Also, I took a photography class many years ago and she held the class in her home. She said something that always stuck with me. She said her decorating style was “things I like.” She said you create your own style because it is a blend of all the things that reflect what you find beautiful.

I love that! My room is very eclectic and yet, I love how all of the elements come together to represent who I am and what I love. Each person has a unique style that reflects who they are. Styles can be similar when people share common interests and are inspired by similar things, but each will vary in their own way. 🩷
That's what I say my style is too! And somehow everything just works together :D
Morgan do not say your style is not “trendy” because I absolutely adore it! It is timeless, cozy , and beautiful. Not only that but it pays respect to staying environmentally friendly and anti-consumerist. An inspiration to us all, especially in my own creation of my unique, cozy little home!

I thought so, too. That seems like a lot of fun money. As someone who is financially secure, I don't think I've ever spent that kind of fun money. When my husband and I get dinner out once a week, the total bill is 30 dollars.

100 dollars a week seems like a giant allowance from Central European perspective. I would say my budget is more like 100 dollars a month.
I live in California and I felt that way too!
You set the same amount that I did. I try to spend less so it will carry over. I used to carry debt and I hated it. I worked hard to pay off everything but my house and car. I now don’t just swipe a credit card. I pull cash out of the ATM every week and this way I see exactly what I have left in my wallet and what day of the week it is. It makes me think do I really need this or do I need so many of them. It’s been wonderful and freeing not to worry about credit card payments. And also my house feels better because I have less clutter.

Yes, Morgan aka "Mo", Women should have enough $$ to feel free to leave, but choose to stay out of WANTING to, NOT NEEDING to, because they have to. And I say 1 yr emergency fund, if you can swing it. (Think Quarantine.) Today, as women live longer than their partner or spouse, it is important to plan for the "Rainy Day" 🌧 fiscally speaking.

So timely for me Morgan. It was beautiful to take a break from a difficult day emotionally...after what was a pretty great week. You live in your home so YOU should have it look and feel the way YOU want, not what's trendy. If you like something trendy and want to add it to your home, go for it! If you don't like it, no pressure. Your home is your sanctuary and the best part of it is getting to decide how it will make you feel. I understand the struggle though. I typically like spooky things and have a lot of spooky things in my home, but I have so many interests so I've incorporated those too. It's pretty eclectic lol. I've recently been trying a few new things like decorating with more candles and books and flowers and part of me felt guilty for not "sticking" to my spooky aesthetic, but then I thought, who is judging me for this? No one! So do what you want! And I'm really enjoying the new little touches here and there. Thanks for always being an inspiration. I'm SO excited to try that cookie recipe! They look so yummy! I'm catching up on your channel a few weeks late, but this is such a lovely video! I LOVE that you're talking about finances in a realistic way that resonates with most of us, aren't dropping tons of $$$ on new spring clothes and decor, and have a house that looks cozy and like real, delightful people happily live there (not like it was immaculately curated by/for an algorith). All of those things make me feel less insecure about my own non-curated life and home, and I so appreciate it.
Here's a tip for buttercream or any frosting : add a very small amount of table salt. It actually rounds out the flavor and helps make very sweet frosting taste not so sweet. Another tip: never use salted butter for anything. Usually salted butter is old butter and they add salt so they can mask any flavor of it not being as fresh.
With two candles, you could make one your daytime candle and the other your evening candle. Or a work candle and a leisure time candle. ... Or just enjoy whichever you're in the mood for most 😊
I really love this idea! The strawberry musk candle is a good sunset/evening candle and the Jasmine Ylang Ylang candle is a bright happy morning candle

Such a great spring reset! 🌸 Yes to prioritizing our goals in our budget and building up an emergency fund! 👏 Also, I love to keep freeze-dried fruit around for adding to scones and muffins. It helps reduce the moisture when baking and then I always have fruit around for spontaneous scone baking!

These cookies look delicious! I put freeze dried raspberries on my shopping list! Good job on taking control of your finances that is so important in your late 20s early 30s because if you invest in a retirement plan you will really have the years it takes to let it compound and grow for you. I’ve been watching a lot of RUclips money people and read a few books from the library and now I feel a lot more confident. I recommend Vivian Tu’s book Rich AF it had a lot of easy to digest information written for millennials. Spring is right around the corner and it’s the perfect time for a fresh start all around!

Morgan!! I don’t know if you’ll see this but my family is traveling to the Pacific Northwest this summer and was wondering if you had any good recommendations for Oregon, specifically Portland! My mom and I love watching your videos together 🩵🩵🩵🩵
That’s so exciting! Are you flying or driving? There are so many wonderful things to do! If you have a car, I recommend visiting the town of Hood River- it’s SO CUTE. It has a bookstore, a bunch of boutiques and yummy restaurants and you’ll pass many beautiful waterfalls on the drive there.
Aurora is another cute town to visit- it’s a town of antique stores!! It’s the perfect mother-daughter place to spend a day.
Locally in Portland, I recommend breakfast at Harlow or Dragonfly cafe (both on or near NW 23rd St.). Then, exploring the shops up and down NW 23rd. Followed by popping over to Powell’s (of course)!
There are so many beautiful forests to explore with friendly walking-paths. Forest Park is the most famous but it’s MASSIVE and many people flock to the most popular trails. Tryon Creek State Park is just as beautiful but less touristy. Mt Tabor Park is a great place to see the sunset.
I recommend staying away from the waterfront parks along the river that goes through Portland. Mainly for staying in Airbnb’s or hotels. Everywhere’s safe! And it can be great to visit the waterfront during the day, But I definitely feel more comfortable past 6th Ave on either side of the river.

Target is the devil, Morgan 😅 I love that place, but it is IMPOSSIBLE not come out with something. Also I envy being able to throw open all the windows.. it’s very dusty here in Phoenix area. I open my back sliding door and if i walk barefoot, my feet turn BLACK and mind you, I mop at least 2x a week.

Another wondrous video, really enjoyed watching it. I've found giving my savings a purpose having specific savings goals stops me dipping into those (electronic) pots. Long-term ones are hidden away. No reason why saving can't be fun and give us something to look forward to. My birthday is in March so it's my favourite, although this Autumn girl is looking forward to the freshness of Spring and the warmth of summer. Time to emerge from hibernation and the blankets. 💕

Morgan, I enjoyed your video today, and since I hadn't heard of the movie Fairy Tale I looked it up on Amazon Prime. It is free for us here in the UK, so I have just finished watching it now. Wasn't it delightful? I believe there has always been speculation as to whether those photos were real, and it was very well done in the movie. I come from North Yorkshire, which is where this story comes from and was filmed, so I am very familiar with the scenery.

Morgan, I adore your style so much and we have much the same style and taste. I was never allowed to be authentic to myself growing up in my childhood home and it has become a struggle to love the things I love because of my childhood. It's something I'm trying so desperately to embrace because I am a mother for 4 children and the youngest of them is my daughter. I want her and my sons to learn to love who they authentically are and feel free to be themselves regardless of what anyone should think. ❤
I just wanted to add: I lived in Oregon for a short time. Beaverton, specifically. I absolutely loved living there but due to circumstances out of my hands, I had to move back to my home state. Every time I watch one of your videos, I always feel like I'm visiting. And today, I actually cried at the end because I left Oregon around this time of year and it just reminded me of flying back home and hating so much that I had to leave. 😣 I don't know how far it would be for you and Landon but when you can take a visit to Tualatin Hills Nature Park. It was my favorite place to go in the short four months I lived there.

I considered it as part of the grocery budget! We needed butter in general and always buy lemons. The freeze dried raspberries were the only random thing
That 5-6 months of savings is an emergency fund. Everyone should have one.
