I’m going to hazard a guess, that most ppl here had a narcissistic mother, in the sense that she didn’t know where she ended and you began. You essentially didn’t exist as a person in her eyes, merely an extension of her own unrealised dreams & ambitions, so you grew up never really understanding who you are, what you like, what you don’t like etc
One thing that most people also tend to overlook is that people with North Node in the 4th House or IC placement is that they end up having very beautiful houses/homes. The Noth Node which is a signifier of the highest pinnacle finds expression in having/creating the the most "prestigious" or more aptly "high end" house/home/family. Phrases that describe this placement may include "Success of Home" or "He/She is successful because they are blessed with a stable home/background" or "Wordly Success = Homely Success" Secondly, people (myself included) with North Node in the 4th house/IC must always remember that their SOUTH NODE is in the 10th house. Now naturally, the North Node conjunct the MC/10th house would signify someone who follows their path in the "conventiona" way: i.e.They leave their home and find their way in the world and reach the top. North Node conjunct the 4th House/IC would happen a little differently. More often then not, they work on their family home well into their adult lives but they do it because their foundational framework must be sorted and strengthened and must reflect who they are even when they are successful. And this is where they might get frustrated. Because their impulse to ensure that where they come from must first be improved and/or strengthened before they can go create theirs own mark in the world (North Node) it often feels like it's that same impulse that holds them back or slows them down from achieving success.

Virgo north node in fourth here. I’m a professional astrologer and artist. I’ve been doing both for a living for about 20 years. This is a very good analysis of this placement! “Home” doesn’t necessarily mean the actual home. It could mean feeling home in your body. Cancer house is so much about feeling secure within. The home environment is an aspect of this. But analyzing the family roots, and learning to appreciate the gifts and lessons of your home life is key here. Not the fiasco I attempted with my ex husband. I struggle with believing I'll even have love again. I just have no idea how to find it. But until then, my art, my writing (I have Chiron in Pisces in the 3rd house, w/Neptune is transiting it now) I work hard to write. I"m always afraid of writing my true feelings. But I'm going to try NOT to worry about it. Hard as it will be to relax and not worry about what others think.

I've had similar experiences. My wife became ill after wanting a big family so I was left looking after our three young children with virtually no help whilst doing a day job (albeit working from home). It almost broke me trying to do everything for something like five years. Now I'm stuck looking after my mother who has Parkinson's because my sister won't/can't help and my father won't consider taking her back to her home country in Scandinavia where they have excellent residential geriatric care. Originally I stepped in during a crisis but it now looks like everyone wants me to bear the burden for the long haul. I too have had artistic aspirations and career goals, most of which have been stymied by demanding family and/or partners. My last relationship was with someone who did at least give me the space to pursue my goals but she was so financially demanding that became stressful. So your story really resonates. I too hate living in other people's places but often find myself there, usually in a caring or semi-caring role. Not wishing to sound sexist - and this is less significant in the modern age - but N.Node in 4th can be especially tricky for men because the 4th is a feminine house and people are less likely to sympathise, and there are still a few women - like my ex partner - who pile all the bread-winning 10th house responsibility onto your back to bear, which with N.Node in 4th is especially difficult. Another problem is that I'm so able at my job it creates loads of jealous enemies at work, and I've had to deal with heaps of politics during my life because of this placement, with people trying to undermine me despite my excellent results and bring me down whichever way possible. North Node in Aries, Sun, Saturn and Mars. I'm 52yrs, got married/ divorced and had 3 kids... my mother no matter what I did, only saw me through her expectations which I never "lived" up to. My kids are the same and is constantly putting me down. I gave my family my best, all in with everything I had; all my life I have been supportive of others; even sacrificially so... and NOW with the way I am regarded by these people I feel, freak them. I have had ENOUGH. I am tired of being treated like a joke or a dumping ground. I've finally gotten to the point that if I NEVER saw one member of my family again, it would be happy days! But one thing I did learn from all these people... I learned to think of myself and to hell with anybody else. To put my self first, and don't worry about how some other one feels. I'm learning to CARE for me. They were heartbreaking lessons but by God, I'll master it. And I will feel GOOD about myself and to hell what anybody else think. I agree with the parent thing. That has been my experience as well. Even though i'm an adult now and they respect my freedom, they still put their 2 cents in. And my experience growing up was having this "feeling" of being responsible for my family that I grew up with. And feeling responsible for my mom. Maybe in a past life, we neglected our family and was more focused on our career and achievements/success. So in this lifetime, we can still have that, but to remember to make room later in our lives for spending time with our family, whether that be the one we grew up with or our own family. Or both.
I currently have a 9-5 that exhausts me mentally but the bills have to be paid :( I want to have more time to learn healthy cooking, helping my son with his homework and keeping up the house... I am picking up my interests in astrology after retiring from teaching ( south node) which was not my idea, but rather, in my haze as a youth, what my father suggested because I once taught a neighbor how to read using our carport shed as a blackboard. I would say it’s more about letting go of working for the sake of work.. like say a 9 to 5 usually does, and focusing on building security in your financial and home life doing something that’s more meaningful. I know it’s easier said than done. However , as the years go by you will notice a need to not care about reaching a height of recognition/fame/extreme financial success but instead focus on the something your heart wants (what do you want? Regardless of the money you make or recognition) And if you have to have a simple job to support yourself on the side that’s fine as long as it doesn’t get in the way of your peace.

From experience i can say a 4th house north node will counterintuitively provide better materially for a person when they are striving to work from home in private than when they try to join the 10th house capitalist machine. I studied for and had a high-profile job which never paid as well as surprisingly low profile private enterprises. It doesnt mean you dont get to choose your field. It means bring the field home and also dont be surprised if money comes to you through uncommon avenues. Bezos ran Amazon at a loss for years till 2003. It was considered and absolutely insane thing at the time.
@nop e I don't think you understand the full scope of what a passive income might be. Fixing up a shithole house all nicely by hand and renting it out to tenants is passive income. I did that. There is good money in it too. Selling leads is also good passive income, and i get a lot of requests, especially for home and building related projects. I also get lead requests for artisans working from home themselves. I know a bunch of artists who sell their designs for printing on mass produced clothes lines. That's passive income. Also In the video it says nowhere that 4th house nn people should take familial abuse or overburdening. 4th house nn especially with mars will bring family abuse as it did in my case and the right thing is to escape it. I am no longer in contact with my violent abusive family. In turn, that means that while I yearn for a family of my own, the terms under which I would have one are very personal and non traditional. It is not about personal experience but yet it is all about personal experience because we can help others in our situations with new ideas.

Like i said before, Jeff Bezos also has a 4th house nn, and he started deliveribg stuff to people's homes and now he is the ears inside people's homes. Also he ran his business at a loss for 6-8 years. Different flavors. No, in my country it is mot different from yours. My home city is more expensive than Paris. Do what feels right for you and what makes you happy.
@nop e also maybe im wrong but i sense some stress in the way you write. 4th nn can also be about privacy and "behind the scenes". The only time i was very successful while working inside the system was running contracts between private suppliers and the army in my country. The contracts were very public but the inner workings were very not public, and when something went wrong my job was to fix silently. Just throwing out ideas for you. You can find success in any field but it might come much more easily if you find a good nn fit.
@nop e i dont know, recently i spoke to a friend who is a musician. Her nn is opposite, Leo 10th, and sn in 4th. She is very career focused but was working a lot in private, and she admitted there was some fear around being public. Yet everyone loved her large public performances. Her chart fully supports performing publicly, while she was trying to do a scott bradlee thing which is a very 4th nn type of career. They are both career oriented and very professional in my opinion. I think the nodes always bring some sort of fear or things we think we cant do.
I have this placement and I find it very true to my achievement. My home life is the most important thing in my life. All my life I dreamed of having my kids and being a mom and having a peaceful, happy home life and yes shaping my children's life and having my mother there with me is extremely important to me. What I find with myself in this placement is that when I was younger I was an extremely social butterfly, and now I am practically a recluse. The parent thing. wow especially with my mom. I do so much to make her proud, straight A’s throughout school, graduating college, staying out of trouble (drugs/sex). Yet still my mom would find a way to make me feel SO guilty. She once read all of my diaries and i felt so violated and i was punished for what i wrote even though she was in the wrong. In college she would still control my curfew and would make me feel like shit if i stayed out passed 11. Now its that she wants me to be with this man whos good on paper but i want to just go back to my ex who she hated but who makes me so happy. At 27 i find myself ashamed for wanting to go back to him because it will crush her if she finds out i dumped the one she likes. Like i know she will literally give me the silent treatment (her favorite). LIKE WTF!? I dont know how to get out of this stage of not wanting to upset her. Also i have uranus, neptune saturn, nn, all in capricorn which is the opposite house so I’m even more confused!
You need to do what YOU know is best for you and this will liberate you no matter how much it disappoints your mother. She loves you and eventually she will HAVE to accept your decisions and when she sees how happy you are and how well you can care for yourself she will eventually be happy for you too. I'm a Leo sun and a leo rising in the first house with a Virgo moon in the second house and my north node is in scorpio in the forth house. I was adopted and never felt at home anywhere. I recently got married I'm in my late forties and I am now a stay at home mom and sometimes it feels hard for me because I love to work and have an audience. I am still trying to feel at home. I don't have a strong relationship with my parents and I honestly felt emotionally disconnected from people most of my life.

Me too. Would love to hear how it is for others. I often feel that the opposite, intense south node 10th house Scorpio energy drawing me strongly. And in response I am having to actively find more Taurus expressions in life around peace, stability, simplicity, etc. I am an Aries sun, so a struggle at times to find the calm. I just started looking into my progressed chart. I found my N Node progressed into the 4th house so I looked for info. Currently I have it in Scorpio 1°. This year I went through my biggest change which is dropping medschool after 5 years I endured because I was too afraid to do something else that wasn't expected of me. This year I'm very confused as I'm still battling with the idea of making decisions that work for me and not to prove myself. One thing that most people also tend to overlook is that people with North Node in the 4th House or IC placement is that they end up having very beautiful houses/homes. This is a very good analysis of this placement! “Home” doesn’t necessarily mean the actual home. It could mean feeling home in your body. Cancer house is so much about feeling secure within. I had my creative life/passions derailed three times in my life because of "family." First by my dad, then my husband and then motherhood (my son is autistic). He's now grown, and doing well, and in the the last three years, I've FINALLY been pursuing my love of photography and writing. I sacrificed a beloved graphic design business because I couldn't be a mom and work. I love my son, but he was a challenge and an emotional drain on my body, mind and spirit. I've had similar experiences. My wife became ill after wanting a big family so I was left looking after our three young children with virtually no help whilst doing a day job (albeit working from home). It almost broke me trying to do everything for something like five years. Now I'm stuck looking after my mother who has Parkinson's because my sister won't/can't help and my father won't consider taking her back to her home country in Scandinavia where they have excellent residential geriatric care. Originally I stepped in during a crisis but it now looks like everyone wants me to bear the burden for the long haul. I too have had artistic aspirations and career goals, most of which have been stymied by demanding family and/or partners. My last relationship was with someone who did at least give me the space to pursue my goals but she was so financially demanding that became stressful. So your story really resonates. I too hate living in other people's places but often find myself there, usually in a caring or semi-caring role. Not wishing to sound sexist - and this is less significant in the modern age - but N.Node in 4th can be especially tricky for men because the 4th is a feminine house and people are less likely to sympathise, and there are still a few women - like my ex partner - who pile all the bread-winning 10th house responsibility onto your back to bear, which with N.Node in 4th is especially difficult. Another problem is that I'm so able at my job it creates loads of jealous enemies at work, and I've had to deal with heaps of politics during my life because of this placement, with people trying to undermine me despite my excellent results and bring me down whichever way possible. My kids are the same and is constantly putting me down. I gave my family my best, all in with everything I had; all my life I have been supportive of others; even sacrificially so... and NOW with the way I am regarded by these people I feel, freak them. I have had ENOUGH. I am tired of being treated like a joke or a dumping ground. I've finally gotten to the point that if I NEVER saw one member of my family again, it would be happy days! But one thing I did learn from all these people... I learned to think of myself and to hell with anybody else. To put my self first, and don't worry about how some other one feels. I'm learning to CARE for me. They were heartbreaking lessons but by God, I'll master it. And I will feel GOOD about myself and to hell what anybody else think. I agree with the parent thing. That has been my experience as well. Even though i'm an adult now and they respect my freedom, they still put their 2 cents in. And my experience growing up was having this "feeling" of being responsible for my family that I grew up with. And feeling responsible for my mom. Maybe in a past life, we neglected our family and was more focused on our career and achievements/success. So in this lifetime, we can still have that, but to remember to make room later in our lives for spending time with our family, whether that be the one we grew up with or our own family. Or both.

I would say it’s more about letting go of working for the sake of work.. like say a 9 to 5 usually does, and focusing on building security in your financial and home life doing something that’s more meaningful. I know it’s easier said than done. However , as the years go by you will notice a need to not care about reaching a height of recognition/fame/extreme financial success but instead focus on the something your heart wants (what do you want? Regardless of the money you make or recognition) And if you have to have a simple job to support yourself on the side that’s fine as long as it doesn’t get in the way of your peace.

From experience i can say a 4th house north node will counterintuitively provide better materially for a person when they are striving to work from home in private than when they try to join the 10th house capitalist machine. I studied for and had a high-profile job which never paid as well as surprisingly low profile private enterprises. It doesnt mean you dont get to choose your field. It means bring the field home and also dont be surprised if money comes to you through uncommon avenues. Bezos ran Amazon at a loss for years till 2003. It was considered and absolutely insane thing at the time.
@nop e I don't think you understand the full scope of what a passive income might be. Fixing up a shithole house all nicely by hand and renting it out to tenants is passive income. I did that. There is good money in it too. Selling leads is also good passive income, and i get a lot of requests, especially for home and building related projects. I also get lead requests for artisans working from home themselves. I know a bunch of artists who sell their designs for printing on mass produced clothes lines. That's passive income. Also In the video it says nowhere that 4th house nn people should take familial abuse or overburdening. 4th house nn especially with mars will bring family abuse as it did in my case and the right thing is to escape it. I am no longer in contact with my violent abusive family. In turn, that means that while I yearn for a family of my own, the terms under which I would have one are very personal and non traditional. It is not about personal experience but yet it is all about personal experience because we can help others in our situations with new ideas.

Like i said before, Jeff Bezos also has a 4th house nn, and he started deliveribg stuff to people's homes and now he is the ears inside people's homes. Also he ran his business at a loss for 6-8 years. Different flavors. No, in my country it is mot different from yours. My home city is more expensive than Paris. @nop e also maybe im wrong but i sense some stress in the way you write. 4th nn can also be about privacy and "behind the scenes". The only time i was very successful while working inside the system was running contracts between private suppliers and the army in my country. The contracts were very public but the inner workings were very not public, and when something went wrong my job was to fix silently. Just throwing out ideas for you. You can find success in any field but it might come much more easily if you find a good nn fit.
@nop e i dont know, recently i spoke to a friend who is a musician. Her nn is opposite, Leo 10th, and sn in 4th. She is very career focused but was working a lot in private, and she admitted there was some fear around being public. Yet everyone loved her large public performances. Her chart fully supports performing publicly, while she was trying to do a scott bradlee thing which is a very 4th nn type of career. They are both career oriented and very professional in my opinion. I think the nodes always bring some sort of fear or things we think we cant do.
I have this placement and I find it very true to my achievement. My home life is the most important thing in my life. All my life I dreamed of having my kids and being a mom and having a peaceful, happy home life and yes shaping my children's life and having my mother there with me is extremely important to me. The parent thing. wow especially with my mom. I do so much to make her proud, straight A’s throughout school, graduating college, staying out of trouble (drugs/sex). Yet still my mom would find a way to make me feel SO guilty. She once read all of my diaries and i felt so violated and i was punished for what i wrote even though she was in the wrong. In college she would still control my curfew and would make me feel like shit if i stayed out passed 11. Now its that she wants me to be with this man whos good on paper but i want to just go back to my ex who she hated but who makes me so happy. At 27 i find myself ashamed for wanting to go back to him because it will crush her if she finds out i dumped the one she likes. Like i know she will literally give me the silent treatment (her favorite). LIKE WTF!? I dont know how to get out of this stage of not wanting to upset her.

You need to do what YOU know is best for you and this will liberate you no matter how much it disappoints your mother. Thank you for making this video. I feel like my birth chart is a whole trick. I'm a Leo sun and a leo rising in the first house with a Virgo moon in the second house and my north node is in scorpio in the forth house. I was adopted and never felt at home anywhere. I recently got married I'm in my late forties and I am now a stay at home mom and sometimes it feels hard for me because I love to work and have an audience. I am still trying to feel at home. I don't have a strong relationship with my parents and I honestly felt emotionally disconnected from people most of my life.
I love being a stay at home wife. I always said as a kid, "I don't want to work; I want to create a sanctuary at home."

Me too. Would love to hear how it is for others. I often feel that the opposite, intense south node 10th house Scorpio energy drawing me strongly. And in response I am having to actively find more Taurus expressions in life around peace, stability, simplicity, etc. I am an Aries sun, so a struggle at times to find the calm. I do work from home, so the contradiction explained in this video is spot-on for 4th house people, in my experience. Also the obsession about parental validation long into adulthood.

I just started looking into my progressed chart. I found my N Node progressed into the 4th house so I looked for info. Currently I have it in Scorpio 1°. This year I went through my biggest change which is dropping medschool after 5 years I endured because I was too afraid to do something else that wasn't expected of me. This year I'm very confused as I'm still battling with the idea of making decisions that work for me and not to prove myself. Sometimes I catch myself thinking I have to do something better than going to medical school. This video really hit me deep because it is extremely spot on. I just started diving into tarot and astrology, my dream is to own a coffee shop and there are things that I wouldn't normally go through due to my parents. All my life has been dedicated to my parents and just now I'm working on not doing so because they are very supportive and accepting so idk where the obsession came from.

Mine NN is in 4th house in Libra ♎️ I also don’t have kids and my mother passed away 18yrs ago and my Dad lives in another state with his other family since I was little so yes I do feel confused with this placement on career, I had a stroke 2yrs ago and was deemed disabled so I’m currently not able to work the traditional job lifestyle so I am interested in what I could do to help with this aspect

My NN is in Leo in the 4th so this really coincides. Plus Leo is about lving from within the heart and not analytical cold detached like Aquarius, and putting yourself in the center of your own "stage", in the lime light a little bit, *you* be the face of the thing. And not hide in the background and just be part of a group and collective. Individual uniqueness and self expression. Be a participent in life and not just an observer

Jose Torres . Achieving something that is personal to you as long as it doesn’t get in the way of your emotional solitude and actual stability is how to fulfill your north Node in the 4th house. This may have nothing to do with career, it can simply be something as simple as collecting books or cards... as long as it fulfills you. (I mentioned this in the video that it is prime importance that it does not get in the way of you losing your actual home because the 4th house is your home )

I didn't aspire to have kids and I was 14 when I got pregnant & 15 when I had my first & oldest son of 5 kids. Haters kept saying I was too young to have children bc I was just a baby myself. Guys were making fun of me in h.s. that I was never interested in; estranged family was saying the woman who raised me couldn't have children so she was letting me have babies so she could raise them. It was a horribly confusing childhood w/2 different families
My 5 children are grown & in 5 didn't states from me in south mn. Sorry to say. I have no money to visit them & my grandchildren & they all have cars & licenses but don't visit me at all. My youngest a female sag driving truck & making deliveries around the world has texted me that she was coming to MN. but we couldnt find truck stop for her large cab-truck so I couldn't see her(:
