so it’s not getting any better. And by the way, a character isn’t a character just because they’re given a name. Jecki and Yorn were named npc’s. And OSHA and Jecki didn’t develop a relationship because they had ONE conversation. Bad writing is bad writing. Winning a prize for being the least smelly turd in the crap pile is not anything to be very proud of.
Correction : The helmet of the "Sith" is probably made of Cortosis, which is a really rare and expensive material to have. It's not really technological, it's just really rare. So the bumping the saber with his head is acceptable in those scenes. (If later they confirm it's Cortosis or similar material)
Personally, I think that's really cool but I wish that had been a part of the dialogue to explain what the helmet was made of and why it was so rate.
@@holdmydualshock Most of the people don't even know about Cortosis, way less knowned than Beskar. Even the Jedis may be in the dark and won't understand what is happening
Quimir (Smilo Ren) confirms that it is Cortosis in Episode 6, in fact he literally points to a vein of the ore in a rock right by him. That is as lame as it sounds!! 🤦♂️🤣
The irony that the weird part is: what the hell was the idea of making a show about nothing? That's weird to me. To find a show runner that does not care about the lore and the fans... That's weird... Really weird. Empty episodes lacking story or purpose. Very, very weird
Very true.... blowing an 180 million dollar budget with no working jedi fight, weird.... having an actress play twins but not change the delivery of any of the lines, weird.... have a villian identify as a sith even though they're not supposed to be known, weird... there's a lot of weird stuff going on and I think it has nothing to do with the fans

@@holdmydualshock Roger that. Also, I could use some advice on what type of webcam I should use incase I start using the streamyard. And who knows? If I can get one that can allow me to access streamyard and youtube at the sametime, I might have a chance to discuss plenty on what's going down with the Acolyte and maybe even more.

Episode 5 was the best of them so far...but because I'm not invested in most characters or the story...it's a stand alone, just ok episode. Just glad there wasn't any stupid lines spouted out by the sith guy like "attack me with all your strength".
It was a step in the right direction, maybe too little too late...the series is still VERY bad as a whole. (I stick around for Master Sol and kinda like the Sith guy) I hope the last few episodes at least maintain episode 5's energy.
Edit: Is it just me or is Osha/Mae's acting terrible? Zero connection with her... Don't like to hate on people but what a different show it would be to me if they had a compelling actress. She lost that special something she had in The Hunger Games.
Hahaha they still had ridiculous dialogue by having Sol ask the sith why would he expose himself just so they could do the exposition dump but yes it wasn't as bad as " attack me with all your strength "
I agree Sol and the sith guy are the best actors and the most intriguing parts of the show.
And your are definitely not alone. Amandla Stenberg is just not a good actress. She plays both twins as if they are the exact same person. Originally the only way I could tell them apart was bc of the hair, yet they should have had distinctly different personalities and delivered lines differently.

A couple of ideas wrapped in stupid.. that's modern movies and shows.. they really should stop adapting fanfiction into these shows.

I don’t even think episode 5 was all that good.. better than the rest yes but still… poor acting, terrible dialogue, and I felt like they really wanted it to be shocking with the deaths of 2 main characters but I honestly don’t really care about any of the characters because the show has done a terrible job MAKING me care about them. One of the worst parts is watching the main actress act exactly the same for Osha and Mae. I mean I know they’re twins so they LOOK the same but come on. They’ve had two very different lives from what we can gather so would behave differently. It’s just stupid.
Yes they completely dropped the ball on the twins but really the whole cast. No one talks in a normal way, emotions are all over the place, people contradict themselves in the same episodes. So no it's still not good but ep 5 is the best in the pile of wishy washy fan fiction we have seen

Does it make me a Shill because I like The Acolyte? Me, well I like it because it's Star Wars it's not perfect but it's Star Wars and I like everything Star Wars, from Legends to Canon, Darth Revan is my favorite character outside of the Skywalker saga. So yeah and I'm a video editor so I pretty much edit anything Star Wars related.

Episode 3 was a 3/10 for me though seeing different beliefs in the force were cool and also for Ki-Adi Mundi nothing is ruined with him Since he didn't have a canon birth date, I do my research on wookiepeia not even back in 2024-2023 says nothing for a Canon Birth

I’m not gonna sugarcoat it at all…. I could care less about the dialogue or the characters or the scenes. Could of been As good as back to the future. But as soon as you throw in pronouns scenes and gender sexuality as the main driver of your story… I’m out .. not Star Wars and not Dr who…..
Star Wars was a great escape from reality. Set in a galaxy far, far away in an undisclosed time, not bound by the real world but obviously influenced. The acolyte takes a galaxy far, far away, and makes it seem very close to home, and the same goes for Dr. who. I will always love Star Wars and Dr. who but it is heartbreaking to watch these ips get dragged through the mud.
