    • @TonySun-sk2nr
      @TonySun-sk2nr 9 месяцев назад +55

      @@IHateEliranAtarI really don’t think it’s the goalie’s fault. There are three defenders on Messi quickly closing the gap and Messi is still 30 yards out. Any sensible goalie would assume that Messi will pass to his teammate on the left. That’s why the goalie is already moving in that direction. But Messi took this opportunity and made the shot, the goalie had to shift his body momentum to make the dive and that window was just enough to concede the goal.

    • @ravecrab
      @ravecrab 9 месяцев назад +10

      @@TonySun-sk2nr It's absolutely the keeper's fault. Even if Messi passes to the guy on the left, he's marked and he has a lot to do before the keeper needs to make a save. The keeper should be on his toes, because very often if a forward is running at a defence with no good options he'll try a long range shot. If you watch the replay at 2:10, Messi has time to wind up the shot with a full backlift *and* get it away before the keeper even reacts.

    • @IHateEliranAtar
      @IHateEliranAtar 9 месяцев назад +7

      @@TonySun-sk2nr Keeper's retreat is poor. He is indeed taken by surprise by Messi, which is why both his positioning and reaction time were extremely poor. Big miscalculation on his part, and it wasn't luck that Messi got that goal. Messi surely noticed that, which is why he took that shot, which wasn't that strong.
      The only goal he conceded which is not 100% his fault (but also mostly to blame), is the Alba goal.

    There’s something that hasn’t really been said because I think it’s too overwhelming to think about: we are witnessing the birth of a club. Inter Miami is only 5 years old, Messi made such an impact on this team already that it’s not a stretch to claim that he’ll be their biggest club legend. This is how I imagine it felt for people to watch Cruyff at Barcelona: he is at the center of this club’s rebirth. So exciting and amazing to witness, what a gift it is to be alive at the same time as Leo Messi.

      Speaking of the Saudi Pro League, the only reason why they seem to be the better league at the moment is because the Saudis are hemorrhaging money on short term big name transfers over there to boost it's reputation. I don't feel that is a sustainable approach, even if the government has a ton of oil money. There is after all an inherent weakness when most of a country's wealth comes from one resource

      The recognition it deserves? What does it deserve exactly? The defending is awful from what I’ve seen. There’s some spectacular goals but when the defending is so bad it’s never going to be one of the biggest leagues. It’s league 2 standard in England.

    • @juakoblues
      @juakoblues 9 месяцев назад +3

      I dont think "recognition" its the word I would use. I watched the games so far, and the quality is almost amateur in so many aspects. What I think is that Messi and Co will evolve the league with their play style and other teams will need to play better to face off. Hopefully

Now you can't sleep on anyone because your best player will encourage everyone to "play the right way". I'm so happy to finally watch "football" I can appreciate. A team playing the game like a team. No "Hero Ballers" with blinders on.
