- We've been dealing with the windshield wipers "taking a walk" at higher speeds on road and track since we've owned our now over 300k mile NSX. Mercifully I haven't done that many fully-wet events, but it was none the less time to deal with this issue of high speed wiper lift

I'm with you Richard. Wipers are the way to go! Crashing because you can't see (because you removed the wipers) is a stupid reason to crash.
This made a lot of sense. I always rely on the hydrophobic protectants but I should probably invest in good wipers too.
Not a stupid video by any means so thanks. Never had the problem with OEM parts however the car only occasionally gets caught in the rain.
For what it's worth, when I used to manage a quick lube shop, we didn't stock "wiper refills" either. What we would do is simply take a "frame style" wiper blade of 1 inch too long and pull the rubber/stiffener out of it and snip off the inch on the end that had the groove in it to hold it in place on the old frame.
I like the look of the oem wiper spoiler it’s very 90’s Honda IMO. I know on most cars I’ve owned when I take the wipers off there is faint lines on the glass where you’re supposed to line the wipers up. Though I can’t remember for the life of me if my NSX has them or not!
I don't know if I would know about the alignment marks as I suspect the windshield had been replaced once prior to my ownership. That glass and the current glass don't have any marks though.
if you ever get the chance to drive Daytona, the only part of the windshield you'll be using, is the top left corner, currently covered with stickers. i wish i had my nsx when i drove Daytona.

This isn't just an NSX issue. My 8th gen Si daily has the issues as well and PIAA used to be a good solution as they had a sports wiper that had a wing on it and they worked great. Now they have moved to the aero/flex model like everyone else and they don't work that great at higher speeds. I wonder if the NSX blad would fit on the civic....
Liz's car came with some PIAA aero frames, not installed, just in the spares pile. Might've worked but also didn't want to pilfer and wasn't sure if they were really equal to the OE version not having the latter in hand at the time.
All the tuner cars in cali dont even run Wipers. I think it looks much cleaner without. I just throw the wiper in the trunk and install it with a 17mm wrench if need be. But i think I've only needed to install it once.
Yeah, not so much in the Southeast or PNW for that matter. I've driven through enough proper "toad stranglers" (local terminology)to appreciate fully functional wipers.

@@SleeperHonda Yeah, much as I'd love to just roll with a coating for aesthetics, it's a bad plan with as much inter-region driving as we do.
@@LapoftheWorld Imagine living in a place where you could drive year round, not need a spring/fall tire, and you could take your wipers off. Car stuff makes me want to move out of the midwest more than anything else.
@@JacobMueller I get away with no winter tires at least in Tennessee. Not worth it for the like 3-4 total weeks of actual winter conditions. No chance of doing without wipers or just washing it a couple of times per season.
Pointless post but here in CA, I removed my wiper blades off the car when I got in 2008. Car just looks way better without them.
2008 was a good year for NSX acquisition. Bought mine that fall and drove it home from NY to TN. I was probably lucky the wipers still worked given the state of the rest of the car. Drove through a monsoon between Jersey and Pennsylvania, lol.
