YAY! Sticking with the OG C series was a great choice. Can't wait to see the videos to come.
Big cams and throttle body and new computer is the most popular here in Japan.
Excited to see the build process myself!
I figured you would be going with the C-Series. I agree it is the right move, especially for your use case of the vehicle (road trip and lots of track use). Having that OEM/OEM+ reliability is a fantastic thing when you do lots of track stuff. I have put 75k hard miles on my 2016 Mustang, with years of Hpde/Autocross use and the powertrain being close to stock is probably the reason why it has been so reliable. Looking forward to some new track content this season.
Can't wait to get back out there!
Get that JDM 5speed!
the only right decision! Thumbs up!
As far as your decision....Chef's Kiss!!!!
I think you made the right decision. I know I am 4 months late to this party. Just retured from the USAF, so YT took a back door while we koved to Braselton. Had I been in your shoes, I would have contemplated the J-series, but ultimately gone with the C-series rebuild.
For me, this was the right decision Richard!
👍cheers
The Choice it should have been!
You have chosen wisely.
I enjoyed the rabbit hole of engine ideas. Having replaced an engine in a track car (different platform) I have done the same. Interested to see the C30 build. Not that my opinion matters but I like the direction, any comments I make are just to further your investigation down the rabbit hole and yes you may have thought of them. Prayers for a quick rebuild and flowing supply chains.
Thanks for the encouragement! Looking forward to getting the car back for sure.
I respect this decision. I'm going to build my C one day, but where I'm at in my life it made more sense to pull it out and go with the J series. My pockets aren't deep enough to handle the C being blown up, on top of two babies and new expenses. I've been throwing boost at the car for a while now. Will be nice to have something lighter/smaller with more torque and displacement, and will be nice to able to lego it together in the future with 35,37 bits. The C is the best engine out of the three. I wish money was no object, I would just build one right now.
Definitely a different story I think if I planned on going for big boost/hp.
The right decision for the right reasons, imo
A very reasonable decision based on the points you've made. Excited to see what comes!
Sweet! Excited to see it running again. It’s going to be nice.
Definitely!
Loved the intro. Genuinely chuckled. Sharing parts wasn't something I thought about, but makes a lot of sense. I'm curious to see if the motor feels any different with a fresh rebuild compared to how it felt before, or compared to Liz's car.
The comparison video is basically inevitable, lol
A wise choice indeed.
Finally! I have an answer and can get back to my life and drop my therapy sessions :) Just kidding. Sound decision and this will be great to watch. Cheers!
🤣🤣🤣 we appreciate your emotional investment! More coming soon on details.
