I adopted my Min Pin from a family that let the kids dress her up but never take her out. So she went in the house and was scolded. The owner threw her into my arms and yelled good riddance. She was 9 months old. I do as I always do when I rescue with a small dog, I stuffed her into my shirt and brought her home. That was 13 years ago and she sleeps next to me every night.
@@frankiejayverdaasdonk3664 You'll love it. It's rough during their puppy years, but everything they do "wrong" is because of something you didn't do. For example, they chewed things up in the house when they were left unattended. They should have been put in a crate when they were unattended and things they can destroy should be out of reach. They're not getting enough play time, stimulation, and exercise. They have so much energy. They are compelled to use it on something. I know you will love finally getting to be a dog person. Just give him or her the best you can give. They need you to spend time with them and pay attention to them. They need interaction. They need to belong to your pack (even if it's just you and your dog).

All these graceful dogs. My dog just rumbles around like a bodybuilding toddler. Listen, she’s two feet tall and 70lbs. Shes a sturdy gal. Oh my pitbull. 😂
I adopted a 5 year old yorkie mix a couple of weeks ago, that was possibly abused in the past. She was scared on our way home but when we got home, she became imprinted on me and my daughter. I'm glad she now have a loving family
We adopted a dog who was abused. I stay at home and he imprinted on me very quickly. Besides him I have a little pomipoo and a cat. All 3 go wherever I go all day long.
My current dog is a Rescue, supposedly three when I adopted her. I think she bonded as soon as a put a leash on her and the best term I would use to describe her would be clinging. I call her by Velcro Dog. I've been around dogs most of my life, this one stays closer than any of the others.
My pitbull was about 9-12 weeks AND neglected if not abused. She clearly comes from a fighting litter due to her size and dislike of certain objects. The vet said my dog is so obsessed with me that it could be dangerous for other people. Because obsession causes protectiveness and aggression. Plus side, she only listens to me. Downside, I need a love seat because I can’t fit myself and her in a chair. Even though she thinks it’s comfortable. Yea, for her.
Yep! I had 4 mini dachshunds, mostly adopted/rescued - only one from a breeder, yet all of them followed me everywhere! Like they say, you’ll never go to the bathroom along again with a Doxie lol. I’m sure it’s the same for many other breeds.
Our Lhasa Apso is extremely concerned that I've been doing arts and crafts in the kitchen lately to make Christmas presents. I swear he's guarding me because this is all highly unusual business.
My pups sleep in bed with me. Saving up for a new bed. Right now, I am blessed to care for 2 pups. Gretta is a schnauzer and around 11 or older, rescue from a neglectful place. Just recently lost my GSD. 9 Month old rescue dog, when I got her almost a year ago. She was so calm and timid the first month. I had to fight to get her into the truck. I don't know her previous history, but when she realized I always took her home, we became inseparable. We did everything together, and at times it was annoying. She just had so much energy. It's been less than a week, started boxing up all her stuff. It's hard when they are gone.
@@bangbang9ergang524 She would of been 20 months old. Jumped over the 6 foot fence and got hit by a car. Mostly black with some gold. It was getting dark and she bolted out from behind a spruce tree.
I'm so sorry, so happy she knew what love was before she passed. Remember, there's always room in your heart for more love, and there's always an animal that needs it desperately..
Once you have a Doxie you will be in love with that breed for ever! I 4 in a row with one left now at 13. They where all adopted elderly yet lived up to 18!! Enjoy your lil Doxie they are amazing
Most pets follow owners and act hyper because the owner is hyper and has the pet in a neurotic state of mind. The owner fosters the bad behavior. Pets are not children, they are pets first. Treat them with rules, boundaries and then provide affection, not the other way around.
I have an Australian Shepherd and I chose to start training her early to stay while I go do things. Sometimes it's fine if she is with me and sometimes I don't want to watch her while I'm doing things. I gotta be honest - when she gives me "the look" what I want is seldom important. Dogs are love in a fur coat and if you're lucky enough to have one take the time to train them, pay attention to them, and love them.

I work with a girl who had a 4-year-old female German Shepherd. She brought her in one day, it was the first time I ever met her dog. As I walked by her cubicle I said hi to her dog, petted her. The dog followed me to my office and laid down against the wall parallel to my desk. Every time I left my office the dog would get up and follow me wherever I went and then she would come back into my office and lay back down against the wall. The girl asked me what I did to her dog and why she was following me all around wherever I went. I told her I didn't do anything to her dog and I don't know why her dog is doing this. Why would her dog do this?
How’s your health? If you haven’t had a physical in a while, please get one ASAP! Doggo could be alerting you to an abnormality in your body. My Service Dog is a social butterfly & has alerted me to encourage strangers to get checked out. She even alerted me to an elderly lady about to pass out in Target. I frequently get massages & my Babygirl requires a “1:1” session with my Therapist before we get started - he says that she ALWAYS tells on him when he’s not feeling well or taking care of himself. My son & I say that she has welcomed him into our pack & must care for him as well! 😊
Or maybe she sees you as part of the pack, based on your coworker's interaction with you. If you are her supervisor, maybe the dog sees you as the pack leader and is trying to get in good with the pack and the leader of the pack. Or maybe she just took a liking to you.
I have a 3 year old chihuahua/beagle hybrid who is a rescue. She's my furry cousin, but she follows me everywhere and sleeps with me in my bed. My main issue with her is that she has a habit of trying to play with me at bedtime, especially when I'm starting to doze off. I keep trying to get her to play downstairs in the living room, but she prefers to play upstairs in my bedroom. Not really sure how to correct that behavior other than giving her calming treats, which take about an hour to make her sleepy.
That’s hilarious. My chihuahua used to have nighttime bedtime energy too. Now she only gets like that if I don’t let her walk and play about 30 minutes after her evening feeding. And I give her a bedtime treat and she’s ready for bed. If only she didn’t have a bladder the size of a teaspoon and we wasn’t two stories and across the house from the yard at 3 am way too manny night 😂
This is a sign of excess energy. You need to be more active with your beagle/Chi mix. Both breeds are energetic and need to be stimulated with activity in order for them to have healthy habits. Please try to take your pup out more often or do more playtime activities prior to bedtime.

My chihuahua only has three working legs so a leash seems pretty ridiculous on her. she doesn’t run anywhere faster than I can grab her in just a step or two
