I am just starting to study this tune and it seems to be one of the more 'loose' melodies. A great tune for us beginers at subsistutions, haromic embellishment and improv of course! I've always heard that we guitarist should study horn players for the best long lines and now I finally see why with this tune. This is great. Viva La Django!

@donnythejazz Re a Solal influence in the pianist: I could hear some possible early Solal in his playing, the way Solal sounded in the early 60's - not his more avant garde approach of these days. I agree, he's a fine pianist.

Great Hamilton. Piano player is excellent but didn't hear any Solal influence. Much less iconoclastic than Solal.

without trying to be insulting, I am not actually a huge fan of this piano player. in my honest opinion he's too busy behind the melody and i don't really like his attack, but that's just me. just too jarring and boxed in, rhythmically. Just my opinion, though. no need to attack me for being a bad musician or whatever.

he's the last one of the basic-jazzsaxplayers....it's time for new talents, but there's not much interest in i'm affraid...
