Nah, Messi in 2008-2015 was just unstoppable. His dribble in those years was just insane. and in 2012 was his prime, that year was the pinnacle of excellence that no player has ever touched.... only Messi.

The kid was the MVP of the Next-Pro national youth competition in 2021, signed by Miami and sent to their development team in 2022 and then promoted to the first team this season after Miami suffered a bunch of injuries. He's been the find of the season, playing well even before Messi arrived.

Football is a sport first and entertainment second. If I can't watch my team's game I will be on an app checking the score at every single moment. Pretty much anyone that's looking for highlights on youtube already knows the final score.
It’s deliberate to encourage you to not just scroll to the desired goal you want to see. They get paid on engagement, and removing the score will encourage you to watch more of the match to find that special moment you read in the news. Agree it’s very annoying though and breaks the flow
Other MLS highlights average around 50k views at most, but the highlights involving Inter Miami, with Messi in it, have all reached over 3M views! It's almost incomprehensible how one man managed to lift the popularity of MLS into a mainstream sport that's been dominated, for decades, by the other 4 leagues, namely NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL.

I just hope some people took the chance to watch some of the other games in this Leagues Cup. We've had a whole series of fantastic games that went right down to the wire just like this one. The rivalry between LigaMx and MLS means that when teams from each league play against each other there is an intensity that is missing from regular season games.
What a moment for Cremaschi. Born and raised in Florida and recently got promoted to Inter Miami first team. In a very important match he scored a clutch goal and the match winning penalty. All in front of Messi and the entire world watching.

Inter Miami fan here (been watching them since the club’s inauguration) - reason behind that is the fact that we’ve had it successfully set up for him. The reason we were last place is because all we were missing was a key finisher, other than that we prepped the possession and passing style that synchs right up to Messi’s style!

I was lucky enough to attend this game... I don't think the stadium was ready for the sheer influx of people that Messi attracted. His supporters, especially whenever he got a touch, easily outcheered the FC Dallas fans. People were even booing the FC Dallas players during the PK's. Everyone, even lots of FC Dallas fans, went wild after Messi's free kick, throwing beer and jumping up and down. What a crazy atmosphere, and what a guy.
