Wow loved the video very helpful. I just bought a 2012 c250 c204 and has the exact screen but it arrived yesterday and the radio or anything on it has no sound. And also when in reverse the guide lines are on but no picture. Nothing is on mute lol. Very frustrating can't listen to music or see behind me in reverse please please help.

I realize this video is old and your stuck with NTG 4.0 since your car is older, but you have the square screen, I'm about to get the 12.3" From DMP Car Design, man I'm positive they make the best screen for the Benz with the best specs!! Hey man great video. Really helpful. My unit is working great as well now. Have figured out a lot of things. However every time I use the blinkers on my car, the screen goes blank. Once the blinker is off it goes back to normal. Have you faced a similar issue or is there a setting for this

Bought the old screen some months ago. Never got an update as was initially told, the screen is now according to Chris too old/weak to get an update. Low internal storage which doesn’t allow installation of more than 2 apps and updates via Google Play. And now 800 usd for the new one ? Pass..

I wonder whether or not you have tried to connect the screen to the DSP (Audison bit Ten D). I am currently having issue with the front left speaker has no sound whenever I switched the input from aux (android screen via rca) to main (car head unit). I have to turn off the car, open the door to switch off the sound system and start the car again to get the sound back on the front left speaker. Not really sure whether this is a DSP or android screen issue.

I know that you are doing the carplay dongle next. I have a question to ask. Got it working for android auto (current android version) and an iphone 7s (current ios version) perfectly. However, I tried to use it with an Iphone X and when using carplay, the voice (both ways) will not play through the car only when making a phone call, otherwise its perfect, including playing sound/music through the speaker and using siri. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I know you had the older version of this screen (as do I, bought it after seeing your video). Does this newer version use the same exact wiring? In other words, can I just swap the screen without having to take everything apart?

Hey Raymond, is there a possible way for a completely new factory reset for the whole display system? I don't mean "Settings -> General -> Reset All Settings/Erase All Content" This will only remove all Apps from my Device. I mean a FULL reset. I can't find any hidden Menues or Settings to do that. Thank you for sharing this. I cannot find an online manual for this anywhere. It isn't exactly intuitive (especially aux column/row.). Do you have a manual for this? I like manuals. I'm weird that way. My career is basically RTFM where others don't.
From what I am aware of there is no PDF manual for this device. I do know that they are made in China as I have had words with the manufacturer when they originally rolled out now they're up to version 3. Unfortunately the only thing I can say is just using it repeatedly you'll start to find things about it. You could also try messaging flex Alexander and see if he can help you out on the new version
hey there Ray are these screens same for DMP Car Designs and the CKM?? Only difference I see is that one is based in the UK I think and the other in China and their prices are far apart by over $100

It took about a week and the price is on CKM website. Obviously I do my own install and so can you, that should save you alot of money

Hey man thnaks for the video and I hope you can help me with the probem I have now, I just install the version 41 yesterday and I played around with the Can Type and since then I can not see my factory Radio Dispaly on the screen, on the Can Type there are some car lists you can choose bot some how I can not find my car model there which is E300 W212. Do you have any idea how can I get the radio back? Thanks a lot
Hey Rayomond, quick question can you please take a look at the AC temperature display and the outside temperature display on your unit and tell me if it is accurate with what your car displays? The temperatures my car displays VS what’s on the android screen are off, see the picture. Are you having this issue? An it’s the same issue with the outside temp too.

Is there a way to move apps such as waze or pandora to the home screen? When I attempt it I get the message that there isn't any room on home screen despite removing all preinstalled apps on that screen....or at a minimum if I can click on apps and have all the ones I use frequently on the first page and move all the preloaded stuff to second / third page.
You can set up the default GPS so that way whenever you click on it l open up Waze or Google maps or whatever platform you want to use unfortunately there's no way to physically move an app onto the home screen you have to use the specified apps on the screen
What I wanna know is does the scroll whee work with that screen or is it souly touch screen only? I’d love to be able to flick though the menus with the scroll wheel...
Do you know how to fix Bluetooth sound coming from only the front left speaker ?and when on the radio, only the other three speakers work? Please help
Nice video ..I'm on the fence on this unit ..2 reasons ! First is the size of the unit . How distracting is this unit at night ? 2nd is , is the unit bug free ? I hate gremlins and lil annoyinces...
The size takes time to grow on you. Their are few Gremlins in the system, mostly liveable.... haven't come across one that made me rip it out of the car
I seen one of ure earlier videos today ..the one we're u showed how to change the steering wheel on u're car and in that video u said u removed the unit beacuse it was to big .. my question to u is . Was that unit bigger then the one u have now ? That's my fear that it just to large in size and sticks out a bit too much...the size woudnt b that bad if the unit didn't stick out as much .. thanks and I'm becoming a fan of u're videos! The new benefits out weight the size. Even though I do wish it was smaller maybe a 8" would have been perfect
I totally agree and I haven't even seen it personally...just going by all the videos I've seen ..Ive been looking at the unichip as well .. but I agree the options are a major plus.. probably if the unit was a lil more intergrated in the dash it would look more OEM ...but ill probably still just get it

Download image to a micro sd card and go put in the screen. Go into settings/ advance/ boot logo

@@samln5019 you have to download custom ones online they need to be a certain size and time length. There is a forum online, I don't remember where...it's been a long time

Hello Raymond! First off I appreciate everything you do for us and all the help you’ve given. I had a quick question, I am able to connect my Bluetooth through the screen but when I try to play it on the cars speakers it won’t go through. Only the default radio works. Any help?
You have to make sure you plug in the screen to AUX with an AUX plug. Then go to your original screen and switch it to AUX
My command system is broken for my s550 2008 what are the best option to do without replacing the command?

Hey Raymond, at time stamp 13:29 where you show how to access "wallpapers" by "swiping" up? You don't swipe up, you press and hold on a blank area of the home page to bring up the wallpapers. Just like how its done on an Android phone. FYI...
Will this screen play DVDs from the disk unit? Does the screen pair with my android phone so I can select music with the steering wheel controller?

@@RaymondUrias ok thank you. I bought a used 2nd version without cables so i reused the 1st version cables. Everything works except the oem command doesnt show up. Its just black. But if i put the 1st version screen then i can see the oem screen. I copied your setting for screen resolution set to 2. So the cables must differ as you recalled. I have the same pre face-lift W204.

@@RaymondUrias i remember i had to use A on the screen 1 so my control knob would work. And it does work still on screen 2 so i figure i hsve it right. But i sonce lost B so im out SOL on testing it.
Hi Raymond, I have similar screen for my S550, I installed and all functions work except no sound when play music/video/Bluetooth music from screen. Could you give me suggestion where to look for. All cables made good connection even the fiber optic cables (Remove from OEM put on screen adapt cable) look forward your help. Mike from Tampa

Back to my issue, I opened all the dash and glovebox, got access to the OEM cable but could not find any connector that can be mated with AUX cables that came with screen. I need help with my Android Interface. When I use my turn signal, the screen goes to a map and once the turn signal is canceled, it goes back to the previous screen. Is there a way to turn this off so it stays on the screen it was on and not switch?
I had a similar issue on mine. If you navigate to function selection option and as shown in video at 6:29 right below 'Reverse mode selection' you should have a checkbox, for Raymond it says 'Turn to start AVM' if you have this selected, unselect it and that should stop it. On mine it says 'Turn to activate 360 camera' so I needed to turn that off. Your version perhaps might have slightly different wording but should still be a check box that you need to uncheck. Hope it helps it was driving me crazy
Have a black screen no matter what original screen resolution I select for NTG mode. According to install instructions I should be using 3 because I own a 2010 w204, but maybe 2. The audio shop that installed made sure in the CAN screen to get the KF lettering in for A/B connectors after trying different configurations.

@@albasremix nope, had to have the product replaced and sending back to the first one. I think something's wrong with the wiring harness. Going to try and have the new one put in in the next month.
I have been searching high and low. Do you have a method for changing the screen brightness? I have tons of glare from my interior and it’s difficult to see.

For better performance and ease-of-use it's best to plug the screen into your auxiliary plug
When it’s hot outside and I turn on the car, the sound is low and fuzzy until the screen cools down. And suggestions on that? Also is there a setting I can go to manually change the boot animation?

Raymond, i’m having an issue. The unit overrides front left speaker for waze/maps audio guidance, and then it turns it back on. Somehow it got stuck in this mode, and i get no audio from front left speaker when i play via command. I’m having no issue when it plays from the screen via aux. Have ane clue on how to fix this/turn off ?
Sounds like one of 2 things your AB/A wire is incorrectly configured or your aux plug is not fully seated. Make sure aux is plugged in all the way
It worked fine for 1 week. Then i tryied to connect via bluetooth adapter, to test audio quality, but was unsuccsesfull....

Raymond Urias fixed it. I added 2 new functions via the secret menu, car radio and radio, after i removed them it came back to normal!
I tryed connecting the unit via bluetooth, but cant seem to find any option to make the connection. I want to check the quality via BT, but other than selecting connection type, i can’t get to any connection settings.

I just had my local Car Audio store install my unit. I've been here 4 hrs and now they say they can't get the sound to work. Do you have any info that might help? I think the Audio cord provided in the box is not correct. It's female on one end and a rectangular fitting on the other end. My old head unit was b&w. I think this cord is supposed to be for a color screen. If this is the case are there any adaptors? Please help

Johny when I ordered the unit they asked me for all the info on my Car as well as photos of the existing stereo. They sent the unit which took over a month to receive. It took it to have it installed. They charged me 4 hrs labor and could not get the sound to work. I contacted the MFG via email for 2 weeks. They told me they sent the wrong wiring harness and told me to ship it back at my expense. ($37.00)
1 month and 2 weeks later I get the New Unit. I went on line and watched a video. I bought the 2 tools for installation and in. Less than an hour I had it installed. I've never installed a radio which goes to show I was ripped off by my local Stereo shop. When I did the install myself the sound would not work. I viewed another video and it recommended making sure you press the main wiring harness until you hear it snap. I pulled the unit back out and pressed real hard, it snapped which fixed the problem. It has worked perfect ever since.
Hi Ray, I'm writing you because I have a small problem with my screen and producent cant explain me why or what is wrong done. I try my best to explain that. Engine on, Android screen working, I'm using blinker to turn left ( or right ) and in that moment screen switching to ORI Mercedes screen. Blinker stop works and Android screen come back. I have a movie, I will try to send you. Maybe you can explain me what is wrong, thanks

i bought the 10.25 inch for my 2008 w204 with the old nav with the non motorized flipping screen,and installed it
i still have a problem with the aux volume level,i changed the level of the aux 1 and aux 2 from settings but it has no effect on the sound level, specially with the carplay dongle the music volume is very low, can you help me with that ?
also fyi when i tested the screen before installing the rear view camera the aux level was good and satisfying, but now its not, do you think this is a power issue?
Go into settings and volume and try making the adjustment there. My only guess is a setting was changed. Also did you restart the unit after making the aux change?

Hi Ray: Thank you again for the ground isolation plug, it worked perfectly. One more question. I followed you steps and got the aux to turn on when activated however there seems to be a 25 second lag before it starts working which is tricky when answering a phone call with Apple play, Any way to speed up the response time?
This is the first that I have heard of this. I found that pairing the phone to the cars phone worked best.

Great videos and love the screen but have a Question, I am getting a humming/feedback noise when its in apple play, how do you adjust the aux volume to remove?
Humming is caused by a ground fault. I would recommend using a ground isolation plug

Switch over the cables for antennas in back .... you have them crossed .... the gps and the 4g ..
How often do you use your factory radio now? The actual hardware? I'm wondering if it could be replaced by sometime else and put the radio Hardware somewhere else like the trunk or ?
I honestly don't use it..... unless I have to mess around with the engineer menu
Raymond Urias I figured as much. I think it can be removed and another screen in it's place (I have a face lift C63) so additional information and device's can be installed.
Yes this will fit your car. I can't really relocate the unit since I have 2 amps and a sub in the trunk....and now I'm floating the idea of air suspension so my trunk will be full.lol
The factory radio is really huge! So relocation will be tough. Not to mention moving the fiber optic wires will hard.

Yo Raymond! Off topic from this video but do you know what type of antenna cables are in the W204? I trying to vinyl wrap my roof and was able to get the shark fin antenna off but there’s 2 wires attached to the circuit board underside. I can only follow the wires so far back under the headliner and don’t really wanna pull the headliner down unless there’s an easy way. Wasn’t sure if the wires are copper or fiber, hoping for copper so I can cut and splice them back after I’m done. I sliced a little off the wire shell off but only see twisted shielding. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
It's very thin copper wire. I recommend removing the headliner and unplugging it.
Raymond Urias can you do a video on how to remove the headliner or provide advice? I assume you only need to access the back part of the headliner on the passenger side but couldn’t figure out how to pull that down without breaking something or a major crease. Searched online to no avail. TIA

Does it have a built in AMG boot up logo like the gen 1 were you enable it in the hidden menu?
Yes there is an option for the AMG boot logo it's in yet another secret menu that I did not show for one reason:

If I have the first upgraded screen and want to upgrade to the 2.0 one does it require all new harnesses or is it just a simple screen swap? Thanks for any info

Love it! And I got some laughs, to boot! I don’t have that screen and I have wanted to switch to imperial from day 1. (US mph, F). I’m guessing I am missing an update but don’t know how to get it. My unit was in the car when I bought it from the MB dealer (installed by the original owner) and I don’t know where it cam from. I’ve asked Chris the same question, but since I didn’t buy it from him, I got no update info. I’m kind of stuck! Any suggestions or direction? SOS! Always love your vids. Doug. (For me to make any changes, I have to go to “factory pattern” and punch in 111111 to get to a very confusing menu of options.)

George Medina go you know how to tell? Navigating the secret menus is confusing. I don’t know if there is a way to determine if there are software updates or the version. Any help is appreciated.
@@dhuber5681 Im not 💯percent sure but what I read is that the earlier model had Celsius instead of farenheint and some other lil annoyinces.. does ure system have temp in celcius?. If it does then u have the previous version with no updates available for it

i saw your setting in the secret menu for the radio. did you didnt use the radio app? i cant get the radio app working with the factory tile version. All other audio settings are working well. could you give me pls any hint for the settings?

you can activate the radio app in the "menu icons". test it!
Question. Would the unit act as a music source similar to the aux input? Can I generate sound from simply connecting via Bluetooth or do I have to connect the unit to the cars aux input in order for sound to work?
The unit can connect to the cars Bluetooth just follow the instructions. But if my memory serves me right you will not be able to to Bluetooth connect your phone to the screen
Do you have an issue with your time on the screen keeps resetting? When i turn off my car, then turn it back on, the time is incorrect. Do you know how to fix this?
I never had this issue and it has never been reported to me. But I have been getting a lot of people buying knock off units on eBay and Alie and they are having nothing but problems. One guy was lucky to get a refund

I fix mine (same problem) by going in the setting and changing the time zone. I hope it works for you

I have the 10.25 installed on my cla mercedes
But everytime i start the car and the screen starts up the time is incorrect.
When i go to browser it says time is incorrect and i can go to a menu to set the time correct. But when is start the screen a few hours later the time is again incorrect. Do you know how to fix this issue?

Dont manually set up the time. Have the setting on GPS and the time will automatically change to what it should be :)

Hey, I have a Bluetooth adapter connected to my aux, how can I connect my android screen to the adapter instead of hard wring using 3.5mm?
Wire it for a much better sound. You can use the android as your Bluetooth adaptor.
You are giant, the trick with the column 2, and the 5th row illuminated me. Now I have sound without starting the Chinese song first :). Fyi Urias means giant in romanian :)
