T h a n k you v e r y much for all of your English classes, especially for this one about "Writing Skilll". I never thought that I would ever watch such an astonishing "lesson" on my life. When I saw this kind of class on youtube, I always changed to another kind of class; owing to the fact that it was not for me - though I wished very much it were. Now, thanks to you, I feel much more confident to watch "writing skill" videos. "Thou art" (from Emma - Engvid) a fantastic tutor and "art" also everything what people wrote about you "at the commentary" - this space at which I am writing right now. I do not know the name of it in English. I noticed that this video is already "on air" for more than 6 years. (sorry, you are getting old). I started to use a cell phone (Neo 3 -Samsung just recently - I am 62 by the way - and I regret not having been able to watch your videos before. The "Holy Spirit" showed you to me about 20 years ago. I knew that one day I would watch your amazing videos - belief it or not, but it is true. "I Do not Drink" T H A N K Y O U V E R Y M U C H ! PS. I am really fortunate to have such an informative video on understanding of a parallel structure. Apparently, this is one of the best video ever I watched on you tube.

Thank you so much Adam! Im gonna take IELTS academic in february. your videos are very helpful and useful for me. Hope to get a high band score thanks to your lessons.
This tutorial is amazing!!! I took the English portion of the GKT and bombed last month. I feel like i can conquer the test now with because of your tutorial!!! ♥️♥️♥️
Great lessons. You explain complex stuff in a very easy way. Also you do not forget even tiny aspects of the topic that you explain. I mean that in one video you cover everything related to the topic and there is no need to search for other videos. When you talk about, for example, present perfect tense, even though I thought I know this topic, I realized that I did not know a lot. And the problem is that nobody else explains all the aspects together. You do, and it is very understandable, convenient and easy to use. Please, make the video about the articles (a, the). I know that there are a whole bunch of videos on youtube about this, and I also think that I know how to use them. However, I there are still questions, that appear when I try to write. For example, in this video you said: "by train, by plane, or by car" If I wrote this, I would definitely have done a mistake and written it like this: "by a train, by a plane, or by a car" Please, make the video about this. I bet many eanglish learners face this problem from time to time, even though this is one of the most fundamental topics. We need your help. Thank you very much. This is a great channel. Please, keep doing this. Thumb up
So many thanks. Such nice tips you offer in this video. Thanks a lot for sharing your valuable knowledge with your learners. You are an amazingly great teacher.
hello, great video, it has helped me a lot. i´d like you to help me with a question, because i´ve investigated by myself this topic in Internet and and I found some examples that cause me confusion. 1.-They didn’t agree not only about the project but also about the people to involve in it. 2.-Either he wants to swim or he doesn’t want to swim. Why in the second case the subject is written after the conjuction and in the first it does not happen that? i

Sir at 20:33. Should we not use "in which he concluded that human error was infact to be blamed'' instead of ''human error was infact to blame for the crash?
Dear teacher, I have seen this amazing video several times, it is amazingly great and useful topic for English learners. Can I ask a question?#1 is my original sentences. can I have #2 and #3? or not? why? 1) "Air pollution may come either from the ocean as natural contaminants given off by sea life or from the internal combustion engines of automobile." 2) "Air pollution may come from either the ocean as natural contaminants given off by sea life or the internal combustion engines of automobile." 3) "Air pollution may either come from the ocean as natural contaminants given off by sea life or come from the internal combustion engines of automobile."
Thanks for all you work sir , I was hoping you would help me in this two sentences : I told John that I could not go but I had good reasons. ..... He was not only kind but also knew when to help people . Thank you
Thank you so so much for this lesson, I have a question which makes me confused. My conclusion about 4 sentences is right in terms of grammar ?? 1. I go to school and play football with my friends. ( wrong) ??---> same the fourth sentence?? 2. I go to school , and I play soccer with my friends. (right) ?? 3. I go to school and I play soccer with my friends. ( right) 4. I go to school , and play football with my friends. ( right)??
Hi Adam, I would like to ask whether the sentence below has parallel structure or not? If yes, is that ok to use " where to begin" instead of " where+ noun" like the first part? "You should have a good idea of where the information you need should be and where to begin looking for it" Looking forward to your answer. Thank you
Hi Adam, I`m truly grateful. Thanks to you for all your video lessons. They are very useful and helpful. You are, in fact, an excellent and experienced English teacher. I hope you don`t mind my asking, but could you help me out of the word " as ". It may introduce adverbial clauses of manner, of degree, of comparison, of reason, of time, and adjectival clauses. Thanking you and looking forward to hearing from you soon. Best regards, Fazil
Hi, Adam, appreciate the extremely useful lessons that you gave. I confused a little bit here, though. The last example, you said there is no anchor, but I thought the anchor was at the 2nd clause: the doctors gave(the doctors and they are the same ones?). Therefore, I thought it should've been: but the doctors only gave the drug(s?) to two of them and a placebo to the third. Or, the doctors only gave two of them the drug(no s?) and the third a placebo. Please kindly advise, thanks.
Hi Adam, thank you for your useful videos! I have a question related to the use of the parallel structure with a list of infinitives: You pointed out the example: Jim likes to swim, to cycle, and to play soccer However, I saw that “to” can be used only before the first verb in the sentence, for example: Mary likes to hike, to swim, and to ride a bicycle. Or, Mary likes to hike, swim, and ride a bicycle. (Example from Purdue OWL) Is it always necessary to repeat “to” or can it be dropped in some cases? Thanks for your help.
You can chose to repeat it all through or write it before the first item of the list. However, i prefer to write before the first item of the list. Both are acceptable.
All campers are advise to bring mosquito spray as well as a waterproof rain jacket, and to be on time for departure Saturday morning. Here is it possible to use as well as instead of and before comma and S should be capital in Sunday. Is it correct? Do it make sense?
Hi Adam! I'm enjoying learning with your videos. Thanks for that. Actually, I am confused about a sentence that I have taken from 'Ted talks' that is ' this hour, Ted speakers on how genes and experience collaborate - and compete - to make us who we are.' I'm quite unsure of whether or not it is right. I could find no main verb in it. Please assist me. Thanks in advance!
There were several of Breakfast that everyone can pick on table, it includes: croissant, Japanese noodle, sandwich and burger. Notice me if I made any mistakes above sentences😊thx!
Hi Adam: Is it right to use "more than one tense in a sentence"? For example: I have analyzed the report, but I did not find it useful. I am not sure whether this sentence is correct or not. I would appreciate if you clarify this in one of your lesson.
Hi Jatin, It's absolutely OK to have two clauses in one sentence e.g. with "pronoun + verb" as long as you join the clauses with conjunctions (or semi-colon ";"). However, beware of so-called comma splices. Check out this video at engvid: www.engvid.com/comma-splices/
Very interesting and instructive lesson, Adam. Sir, could you please tell me whether I have applied parallel structure or not in the following sentence. "Tim was considered to be a good employee because he was never late, was very motivated and was not lacking in initiative."
Write to Top Thanks very much for your reply, Sir. Could you please tell me what is the tense in " he was never late". I can tell by the ed form that in "he was very motivated", the tense is simple past. So do we have to maintain V2 form of the verb throughout the sentence?
Dear Sir, thanks for your inclusive lessons. Can I rewrite the last example by introducing an anchor to make it parallel as such "The experiment was conducted on three separate groups, but the doctors only gave the drugs to two of them and a placebo to the third". Is it grammatically correct and parallel by the anchor gave?? please help me.
Hi Adam, thank you for the informative lesson. I am still confused with recognizing the anchor: 1) "He is good at playing baseball, basketball and analyzing a football match." Is my sentence considered correct if I use 2 anchors here: good at (playing and analyzing) and playing (baseball and basketball) 2) "Amy brushed her hair, freshened her lip gloss, and took deep breaths, trying to work up the courage to..." If I interpret Amy as the anchor, then "brushed, freshened and took" and "trying" are different verb form, then the sentence becomes wrong. Where did I get wrong? Thank you
Thank you, I understand now. Is this sentence parallel? 'Teachers serve as inspring role models for the students, living and embodying value they teach'

it's really complicated, but you have good examples. thax
The to has to go with both. I am in trouble with the comma. Not the text . It is beautiful ;classes don't use , they are ran/conducted. Nice.
You simply ace it sir.
Wow.. this was really very helpful sir.. once again thank you so much.
Hi Adam,

Hi Adam, thank you for your useful videos!
I have a question related to the use of the parallel structure with a list of infinitives:
You pointed out the example:
Jim likes to swim, to cycle, and to play soccer
However, I saw that “to” can be used only before the first verb in the sentence, for example:
Mary likes to hike, to swim, and to ride a bicycle.
Or,
Mary likes to hike, swim, and ride a bicycle.

Is it always necessary to repeat “to” or can it be dropped in some cases? Thanks for your help.

I have a doubt guys at 18:26 why he didn't use "to be reached" instead of to reach. Can anyone please help me out?
at 23:10, shouldn't it be "... and they gave a placebo to the third" to match with " ... only gave two of them the drug" ?
