This game showed a side of Messi that is not often talked about, his humility. When they called him to pick up the trophy as captain, he recognized that Yedlin was the original captain until recently so he gave him the armband and asked for him to come and pick up the trophy. Yedlin was pleasantly surprised by the gesture. Messi is not just the greatest footballer of all time but also one of the most humble super stars ever. That is why all the players he has ever played with love him including great players like Luis Suarez and Neymar. He is a great credit to his parents and his family.

As ridiculous as Messi’s entire career has been, this is genuinely one of his greatest achievements. Joined an Inter Miami side 15th in the eastern conference, who had no wins in 11 games and hadn’t ever won a trophy. Leo scores 10 goals in 7 games, including some unreal free kicks and long range bangers, many of which came at crucial, crucial times and moments. Not just the goals; his passing, dribbling, vision, leadership and general level of play still unmatched by anyone on the planet, despite him being 36. Not to mention the way he constantly improves and assists his teammates. Ultimately, he wins Inter Miami their first trophy against all the odds. The most goals in finals ever (35) and the most trophies ever (44). We may never see another sportsman at his level ever again 🐐

He chose to join a relatively unknown team in an underdeveloped league, didnt care what the critics said, and immediately made an impact as a player and captain. He is still accepting new challenges and adventures at 36, even though he was contemplating retirement 5 years ago. What are you talking about. As much as this narrative is being push that he is the happiest right now and his greatest achievements are being right now is just marketing from the American media to sell them Messi. Now this is like watching my older brother playing with my friends that were my age. Slower, with inferior technique and passes so inaccurate and so many opportunities wasted. Look at Messi’s face when his team mate missed the goal. I finally saw him upset and with good reason. The change that American football/soccer it’s not going to be really visible until teams bring players that are not retired. This is child’s play for Messi.
