I smell BR540 everywhere i go lol. Target, walmart, costco, airport, my apartment bldg elevator 😂😂 i got rid of mine, i had both the edp and the extrait
I’ve bought from dossier and I love them!!! The only perfume I’ll constantly buy designer is my Louis Vuitton attrape reves and city of stars from LV as well and that’s only because I pay for refills now. Not new bottles all the time, it’s cheaper refilled than when you first buy!!
Agreed. I have a sensitive nose and mfk baccarat smells so much rounder and rich. Not that ambery saffron is bad! I later them, too. But I have to say this is another instance of true gift and talent (of Francis) that can be imitated, but not matched ❤
Dossier just started their own line of unisex scents and I just ordered this lavender...something...? I can't remember but the review said it reminds them of a lavender oat latte. Can't wait for it to arrive!
As a perfume collector, I have no respect for such companies. The worlds of perfumes is rich and varied, you can find original products for every taste and budget. Making copies of perfumes that have been created by the best perfumers for months is cheat
The world, as you say, is rich and varied. There are companies that focus on originality, while others focus on quality, some on top notch service, others on celebrity branding and luxury pricing, and then there are those that aim for accessibility and affordability. The point is, customers have options. If you are a perfume collector and only want the designer originals, that’s great. This video is for those who are looking for affordable alternatives. I personally came to like Dossier because they’re so explicit and transparent about their model - giving full credit to the original fragrances and stating that their products are inspired by them. They still had to get in a lab and create the fragrances themselves.
My unpopular opinion.. but to me, buying dupes from Dossier would be akin to buying a fake Chanel bag off Canal St. Main difference is bags are to be seen. You know it's fake, looks like the original, same size as the original, but it's clearly of lower quality and costs less. The untrained eyes or nose probably can't spot the difference, but you know what it is. It’s an open secret that perfumes brought out by the likes of Marc Jacobs, Versace etc are not created by these designers but by professional perfumers. So when a luxury house decides to launch a new fragrance, it kicks off with a marketing brief. Then, perfumers compete against one another to secure the deal, often tinkering and making adjustments to their submissions without being paid. Many perfumers are freelancing on commission, and very few are hired in-house unless they are well known in the industry (ex: Jean-Claude Ellena for Hermes or Francis Kurkdjian for Dior). The process of creating a fragrance is an art and can take *years* to go from ideation to launch. Perfumers go through many years of training to perfect their craft and amass knowledge of raw materials, synthetics, stability of chemical compounds, etc. Luxury houses pour millions into marketing. Money and time is spent on focus groups, sales associates in department stores, ad campaigns, billboards, etc. You mentioned that Dossier is giving “full credit” to the original fragrance, which to me sounds like taking advantage of the popularity and success of a fragrance to market their products. So.. is Dossier profit sharing with the original fragrance creators or fashion houses for their work? For me personally, just as I would with a Chanel bag I'd save up and buy the real thing.
Not watching this vid, just wanted to comment (not bashing) here since I see this is sponsored. I have a hard time when companies base their business off of duping an original creation. It’s one thing to have fragrances that have a similar vibe, it happens. But to make clones of something created by a perfumer or house just doesn’t sit right with me. I see it not that different than knock off bags, belts, shoes, etc. Those are also made by someone’s hard work, but the reality is the design/artistic creation was taken. I know we don’t see eye to eye on dupes, but sharing my opinion here b/c ultimately it’s someone’s talents and brain child and I would not love it if my masterpiece was duped and sold for less.
Omg. I’ve been eyeing on dossier perfumes as well as dime beauty perfumes. Thanks for the review!
You are so welcome!
Thank you Hannah. I’m just starting to get my “nose” into fragrance. This may be a good starting point. 😊
It could be fun to start with the quiz and see what fragrances are recommended for you! 😊
I didn’t know I had missed some videos! Now, I want to get some perfumes! Maybe I’ll try the chance eau tendre by Chanel? Love this.

I will have to check out that Floral Marshmallow because I’m sick of paying $275 per bottle for Love Don’t Be Shy LOL.
Ohh!!

No worries. Given that you didn’t even watch the video to learn more, I won’t bother to elaborate here.
