@@Dr.J42they're in the same boat. Max air stream in gen 8. Flying tera blast in gen 9.
Same goes for Dragonite and basically any non bird flying physical mon cuz no brave bird

I caught a shiny Magikarp EV training Speed back in Diamond version like a week before Heart Gold/Soul Silver was announced. I was a little ticked knowing that the awesome shiny Gyarados I got just became the most common shiny.
I got stupidly lucky in the first 10 mins of playing scarlet
On cartridge you can also check if Gyarados was bounce with the cherish ball being thrown at the start of battle. Ofc you can’t see this on PS.
Maybe PS should add a ball indicayor for specitic situations like this lol

And even if on cartridge you saw a shiny with the Cherish Ball, who’s to say they didn’t ever replace Bounce
If I remember correctly Greninja WOULDN’T want to be shiny bc Shiny ones can’t have Battle Bond so it was optimal for your Greninja to be normal so your opponent doesn’t know if you have Protean or Battle Bond
Greninja had to be non shiny AND male for that gambit
That shiny magikarp wasn't the only instance of it having bounce since it was also obtainable on hgss with the pokewalker
You weren't able to transfer moves from past gens in VGC so this was the only one you were allowed to use in tours
But Bounce was also available as a Move Tutor move on Heahea Beach in USUM? Unless this was only in SM.

@@MoxieBoostedwhat does this mean? like movesets have to be obtainable in some form within the current gen's available games at the time? so bounce gyarados from pokewalker wouldn't work since it was from a previous gen (do they auto block it?) but shiny event magikarp would bc it was from a gen 7 event (and this was for a SM tournament)

Best part about getting them to protect turn was was Z splash, boosted you attack by a ton. So you just bait them into thinking you have bounce and z splash then ice fang them.
Why is bounce a two turn charge move? It needs two tirns to charge and can paralyze but its inaccurate. It should be a flying type body slam
But you can't be damaged after recharge. It's just a more inaccurate fly with paralyz chance

@@if7723 Rock slide can't damage pokemon in air. If you meant smack down then yes. Bounce and fly are the same in that regard

I don’t get it, Gyrados has gotten bounce ever since it was introduced I gen 4, so why is the shiny variant any different than the regular one?
It didn't get it gen 7 without an event. You can't use old gen mons in gen 7 VGC

I always picture gyarados swimming thru the air rather than flying, and thats the reason is doesnt really get flying moves. Hence fkn kabuto can learn aerial ace and our boy cant..

Couldn’t you just get a gyarados with bounce from gen 4 though move tutor
For gens 6&7 VGC you can only use Pokémon raised in those respective generations. Another example would be that you can’t use a Kangaskhan from gen 6 in gen 7 VGC, meaning you wouldn’t have access to power up punch mega Kang.

The hell are you talking about? You could get a Magikarp with Bounce back in HeartGold/SoulSilver through the PokeWalker. All it'd take is transferring up through the gens.

Nope! It can learn bounce via TM in some gens but in sun&moon that wasn’t the case..magikarps couldn’t learn bounce in that game so it was locked to that shiny magikarp

Unfortunately event Pokémon don’t matter in VGC as a majority of the entire scene openly supports cheating and genning of pokemon. Another unfortunate thing is that out of all the content creators in pokemon, only two call out the cheating, unfortunately you’re not one of them. It’s sad that most of Pokemon VGC’s history consists of cheaters winning and taking prize money from players who actually put the effort to make their own pokemon.
Maybe there wouldn't have been so much cheating if they made it easier to build pokemon, this is especially true for older generations
@@Gich101 still no excuse for cheating. Also if you’ve ever made a team the legit way you would know it’s not hard at all, it’s only hard for people who are lazy and don’t actually like the game of Pokémon.
