    Lil piece of advice to viewers don't throw away your chewed up corkies make a collection so when you show off your addiction your also showing off colors that worked and stories and memories that goes with that bait

    very good video! i learned a lot. i am an avid fisherman and wader, kayaker, and i have only caught two fish on a corky. however i am trying to build my confidence with them this year.

      It only takes one good fish to gain that confidence. Good luck and thank you!

    Awesome video I love watching you and Capt. Caleb. I know you spoke about hooks and storage, but I’m wondering what about the split rings. What kind size and weight are they and where can I get a hold of some. Thank you for your help and keep the awesome videos coming

    I am getting into Corkies and was wondering what your setup is when you fish the fat boys?

    • @TexasFishingForce
      @TexasFishingForce  2 года назад +1

      I use a Laguna Lt tX wader II rod, Shimano Tranx 150 or curado dc 150, 30lb braid, 40lb fluoro carbon leader with a loop knot.

    Thanks for the tips man. I myself am fairly new to corky fishing. I've had a good amount of experience with regular softplatics like pattletails and hard bodied lures but never really had luck with corkys in the past. Your tips will definitely help me and hopefully others new or even the veterans of fishing. Good luck next time you're out on the water man.

    The blow pop corky from costal marsh has been straight on fire this year in the lower Laguna

      I’ve heard that. Haven’t used it yet, hard for me to buy that when so many other corkies use the same color. I use starburst which is close and have a lot of success on that.

    What size are single hooks, I am going to try that next week?

    • @TexasFishingForce
      @TexasFishingForce  3 года назад +3

      I use size 2, weight is a little different but I’ve learned the difference between my treble corkies and my inline. Both have there specific uses.

    • @scottbattle4198
      @scottbattle4198 Год назад

      I'm going to take my treble hooks off my fat boy and weight to make sure I have the right weight going back on. I only use single inlines on my mr17s and I really think it makes a difference.

  • @gervaisadams7

    Great video. Precise and to the point. I want to use Corky's more. As far as the inline hooks...are those better when fishing grass as oppose to treble hooks?

    • @TexasFishingForce
      @TexasFishingForce  3 года назад +1

      I do like those in grass flats way more than trebles. Just less snagging.

    Good video. Do you have a particular reel gear ratio that is preferred for Fat Boy or originals retrieves? I use mostly 7.2 or higher but it may speed the retrieve between twitch sessions especially if a trout is shadowing it.

    • @TexasFishingForce
      @TexasFishingForce  3 года назад +1

      I use shimano DC’s that come in 6.2, 7.4 and 8.5. I only use the 7.4 and 8.5. For corkies, I do prefer the 8.5 but I think it’s personally how I’ve adjusted my way of fishing.

    • @johnkarges8829
      @johnkarges8829 3 года назад

      Good deal and stands to reason. As has been argued, you can slow a retrieve but you can’t speed one up if you don’t have the gears to get there, just like my truck.

      I use the LT TX wader II from Laguna. I do like a medium fast for corkies in most cases. I find ML fast works ok too but I definitely prefer something a little stiffer.
