If you remember, in the Original Game, you learn from the PDA's that the Aurora was on a journey to build a new phasegate and they had a passenger from a different area of space, the Mongolian States if IRC, called Jochi Kassar and you were supposed to make a detour to take him on a close pass of 4546B to scan for wreckage and Survivors from the Degassi Crash since the Torgals were an imortant Family in that area of space.
Right at the start near the place you first jump into the water there is an ore vein nearby with a bunch of ore. Pretty great for a headstart and timesaver!
This was actually something early access players were discussing back during the releases this past winter. We were wanting some tools to make it easier to go straight to surface exploration instead of spending the first few hours foraging in the ocean. Flares are a necessary requirement as the surface is much darker at night then most ocean biomes, and the flares are necessary to scare away creatures that tend to hunt you.
Alterra reminds me a bit of the Lethia Corporation from Starbound. Good old Z1, pinning a flashlight for crafting while he already has one on his hotbar.
27:15~ I would like AL-AN transferred into my brain if explained in advance. Without explanation, I would definitely react like Robin. 28:16~ Oh yeah, *DENIAL* !!!!
Just gonna point out that the sanctuary was minutes, if not seconds from losing power. He didn't exactly have time to explain. Also, he was, as shown by his surprise at her reaction, unaware that humans saw any difference between their equipment and bodies. This is a result of the fact that because Architects figured out how to transfer their consciousness between bodies, their body is seen as just another tool. A particularly important one, of course, but not a core part of who they are. However, as noted by his quick conclusion of what was going on, it is clear that he at least considered it reasonable that some other beings might not see it that way. As such, it would have been wise for him to spend a couple seconds giving the short explanation. But it's possible that due to the fact that the transfer has, as far as we know, no lasting detrimental effects, he assumed she would be fine with it. Not to say that her reaction wasn't how most people would react(Although if it was me I would probably start asking questions at a mile a minute.) or an inappropriate reaction, just explaining why AL-AN may not have explained it.
@@kenbaird7454 Thanks for rhe explanation. It definitely can't be helped if the sanctuary was on the verge of power loss. I hope the Architects can appreciate the differences between specimens in how you treat your body.
19:03 (subnautica 1 spoiler) in subnautica 1, there is a pda in the aurora stating that the auroras secondary mission is a rescue mission for the dresagi (you can find 3 of their habitats around the map). they were not there for the virus
I kind of miss the "This is EXACTLY why we have safety protocols" line, however it went. But I do LOVE this story and will be restarting a game very soon, indeed. probably tomorrow, after a sleep...maybe a few days....we'll see.
So with your question about the drop pod being in different locations, it is, it has set locations that it can spawn in. This was also the same in Subnautica
Z: you know the comment section is probably saying make the flashlight. the comment section: don't make the darn flashlight it's a waste of materials and also he scanned 4 seaglide fragments
The story hook was stronger for me on this one. Yeah, survive, don't get eaten by a reaper, ok, fine cool, but this actually had more of the emotional and human appeal. I wonder if they'll ever do a full map to connect the grounds to each other?
Ye, the story is one of the big things I have seen a lot of mixed opinions on. Some people preferred the minimal story of the old game, because it added to the general atmosphere of loneliness and did a great job of making you feel small. It was very atmospheric. However, this one is a lot more detailed and goes much more in-depth about things, which I personally like more. I really enjoy all the dialogue, each character feels like their own person, AL-AN's relationship with Robin and seeing how it progresses is amazing. I think the reason some people don't like it is it's very much a different type of story than Subnautica. However, I personally like this style better. If some people don't, thats totally up to them, but It's a bit annoying when they go complaining about it, not realizing that its not worse, just different.
Can't wait to get home from work and play this. Can't wait to watch the play through. Seems like the voice actors have changed since the last time I played.
I can't believe it. I subscribed to you years ago, when you had around 200 subscribers. I guess I stopped watching your videos, but a few years later, I saw one of your videos and I saw how far you have come. You went from 200 subscribers to 500k.
yeah..it would make more sense if she first said something like "omg it's freezing out here" before suddenly saying "better get into the water.." e.e idk.. + halleluja ur pinning recipes !!!! :'D ah pls continue doing that pls
That moment when you realized you whent somewhere further and harder to go instead of going where there's less monsters and apparently a rebreather and an underwater alien cave xD
I'm playing this blind. So far, the sea monkeys took off with my flashlight, my scanner, and my knife. Oh, the horror! I had to make new ones and now don't carry them when I see the darn things. Still looking for the rebreather. Though discovering the thermal plants was a nice surprise. I built a base but have yet to find diamonds. So this game definitely will have you on the edge of your seat. But the one thing that irks me is all the seaglide parts. I don't need that many! And just discovered those shrooms are great for the bioreactor.
19:40 - as hes saying he cant find seaglide fragments there's one in the distance lol. At the time stamp look at the hill to the right above his scanner you'll see the fragment.
You can use bladder fish if you eat it you can use it as oxigen and if you take a drained battery and make a scanner you get a full battery and you can trow the other scanner away
I just rewatching your subnatica videos and wonder if there are MODS for Below Zero? I love the MODDED Subnatica series and would love to possibly see a MODDED Below Zero. However, I understand that you play what you’re enjoying and also what does well.
We don't shut down the power in the first game. Only for the quarantine enforcement platform. This has no reason to affect power to other facilities. The thermal plant in the lava castle is still operational, probably the reason for power issues is just degradation over time. The little bots are supposed to be maintaining the facilities, but with nobody available to tell them what to fix, they just kind of roam around aimlessly performing only the most basic of functions.
Just for a little tip, once you scan the exterior planter, you can plant ribbon plants, slice them with your knife for seeds to plant more. As with the gel sacks, you can essentially have an infinite supply.
Players finishing Subnautica: *”Finally we can leave 4546B and get back to normal life!!”* Subnautica Below Zero: *”Hippity Hoppity 4546B is your life property”*

okay so what does that mean
You lost me at “phasegate”
I'm even more confused than I already was
I kinda understand and don’t but it gave me chills
Yessss, finally released. I got this game because of you, along with a bunch of other games like No Mans Sky. So I wanted to thank you.
Me too
Same
Agreed
Yeet
Literally the next video that's going top okay is no man's sky Live
He's gonna make too many of one tool again XDDD
Z1 you can find prawn suite grappling arm fragment on the way to Margaret's base on a sea monkey's nest near a high capacity O2 tank fragment.
The Escape pod from the first subnautica had a random spawn too. Makes sense for this pod to spawn random as well
Right at the start near the place you first jump into the water there is an ore vein nearby with a bunch of ore.
Pretty great for a headstart and timesaver!
Z: pins a flash light because he says he needs one.
Also Z: Literally made one at the start
I so agree to this comment right here cause it's facts.
Scans an extra sea glide fragment thinking he doesn't have the blue print while on the screen blueprint attained ...
A tip you might find helpful: Seamonkeys are afraid of flares. That’s probably the reason why there are so many of them at the beginning.
Well no they give it to you as a temporary light source before the flashlight
This was actually something early access players were discussing back during the releases this past winter. We were wanting some tools to make it easier to go straight to surface exploration instead of spending the first few hours foraging in the ocean. Flares are a necessary requirement as the surface is much darker at night then most ocean biomes, and the flares are necessary to scare away creatures that tend to hunt you.
Flares can also be used to slow the time it takes to freeze
11:42 creepvine is also great for the bio reactor which is one of the best things I've ever made for my base
In the original games, the writhing weed seeds were so abundant it could charge my reactor for days at a time

I just noticed that the blueprints or components messages don't interrupt but play after the PDA audio messages!
The life pod actually doesn’t land in the same spot it has a radius it can sawn anyways in the first biome
No
In orginal it never spawn in the same place, idk if here is same
Only on PC. Can confirm not on switch or Xbox (One and S). PC DID do that BUT in the BETA. Not in full release.

Just finished. Pretty bizzare, considering I didn't get to experience this with OG subnautica

Yeah no, the Drop Pod doesn't land in the same spot every time. Just like the Life Pod from the OG Subnautica.
yes!!! lets go again! love your plan of audio logs.
I pre-ordered the game 10 days ago and it arrived yesterday and I have played all of the way to having a sea truck, a habitat, and ALAN
