    Mirror Image grants a flat AC bonus, and I don’t believe it gives anyone disadvantage.

    Friends can backfire!
    I was mostly through act one, having cleared out the goblin camp in my honor mode run.
    I was then at the celebration at my camp afterwords. I went around and talked to all of the tieflings at camp. There was the one tiefling you can convince to have fun with a DC5 check. Out of habit I clicked on 'friends' to give myself advantage.
    60 seconds later, when the friends spell ended that tiefling, along with EVERY OTHER TIEFLING in camp attacked me. Halsin decided to join in for good measure.
    That was my honor mode TPK

    Just a heads up, yes HM is a BAD place to use Friends (and also mind reading). Disguises also don't tend to stop the agro. I lost Wyll and half the Tieflings because I used that, and again on another attempt when I tried to read someone's mind. Don't use them on HM unless you want the repercussions to be extra spicy and the retribution to ignore mitigation like disguises. The guards remember and if you're very lucky all it does is mean you have to bribe every single guard in the area back to the yellow portion of the reputation bar. It gets expensive and while funny, burns resources you need for actual quests/planned fights. Worst case scenario you'll have half an army chasing you from one end of the map to the other and requiring extra distance to flee the fight.

    High ground rules give you a +2 on your attack roll if you’re higher, and a -2 if you are lower. I don’t think it gives you advantage.

    • @Superdonko
      @Superdonko 5 месяцев назад +1

      I’m pretty sure you’re getting advantage from another source. Base percentage for that roll with expected stats and level should be 80% with advantage. High ground rules bumps this to 88% since you’re attacking from above.

      @@Firespark81In that clip you have advantage due to Faerie Fire being applied, Height is a flat +2 bonus. You can tell due to the little icon next to the green buff, a "+" by High Ground and Weapon Enhancement, and the two dice next to Faerie Fire.

    I don't even think the die work properly. I ran into Ethel, arguing with the brothers, passed the insight check, but had to reload. Ever since then, I've reloaded over 10 times, and the insight check has failed every time. EVERY TIME. I know it can be won, yet it feels like the game is just auto failing me.

    I've found that using a Trainer that makes my party immortal, boosts all their stats to 100 and gives them one-hit kills on everything makes Honor Mode slightly easier.

      You can also use one of the NPC's like Wyll who has a high Charisma as your party face with social skill proficiencies.

    • @hmvollbanane1259

      You are given Wyll as a high charisma companion (just have him selected when you initiate dialog) as long as you don't stray from the evil path and side with those racist devilspawns.
      If you take the good route and side with the polite goblins (at least that was my experience as a drow) then he will abandon you, though most classes can still get by without high charisma.
      E.g. barbarians get advantage on all their intimidation roles, if you get the hag's eye in act one you should roll with advantage and +3 or higher on every intimidation check (and barbarians get a lot of them).
      In general there are many class specific conversation options that roll on your chars primary or secondary stat instead of charisma or give you advantages on following charisma throws (e.g. monks often get wisdom insight throws that lets them guess the others intention which makes the charisma checks become easier or even have advantage)

    • @hmvollbanane1259
      @hmvollbanane1259 5 месяцев назад +1

      So you can get by without playing a high charisma character. The base level conversations should all be doable with anyone, however you simply won't get the peak benefits of a high charisma build.
      Spoiler:
      The power of charisma chars goes beyond "being good at conversations" as those can be cleared as described above by pretty much every build or circumvented by a little investigating into the surrounding, where their power really comes through is in completely manipulating enemies. E.g. on my drow warlock I managed to get through all of those mini bosses in act two prior two the last battle by simply convincing them to kill themselves.
      So as a fighter or thief you probably won't be able to convince bosses to literally just die without a fight, but other than that you shouldn't really experience that much of a disadvantage.
