- Well, this is a new song and band that I have never heard. Paramore in their song "This is Why". I found Paramore very likable. They kind of reminded me of the B-52s. I cannot wait to hear more Paramore. I wonder if the lead singer was influenced by the B52s or just happened to just be that way. I will look further into Hayley Williams. Yes....I looked up her name.

This has been one of my favourite bands since a kid, say 11/12yo (I'm 27 now) ...Real quality musicianship and writing. Hayley is a force live too,
I reckon there's a grammy coming in this song. It's that good.
The singer is Hayley Williams and Paramore are awesome. Her voice is elite especially for a rock band. The note she hits saying “cannonball” is my favorite.
I totally agree with you about Hayley Williams, she is a powerhouse and she's just crackling with charisma on top of being an incredible musician!! i only recently got into Paramore myself and I came to it through her solo album Petals for Armor which was amazing
I'm an "old guy" also (heading towards 60), heard this tune on the radio and checked it out on video (as I often do). It's quite catchy. Video is a little strange. But yes that Hayley girl does make the perfect front person, live she holds the fort well and brings the visual. I thought the same, a bit like 70s retro. Laugh In material maybe, haha.

Paramore is an interesting band because of how much their sound has evolved into what it is today! It would be cool to see your reactions to their music from their earlier days and how you’d compare it to this one!

Hayley Williams is one of the best songwriters in rock. I think Paramore has gotten better with time.
FUN FACT! Since you mentioned about B52, Hayley has a hair dye company and named one of the red colors Rock Lobster inspired by B52's Rock Lobster
Also regarding the lipstick, my theory is that because she was in her solo album hair color (blond with brown peek-a-boo) which symbolizes her during the pandemic (in her house) and the era before this song - she was wearing the lipstick by smudging and overlining it on her whole face to get ready to "leave the house" and because of what entails in the outside world in the current moment. (This is a theme continuation in the next song after this one called The News)
It transitioned to her falling into her bandmates and long time childhood bestfriends like a trust fall meaning when she leaves the house and release the This Is Why album, she can trust on her bandmates to get through it all.
When she dances she's doing stuff reminiscent of the 60s Laugh In show snd 60s dacing.
Paramore have been my fav band since i've first heard they... it would be very nice to see you guys reacting to their new album, wich also is called 'This is Why'... they completely reinvented theirselfs musically and artisticaly in this album, after a long time out.. p.s: really loved the energy of the guy in the right, he's really enjoing to discover something new..

It wouldn't be far fetched to say that Hayley Williams was inspired by the b-52's. Every aspect of Paramore is fine wine as the saying goes.
